Islands of Ice redesign: total garbage
Deckeru_Maiku replied to FishDogFoodShack's topic in General Discussion
What is a BaBBy: Player that almost exclusively play BBs Winrate < 50% (usually WAY below 50%) loves to do a lot of Boom-Boom from maximum range or to "kemp bush" slowly moving forward from behind an island to shoot, then backpedalling in cover again rarely gets close to a cap unless there is no need for it but he has one of his rare YOLO moments often shoots HE exclusively, even at broadsided enemy BBs has no idea what "angling your ship" means has no clue of tactics but loves following the herd of other BaBBies to create a useless lemming run, that of course fails as soon as more than one enemy ship shows up, as none of the BaBBies would risc to have his paintjob scratched due to being sure that taking damage raises the repair bill... They usually ruin my games by their incompetence to support and their utter inability to do anything useful in game. If all BaBBies would suddenly quit the game, the average player IQ would probably go up for at least 10 points, finally reaching 80 or so. The number of BBs per battle would suddenly drop to only 3. Many battles would be a lot closer fights, instead of all those wipe-outs we see now. T10 battles would be only half as boring as they are now... -

Well, that's what BaBBies do for me... be childish and ruin my battles -
Why? Complaining about potatoes is more on topic than about 50% of the other threads

Oooooooh... I'd love to see you do that... best on the enemy team...

Islands of Ice redesign: total garbage
Deckeru_Maiku replied to FishDogFoodShack's topic in General Discussion
Yeppers, first version was the best... I loved sneaking through those islands in the corner with a DD, just to get ambushed by an enemy DD or manage to ambush him... Now it's just... BaBBy Convenience all over again... so those poor little T9/T10 BaBBies don't overload their fly-size brains... -
Best t6 cruiser for getting potential damage?
Deckeru_Maiku replied to thiextar's topic in General Discussion
For me it's Leander (43k average damage, max 146k) -> Aoba (35k, max 84k) -> Nürnberg (33k, max 106k) -> Gallison (31k, max 89k) -----------> Buttjohnny (18k, max 34k, (which is the reason why that ship has only 8 battles played... it sucks - at least for me...)) In the end, it's not the ship that makes the damage, but the player and his abilities and his style of play... except for the Buttjohnny... it sucks... -
Did you get any British DD-missions from the containers?
Deckeru_Maiku replied to MrFingers's topic in General Discussion
That whine might have worked, if you hadn't added an MLP to it... MLPs negate whines automatically... so sorry... -
I had the impression, that players were better during the daytime, alas this seems to have changed... potatoes all day long it seems...

Whining seems to help, as I got the mission for the T6 DD today -
Did you get any British DD-missions from the containers?
Deckeru_Maiku replied to MrFingers's topic in General Discussion
After getting all the containers I could without spending money for them - even exchanging the coins coming from them into new containers, as I already own the ships I could buy with them - I still only got the T5 mission... It does not really bother me, that I didn't got the others yet... but I'm bothered, that it seems even if I get them, I won't be able to do the first (and probably second) week missions for the supercontainers, as they call for at least a T7 RN DD. -

I was out to get some USA cruiser missions done today, so I played some T8/T9 at first and got educated, that the evenings seem to be the new weekend.... Didn't have a sack for all those potatoes I had in my teams... When, just because of pure frustration, I took out my Bismarck for a ride, I ended in a Domination Battle on Two Brothers. Told my team that - due to frustration - I would YOLO to D and, in case I would survive that, go for the B cap. Nobody exploded in chat as a result, which I would have expected. Instead the two (divisioned) DDs of my team ran ahead of me and - to my astonishment - stayed with me, even when about half the enemy team appeared ahead of us. They even made good choices when to smoke up, which allowed me to get into the smoke and let my secondaries do their job (and heal up a bit..) In the end, I got into B - and got my second cap assist there - while getting two kills on the way, even though I only managed to do 60k of damage in our win. After I got those missions done, I tried for one of the RN DD missions - get 250k credits from a single battle - and put all available flags and even the *cough* french *cough* camo on my Gallant. A bit later the battle I took her in ended with a win. I had managed 3 kills, some 37k damage and got rewarded with ~420k credits... As I now was out of higher tier missions, I went for a round in my Yubari. I got lucky, as there were two CVs per team in a domination battle on Solomon Island map, with me starting on the south side. Being in a T5 battle was not so nice, but I'm used to that... Four DDs per team meant many more targets for me, so I followed two of ours when they headed straight to the B cap. An enemy DD got there before us and hid behind one of the islands, that reach into the cap, so I just did a fast swing in and out of the cap, fired a couple times at that DD and any ship that showed up on the horizon... then I circled the big island below the B cap, as our right flank had broken down, leaving the way free for the enemy to push through to our CVs. A single DD tried to intervene, too, but got finished off quite fast. And a BB did a retreating battle, but the enemy had the numbers on him, so running away was all he could do. I sailed straight east, firing at any target that came in range, but couldn't help the poor - sloooooooow - Langley. But I revenged him, as I managed to sink the DD that had finished him. Our Zuiho used it's speed and got away, and now it was only the BB and me that the enemy could concentrate upon. Luckily they decided to take out the BB first, ignoring me, and those little "plink-plinks" I sent their way, starting a couple of fires... When the BB had reached about the (southern) middle of the map, his time had come... but the cavalry had arrived, too! Another of our BBs had gone from the western flank to support us, so I set my course north to go on with what I had done before - annoy the enemy (and give that BB some AA support). Shortly later, there were only two ships left on the southern half of the map: my Yubari and an enemy Texas with 60% or so of health. And again I was lucky, as that Texas seemed to be controlled by either a very unlucky or rather potato-ish player. When I charged at the Texas (!!!) I only got hit by a single shell. And as the Zuiho sent some planes against it, he had to turn away from me to dodge the torpedoes they had launched, which allowed me to turn and launch my own torps at him. Three hits later the Texas was no more... The last enemy ships - the enemy Zuiho and another BB - were hunted by some of my team's ship on the northern part of the map, sailing away from their hunters to the south, through the C cap. So I got the chance to send some shells at them, which resulted in the third kill of the battle and a win.. So three kills, 69k damage done and a win... and the deserved #1 spot in the battle result in a T5 battle... seems okay to me -
So, 139k is a decent damage for a game, right?
Deckeru_Maiku replied to Johnny_Moneto's topic in General Discussion
I was quite surprised today when I managed to plant a two turret salvo of my Izumo from < 5 km into the broadside of a Yamato for ~60k damage - brought my total for that battle up nicely... Wasn't in arms race though... so it doesn't really fit to the topic, except that I just wanted to brag a bit... -
Aigle is more a light cruiser while Yūbari is more a heavy DD (with a citadel...) Yūbari was flagship of Destroyer Squadron Six of the IJN 4th Fleet (quote from wikipedia) and I think classified as a DE (= Destroyer Escort) with her job being supporting DDs. So imho WG managed to get her quite right.. at least in Beta... now she lacks a bit AA, but still can strip all planes of a Hosho or Langley if it's stupid enough to go after it...

Is this a Matchmaking?? Or every time a new Campaign (uk dd now) it mess up!
Deckeru_Maiku replied to RedOnly's topic in General Discussion
Played a lot yesterday and today - and even quite a bit co-op, because Missions - and the worst I had was 1 CV, 2 BB and 5 DD in Co-OP. Was a fast killfest... poor little bots showed no knowledge of wasd hack when torps were coming their way... So... what was OPs problem? Too few targets for his CV? Tsk... learn to Hammer&Anvil... oh.. wait... don't, as you won't need it in the future after CV rework -
I love the Yubari. When a T4 or T5 tries to take you out of the game and you swat some planes out of the air like flies... or when some Kamikaze Sealclubber thinks he's safe due to being 10 klicks away from you and then eats shells... Yubari is not for everyone. And there are battles, where it will just outright s*ck. Knowing how to kite is a needed skill. And it helps if you have a couple hundred DD battles under your belt. I'm very okay with your decision, as it means one less Yubari around, allowing me in mine to shine a bit brighter

What is the "flavor" of the new RN DDs?
Deckeru_Maiku replied to Leo_Apollo11's topic in General Discussion
Flavour of british DDs? Mutton in Mint Sauce... tasty when done well and from a younger beast, but quite horrible if not. I like them. I like Campbeltown, Gallant and the not really RN Vampire... -
Best balance for submarines: Do not put them in the game... perfectly balanced without any additional work...

What Were Your Greatest Gaming Achievements Today ?

Had another Potato Team Day today, with many battles without any support and brain- and spineless players all around... That lead to a (rare...) loss in my Vampire, even though I managed 60k damage - but only one sinker - and 2747 super unicorn WoW S&N rating... in the end I was hunted by almost all of the six surviving enemy ships.. and they finally got me... Somewhat better was it to take out the Fat Old Lady Warspite for a ride. I managed to sink two DDs - - and another ship (Cruiser or BB - forgot what it was) fora total of 79k damage and a win. And I ecen survived the battle, even though I was reckless to no end... And in my not yet fully researched Yugumo I had for once a good team and a good battle. 101k damage, three sinkers - all BaBBies; straightsailing at T9/10 - and 5186 superunicornish WoW S&N rating... and a win... There's nothing to talk about for all the other battles... except that shortly before one battle ended with a loss, I got some praise by the enemy team (after they hunted and sunk my Ibuki) for being the only good player on my team... even though I did little than run away from half the enemy team hunting me and sniping at them whenever I could, while the rest of my team got sunk by the other half of the enemies' team... -

Exactly... that would be as stupid as for example russian cruisers out-radaring all other cruis... oh.. wait... Yes... happy times ahead! I've been training in my Crispy Creme for a while now - 184 battles - and am pround of my 20% main gun hit-rate and the 51% winrate... Considering the amount of potatoes usually playing ranked, I guess many will see a Crispy Creme for the first time... and that will allow for many a nice barbeque... -
What Were Your Greatest Gaming Achievements Today ?
Deckeru_Maiku replied to Hanszeehock's topic in General Discussion
Greatest Gaming Achievement today? Didn't throw my PC out of the window... First battle was the first of eight losses (from ten battles...) and it was a sure sign what to expect: Taking out the Chung Mu and having only potatoes in the team... no support... no caps... no win. Next was one of two wins... in my Lyon. Only 37k damage but 2 sinkers and a not totally incompetent team... More losses came... and among them the most frustrating one. Took my Kamikaze for a ride. Be the only DD on my team. Opposing DD is a Fujin - had luck and got the last hit on that filthy sealclubber Map was Two Brothers and Domination mode, so I went a-capping immediately. Got a solo cap and sank a cruiser that tried to be nasty to me. Went back to homecap and then through the channel, as the enemy was pushing on the left flank and my potatoes hobbled along the western (right) flank avoiding to enter the cap - which I had taken - due to two (!) enemy BBs being ahead of them (and, in fact, running away, due to them facing 3 BBs and two cruisers...) Coing out of the channel I managed to torp - but not sink - two BBs (kills went to others...) and do another solo-cap. Fujin had shown in the western cap, so I went there and managed to get the killing shot on it. The enemy now advanced north through the channel and I was the only one trying to stop them, as the surviving two BBs and a cruiser were now idling along the northern map edge, sniping at targets I spotted - with little success - and being utterly useless. Enemy had three caps already and 300+ points advantage... I managed to harass the ships coming through the channel and when a Scharnhorst tried a bullrush it went right into my torps, giving me the third kill ofthe battle. But then I was overpowered by two cruisers.. Result of the battle: Three sinkers. 135k damage done. Two caps taken solo. Couple cap defenses. 1420 exp which was #1 spot for both teams. Fujin had 1405 or so and came a dead second More losses followed... and a win in my Vampire, which wasn't my doing, as I got sunk early, but not before I managed to sink an enemy DD... So... horrible teams... horrible winrate... horrible day... But tomorrow the RN DDs will be released and that surely will turn out to be a really good day... Hmmm... which low tier cruiser should I play tomorrow to show them their place? -
With this horrible change looming ahead, why should I even think about getting a CV to T10? I will stay at T4 with Hosho and Langley to punish all those nasty BaBBies when they are still young... Unlimited number of planes? Yay!

I don't expect subs to be of interest to the DD community, except as targets... Way more fun to use Depth charges to hunt them little buggers... -

Deckeru_Maiku replied to Deamon93's topic in General Discussion
I'm not a friend of the idea to implement subs into the game. Here's why: WG will definately eff-up implementing them. BaBBies will have another excuse to kemp bush because of now even more torpedo soup!! But there's one really good reason for subs being implemented in the game... Potatoes will flock to them, as they will appear as the "ultimate weapon" - invisible, powerful and deadly... Well.. and another reason... -
What's with the DD meta these days?
Deckeru_Maiku replied to NothingButTheRain's topic in General Discussion
I just play for fun There's some reasond for the lack of division play: I usually play during german early afternoon only I prefer to immediately leave a battle after getting sunk - happens often - and jump in the next ship... to get sunk again... rinse, repeat.. I don't really like T8+ play, which reduces the number of possible divisions.. and even though I think my winrate will rise like dough if I would play more divisions, it would also meant I would have to set back my personal interest for the common good of the division... solo I can dowhat I want and - when I see that I got a potato team again - go YOLO if I want to... Divisions would probably be boring, when I would do them with all those windowlickers from my clan (and allies). Just look at my division winrate... always winning would be boring soon, I guess.. -

Deckeru_Maiku replied to NothingButTheRain's topic in General Discussion
Radar... and too many dumb BaBBies kemping bush... sorry... islands instead of playing aggressive and giving support. Capping is for suiciders now with the phat radar meta... so I usually spot and see what my "allies" do. Usually they do nothing useful, so I go for damage, to get at least some exp out of the loss...
