What Were Your Greatest Gaming Achievements Today ?

Well, if You think WGs bots are badly programmed then You should be happy not to play Random battles, as many players make those bots look like Unicorns... *löl* Speaking of bots: after doing a couple not impressive Random battles today and gaining a 50% winrate I went full CoOp for some of the RN DD missions... Gathering 5mil "potential damage" and some other stuff is a wee bit easier when you take a Bismarck or Musashi and just pick them bots apart... The saddest thing about these CoOp battles is to see people still getting ra*ed by the bots... I'd still say there should be a mechanic in the game that keeps people from playing a ship in Random if they don't manage at least a 50% winrate in it in CoOp battles... yeah, the amount of players available for random battles might take a severe hit, but probably the quality of gameplay would be a wee bit better... *g*

What Were Your Greatest Gaming Achievements Today ?

The weekend, Cyber Monday and whatever-you-call-it Tuesday and Wednesday hit me with a stick with rusty nails in it... Again avery tough lesson learned - I'm nowhere near a Unicorn and not able to carry a full sack of potatoes on my shoulders... I did 44 battles in this time. And managed 16 wins... that's a 36.4% winrate *facepalm* And the worst thing is, in most of these battles I played like an utter potato, ignoring all hints that should have made me play a bit more passive, expecting to have no support etc. etc. instead of charging ahead and thinking it would turn out well... just to get sunk within the first five minutes of the battle... But then there were also a few of these: Shiratsuyu on Neighbours Domination... I started on the south-west side and as there were three DDs per team, I set course to the most southern cap (A?), which was closest to me... immediately someone wrote in chat "Ignore A, all go BC" and when I continued to A started pinging me on the minimap. Seems it didn't help that I managed to spot an enemy DD in B - which was ignored - and that there was only one (!) enemy ship - a DD - going to the same cap as I did... Our CV - great player.. - not only kept that DD spotted, but also dropped some bombs/torps on it, so I could finish it off. And when the edge-sneaking enemy CV's planes tried to wreak havoc on me our CVs fighters were there for the rescue... Seeing where the few surviving enemy planes went, I decided to go for the enemy CV as it had to be close and as he seemed skilled enough to make my further game miserable by keeping me spotted or worse.. and shortly after I spotted the CV and started sending shells at it. Little resistance, as all his teammates were busy sinking ships at B/C cap... He again tried to get me with some planes, but one fighter squadron of our CV was enough to keep them away from me, while I burned that CV down... Right then someone wrote in chat "That CV kill wasn't worth it"... well, considering the other 10 ships of my "team" had managed about nothing, B and C cap were red, with only four allied ships left (including me and the CV) and the enemy heading to cap A I thought different... In the end the CV and I managed to hold the #1 and #2 spot on the loser's side, with the CV having done four kills and me two... while the rest of the team had managed 1 total... And considering that this battle at least nearly took the full 20 minutes, this was one of the better games during the above mentioned period... *sigh* And yeah, I had some better games and some wins, too. Even one in the Shiratsuyu with 100k+ damage and an unicornish rating, due to doing lots of damage and some capping... but they all vanish from the memory due to all those ugly losses...

    teamplay is op

A good team consists of players that: want to win and play as if they want to win support the other players on their team to the best of their abilities know that winning > experience gained by doing solo damage It also helps if there is at least a marginal amount of tactical knowledge present in some of the players. Too bad that the number of times that I encountered "teams" in this game in random battles is close to about only 1% of the battles I did... And yes, I am guilty of "not playing for the team" often myself... usually when I see ships with not smoke coming from them smokestacks (or whatever they are called) after 2 minutes in the game or acute cases of utterly tactical idioty like Lemmingitis on the maps where it will only lead to desaster or people managing to ram/shoot at each other within the first 2 minutes of the game or.. or... or... Taking a look at the minmap and the chat for the first 2 minutes of the game usually allows for a very secure opinion to be made if you are in a "team" or "a bunch of players that will with a hight probability lose this battle no matter what you do".

    No T12 ever, dude...

    Black Friday containers...broken?

Yeah, I know... not really politically correct, right? I should really play all ships alike, without favouring a class or nationality or gend... oops... "I don't like those ships" is about as objective a reason I can think of. Haven't played my US BBs in quite a while (except the Arkham Horror B, which holds a special place in my heart...) due to them feeling all kinda meh to me. I don't like their looks... I don't like their playstyle (no real secondaries... meh...) and I don't like them, because they are US ships. It's about the same with US Cruisers and most russian ships.. I just can't find a way to like them enough to spend time playing them... So yes, I have utterly personal preferences which don't have to do anything with things like "performance". In some cases it even makes a ship that is supposed to play bad even more desireable for me... Looking at you, Crispy Creme... I just wonder why You think I might be "uninformed" about US BBs? I can read, You know... and if I wanted, I also could watch videos about them, which I don't think that useful, as I meet enough of them in battle to see what they can do and what they can't... And - funny fact - I didn't even say that I would consider US BBs as "bad". I just don't like them and the way they have to be played. There's some other ships available that are considered "great ships" or even "OP" which I also don't manage to like enough to make me play them. And yes, my reasons - as personal as they are - do relate to "Gameplay", just not to "Game Mechanics". US BBs aren't made for my playstyle, as potatoish it might be. I'd rather lick windows in the BBs of other nations. Maybe because they have game mechanical features I prefer, maybe I just find them more optically pleasant. In the end, I rather wonder why some people seem to be so utterly attacked personally to react like they did above, just because I don't like some pixels in a game... *lol*

    WOWS in year 2100

Considering the state our world is in already, climate change, not enough food to feed the growing population, possible "dinosaur club"-like asteroids, dangerous sun-spots, the possible position exchange of the magnetic poles, super caldera at Yellowstone and... and... and... especially the fact, that in the year 2100 I would have to be 140 years old to see it, I can say that I haven't spent a single second imagining how this game might look like then... ^^ Edit: though I guess it will still be full of potatoes... especially at T10

    Black Friday containers...broken?

12 quid for a Massachusetts? For me that sounds utterly OP - as in: overpriced - but that's just because I wouldn't pay anything at all for some ships and american BBs are on that list... ^^
  9. Deckeru_Maiku

Wg, isn't cossack a bit too much?

T8 MM and having to play with all those T10 potatoes needs a stronk ship to keep it at least halfway fun... Just imagine you wouldn't have those "OMG this ship is so effing OP" moments once in a while when getting lucky and ending in a T8 match ~10% of the time... having to endure the 90% T10 battles and the special players one meets there would just be... unbearable... ^^
  10. Just had fellow windowlickers @MortenTardo and @Owidel in my team... as could be expected all windows were bright and shiny afterwards. Did we win? Yeah.. sure...
  11. Deckeru_Maiku

    Wankx, you ok bro?

Could be worse.. could have been some of the stuff that americans consider being beer... (though there's some really nice ones being made in small regional breweries..)
  12. Deckeru_Maiku

Get pinky and go for 12 battles in coop

    That you're also lucky?
  13. Deckeru_Maiku

Black Friday Missions, 50k BASE XP

Uhm.. yes? Missions like this usually make people play like egoistic idiots, trying everything to maximise their exp gains (= damage, damage and even more damage) instead of playing to win the game (because they think more damage in a loss would give them more exp than less damage in a win) So yes, I'd rather see a different reward mechanic...

How fun are 7-8 min matches?

Well yes, sure... these short battles make WoWs feel like sex... a short burst of action and then it's over and you can light a cigarette or turn around to sleep... To be serious, I rather be done with a battle in the shortest possible time, when having such an amount of potatoes in either team that they get slaughtered like little piggies, than to stretch the battle out until the 20 minutes are over due to one enemy ship being able to run&hide.

    BUG: Thunderstorms in PvE Battles

So you mean WG either has a problem with capitalisation or programming?
  16. Deckeru_Maiku

    BUG: Thunderstorms in PvE Battles

Yeah, in random battles... compared to "in each battle" - so You only may encounter them randomly, not on a regular base... ^^

    Royal Navy Collection

Yeah, check your BB hitrate during the next days... RNGesus will make it plummet! ;)

    Royal Navy Collection

Well, I got two RN containers and both held the same AA collectible... so OP is not the only unlucky one...

Tier 10 Domination Games and Death Wish Destroyers

jepp, no way for that with those BBs/Cruisers on the left flank being overly aggressive *lol*

What Were Your Greatest Gaming Achievements Today ?

Had one of my "play like the rest of the team" days again, which resulted in a 33% winrate... *cough* The only battle worth talking about came in my Nelson, on hunt for the "damage a sh**load of ship components" RN DD mission... Nelson + shooting HE at everything except broadsided enemies = automatic success Battle was Domination on Fault Line once more... and I assisted two DDs and a Fiji in taking A from the north. DDs were a bit potato-ish again, as they first managed to spot and allow the Fiji and me to shoot at some targets showing up, then smoking up and cutting off our line of sights completely, leaving us blind.. shortly later the Fiji got annihilated by a BB salvo and one of the DDs got cruisered to death... the second DD an me managed to push the enemy back though (or sink one or two... not me though... I only did some damage) until the DD turned to the middle and I followed the enemy Gneisenau that retreated.. Lobbed some shots at an BB near the B cap, while going north, then west, to go after the last enemy ships. I stumbled into a Normandy at near full health, while my HP and heals already had taken some severe hits... But in the end we echanged killing salvos, which left my team in the lead and ahead on points, caps and ships far enough to carry the game home for a win... Only got one kill, but 108k damage and a sh**load of damaged/destroyed ship components to finish that mission...

    British cruiser question.

I've never got used to use WASD as movement control in ANY game I played, so I usually re-map movement keys to the arrow keys... and in WoWs I also remapped all consumables to the numbers pad of my keyboard... not sure if that would be an option for you, but all the needed keys are then way closer together... shift key is remapped to the gun view / magnifying glasses look mode, ammo choice etc are all on the numbers pad. As all those keys are close together it only takes a short glance to see where the fingers are... And somewhere I've seen some self-built (?) joystick-y thing that fits on the numbers pad and presses the keys when moved in any of the nine directions or down (for the 5). So I'd say, there's options available... just have to find those that You can do with.. good luck with that :)
  23. Deckeru_Maiku

Tier 8 MM after the change. Poll included.

Izumo bad? Darn... I knew I was doing something wrong... And yeah, I know I'm doing too little damage in mine, but that's true for all my BBs because I can't aim properly and shoot at every target that I can see, even if it's a DD 15km away instead of sitting behind an island waiting for the perfect killshot against a cruiser... So no, I don't think the Izumo is bad.. Nagato felt way worse to me...
  24. Deckeru_Maiku

    Big Bug

Not 100% sure, but it looks like a mix of english and gibberish, with a hint of trollish...
  25. Deckeru_Maiku

    Which premium BB

Mikasa... If You manage to get a 55% winrate and more than server average damage in that ship you can think about getting the next BB premium... not earlier...
