When a CV has been nasty to me and I'm looking for revenge, I either take it to T4 with my Yubari or T7 with the Sims... My max shot down planes ships per class: CV - Independence with 47 (average 12.86 per battle) BB - Gneisenau with 41 (only 3.31 per battle - CVs seem to evade it?) Cruiser - Myoko (AA specced *cough*) with 39 (average 6.23 pb) DD - Yubari with 24 (average 3.41 pb - due to so many T4/5 battles having no CVs at all... ) So yes, Gneisenau is a plane graveyard...

WG - can you please give us bots instead of players with 20k avd dam on T10
Deckeru_Maiku replied to Adm_Hoshiko's topic in General Discussion
Great idea... help them by making the game even easier (to fail at...) The question would be, how to "help them", when there's tons of players showing absolutely no intention to even TRY to get better? Give them advice in game chat? Sure, if you want to get flamed *edited*, it's just a game and I play it as I want to play it..." Make Youtube videos with "How to play class/ship"? Tons of those already available. Even some valid ones... Well, I got a solution... but one that never will be implemented: Have players start at CoOp only with every ship they get. Keep them playing CoOp only until they achieve at least a winrate of 50% over ten battles. Then they can take that ship to random battles. As soon as they get another ship, they have to do this for it too. 50% winrate against bots should be possible to achieve for even the most challenged players, right? -

Yesterday 99.24% - couple CoOps later it's 99.27% total CoOp winrate... and still boring.... ah, wait... there actually was a battle in which I really effed up early in my Sims, getting eliminated while taking out my bot-ish counterpart, that came to a close "two human BBs, one of which was obviously running a bot program* against one designated bot BB" finish. Luckily the "real" human player managed to sink the "real" bot, even though he hadm't played splendid before (nonetheless gathering three "mop up" kills). * signs why that guy must have used a bot program: sailed straight ahead to about the middle line of the map on the right flank, then stopped to shoot HE with his french BB at anything that got in range, without moving. Only when he was shot at by the last enemy ship he started moving again, still shooting HE. Didn't react in chat either... Doesn't matter in the end - missions got done, only ten more to go for the Greadnauhgt... In the Random Battle Depertment I had only time for three battles today, winning two... Lost in the Tachibana Lima... didn't do well against all those nasty sealclubbers ^^ Won in the Smith... nasty little torpedolobbing mothersinker... some people just can't handle single torpedoes been send in their general direction every couple seconds... ^^ Didn't manage a sinker, but 37k damage in a T2 ship isn't that bad I guess... And another win for the Krispy "My Armour Is Made From Stalinium To Withstand The Puny US BB AP Shells" Kreme. Had to do a lot of Dakka-dakka-dakka but finished off a Gremlin that got permaspotted by our CV (which it had intended to sink), while being shot at by a New York and a Danae, eating some hits, then burning down lots of the New York's hitpoints before the CV finished it off, then turning my interest to the Danae and sinking it and finally island-ambushing a König and torping it for the winning kill of the game... Three sinkers and 71k damage done in this win.. good result with the Krispy Kreme I guess. -

Had one of those on the Trap map (before it got reworked) seeing a cruiser disappearing behind the island north of B cap and sending out a volley into the blind, being rewarded with a citadel and a detonation of my target... I immediately send a "Oops.. sorry..." out in chat to the poor fellow.. and he took it with style.

What? Who? How? Thought I heard my name called, but now I see this is about T1 Competitve Play and I do all my sealclubbing educating of new players on T2 and above... Maybe I should get me a T1 too and have a look to see if it's even more fun down there in the vault...

My CoOp Crusade for the Dreadnaught continues... just checked: with the 100% winrate over 14 (or so..) CoOp battles today to do those two daily missions I went from 98.60% winrate at 01.12.18 to a stunning 99.24% winrate today... 179 CoOp wins in a row in December... horrible... I often start the battle with typing in chat: "May the better bots win!" especially if there are no (obvious) bots on the human team... today someone answered "The bots usually win 50% of the time" which kinda shocked me. I replied "not when I'm playing" and pointed to my 99% winrate and was reminded, that this would change after a couple 1000 battles... Dude... really? "A couple 1000 battles" in CoOp? I've done 376 now total and I'm bored as sh*t already, because it's too effing easy. But that guy seemed serious. He even stated, that "in Beta the bots were so good, WG tuned them down..." which to me - as a beta player- was utterly unbelievable. Bots always were terribly easy opponents. Only marginally better than the average human potato... Didn't make an attempt to remember the name of that guy, else I would probably have been shocked checking his stats and seeing a 50% CoOp winrate on a betatester account... ^^ On a more serious note: I went sealclubbing educating low tier players at T2 to T4 today and managed to gather some wins... I did good with a win in the Tachibana, sinking three enemies and doing 27k damage - mostly to the DDs I sunk I guess... while doing 30k damage done and 2 sinkers weren't enough to give me a win in the Smith... both games were equally fun though, and both were quite close which nowadays rarely happens in the higher levels... -

I've seen quite a lot good CV gameplay today... alas, I was mostly playing CoOp and so a human CV player dominating his bot opponent should be expected... but then in some battles the MM awarded us with a bot CV vs bot CV setting... and the bot did play better than many human CV potatoes I've experienced in game... kinda.. worrying... -
I love posts like the OPs... I always hope it was me who was the reason for such a mental implosion... ^^

New life for Tier 2 to Tier 4 Premium ships
Deckeru_Maiku replied to DanSilverwing's topic in General Discussion
Had some fun today after the tedious "get xxx base exp from wins" (which I do in CoOp) by taking out my Tachibana, Tachibana L, Smith, Mikasa, Katori and Yubari for a ride... Most of those battles were quite close right to the end... not one team facerolling the other one in five minutes like it happens in the higher tiers nowadays all of the time... And considering the amount of "clanned" players in those battles, this is probably as far away from sealclubbing as it can get ^^ -
Yepp, that's at least 5% better than the average WoWs player

WoWs flaws and how to fix them (maybe)
Deckeru_Maiku replied to FixCVs_Nautical_Metaphor's topic in General Discussion
I wanted to use the "if you can't say something nice about it, better say nothing at all" approach, but if you insist.... I don't really see any need to change anything at all. When I go "sealclubbing" I usually see more sealclubbers than seals in the battles, which usually go for clubbing each other first, so they can then harvest the surviving seals... I see the problem not so much in the lower tiers, but in the atrocious gameplay that evolves, when potatoes manage to go further in the Tier structure than their skills should allow them to. And in my eyes that is a much more vital problem, because it turns experienced players away from the game, because the have to not only fight the enemy team, but also the incompetence of their teammates, which gets a tad bit boring after a while. -

Carpet Bombing -> drop Bombs on an area, not a ship -> bomb DDs/RN Cruisers in smoke... because radar isn't enough to keep them from being nasty to WGs moneymaker class #1 ^^ -

Well, no longer selling the OP ships* is what WG already does, isn't it? And how would we define OP? In my Kamikaze I have 517 Battles, 56.09% winrate, 42k average damage and 1.37 average kills. Mostly done with my 19pts captain. Then there is my Minekaze: 519 Battles, 56.87% winrate, 37k average damage and 1.16 average kills. This ship has been nerfed. I use it with a 10pt captain right now and some others with even less point before... So... how "OP" is the Kamikaze compared to the Minekaze? Yes, some ships are able to do quite well in the hands of a player who knows how to use them. But no ship transforms a Potato into a Unicorn. And no ship transforms a Unicorn into a Superunicorn. So "nerfing ships" is in my opinion utter crap. How to keep seals from being clubbed? Let them play in a protected area for longer? Don't let them buy high tier ships and take them to battle until they have more experience? I don't know... not my job anyway, 'cause that should be in WGs interest to find out. -

Just had @Ferry_25 on my team in a CoOp battle - still doing those dreaded Dreadnaught "get xxx base exp from wins" - in his Indianapolis. As usual when I'm recognised in game I'm afraid to do something stupid, but this time my little polish DD was sneaky enough so I survived, got some 3 sinkers, a win and enough base exp to be done with those missions (and CoOp) for the day... Can't say how @Ferry_25 did - except that he got sunk after managing two kills - because he was sinking them bots on the other side of the map. Hope to meet You in a real battle next time ;) -

Still managed to to go on with the "Hunt for the Dreadnaught" missions in CoOp without dying of boredom, even though it's about as interesting as watching apple slices slowly turning brown... Had only 3 hours sleep last night, so I decided to do my daily mission run early. Took out the Sims once more for the first and the Tripitz B for the last battles... Bots are still dumb, but what sometimes worries me a bit is that there's still human players in those CoOp battles that manage to get sunk without doing anything marginally helping to win the battle... Luckily it doesn't matter... one or two competent players probably could win any CoOp battle alone... -
Sometimes you even have to reboot the PC before restarting the game... getting back into battle and still being not sunk is a kind of miracle then usually... ^^
-
I've been playing CoOp for the Dreadnaught missions for a couple days now. Though CoOp is boring as hell, it at least doesn't require having a team with people actually able to use their brains, which is a great bonus compared to Randoms... I haven't played much CoOp before - only to test new ships and do some of the more stupid "kill x ships" or "get xxx secondary hits" for missions - but since I kinda concentrate on CoOp my winrate has gone from 98.3% (or so...) to 99.2% - or to say it different: I have not lost a CoOp battle for quite a long time... About once every 10 battles or so I manage to be a bit stupid or too aggressive and get sunk, but usually surviving the battle is the normal result. The bots are utterly effing stupid. Once you manage to work out how they "tick" you can harvest them for damage and kills without problems... Right now for the Dreadnaught - "get xxx base exp / get xxxx base exp from wins" - Missions there's two ways - for me - to optimize exp/time ratio: for the first 200/500/1000 exp missions I take the Sims. Just a 10 pt captain skilled for long range dakka-dakka. Sail straight ahead towards the enemy, kill the first DD that shows up, start smoke and dakka-dakka-dakka away at everything that comes for you. My Sims stats right now are 23 battles (most of them recently), 100% winrate, 53k average damage, 1.74 average sinkers... as Sims is fast and kinda nimble, you can also make the fight more interesting by going in circles around your target BB during torpedo launcher reload... ^^ for the 1200/1300/1500 exp from win missions I use the Tripitz B I've got from one of my Extremely Pigmented Friday containers (with my Bismarck captain) skilled for secondaries. Pont bow at the middle of the map and follow a DD (when possible) while HE is loaded (unless there's less than 2 DDs per side, then stick to AP). Continue to sail straight to the middle of the map and annihilate everything the bots can offer. Stats with Tripitz B are a bit worse than Sims, due to slower speed and good chances to miss some enemy ships at the flanks, with 47 battles, 100% winrate, 60k average damage (yes, I shoot at everything... DDs, Cruisers, BBs whatever is in range...) and 1.36 average kills Even though Sims seems to be doing more damage/kills it gives less base exp due to lower tier MM and for me going into a knife fight with the Tripitz is just more enjoyable after some dakka-dakka-dakka battles... Oh and I think the low amount of exp/money from CoOp battles is absolutely okay. There's still some utterly braindead players around that manage to completely eff-up even against the brainless bots, who shouldn't be able to gather exp through damage and getting sunk fast to tier up too fast. There's enough of that breed in random battles already...

200% Winrate again... and Dreadnaught Mission at 22/40 I have to admit, waltzing all over those poor little bottyseals gets a bit tiring after the first couple days. So I try to do it a bit different each day. Like today, when I used my Izumo in a couple battles - not that it would make much of a difference to using the Musashi - and even the Sims - which, of course, didn't meet a CV while in all other battles of the day there was one in battle 90% of the time. Oh, and my total CoOp winrate over now 344 battles got upped to 99.13% Because I lost at least some battles in the last couple years due to lost connections or stupidy or due to playing too aggressive I'll never be able to achieve a 100% CoOp total winrate... but 99.9% is an option.. -

And he saw it like this On a more serious note: 200% Winrate again today... Yes, Krasny Krim was successful in another battle... T7 this time. right at the start I ended up against an overwhelming superior enemy force on the right flank of Estuary (standard mode, south spawn) which of course made me turn heel and run like crazy, lobbing shots "over my shoulder" at everything in reach, even managing a killing shot on some poor T6 cruiser... Then an enemy König tried to hunt me, but getting set on fire a couple times and then noticing a Cesar's Sald lurking behind me, he thought better of it and started running away.. So without anyone close trying to sink me, I set course to the enemy cap, looking for virtually ANY target at all... but as soon as I managed to lob some shots at some of the last surviving enemies, they were sunk with my shells still being in the air... Nonetheless, when only the enemy CV - a Bogus - was left and I was already going full speed through the enemy cap, I managed to land the killing shot at nearly maximum range against it (with our CV seconds away from torping it and two other ships shooting at it, too). So... two sinkers, 44k damage and a win... Well and then there were a few *cough* CoOp battles in the Yugumo and Tripitz B. Only two in Yugumo with okay-ish results damage- and sinker-wise and quite a few in the Tripitz B with me yolo-ing towards the enemy like Butch Cassidy and The Sundance Kid in Bolivia, just getting slightly better results than those two. In the end I even got +karma'd for being the sole survivor in one battle and then nearly landing the killing shot against the last enemy, if he hadn't been torped from the grave by the DD he sank seconds before with my shells still in flight... Sooo... yeah, CoOp feels like taking sweets away from a sleeping baby. A baby, that has been suckling on momma's bosom and is now well fed and tired and sleeping and not giving a flying eff about the sweets you are going to take away from it. -

I just had it happen today after I killstealed in CoOp... some DD had set my Bot Counterpart (= Nelson) aflame. Nelson was the last visible target (enemy CV was not yet spotted) and I was just some 15 km away from it.. so I waited to see if it would go down from the flames, but it didn't. As the flames died and it started to heal up I shot a salvo HE at it, set it aflame again and it burned down... Player accused me in chat and I tried to explain that there's no killstealing in WoWs as only a dead enemy is no longer a thread... and after the battle one of my superior clan officials PM'ed me. I explained what had happened and he told me, he "had told the bot to GTFO and put him on the ignore list already anyway". I love my fellow windowlickers! -

I outdid myself today: 200% winrate! 100% Winrate in Random Battles... well, Random Battle (without the s) as I only played one in the Krispy Kreme. Ended up in a T6 battle Faultline Domination, southern side, with a Ryujo and Independance on our team and a double whopping Independances on the enemy team... our Ryujo player proved his skill by whining in the course of "we are all doomed... two Impedances... omg.. we already have lost" - and here's poor old me who thinks a Ryujo can eat an Impedance for Breakfast and ask for seconds... In the end I didn't do much except for helping a Graf Spee with annoying enemy Cruisers and BBs at the C cap and making sure it wasn't capped by them. So no kills and only 43k damage for me, but we won the game... Oh.. and that Ryujo of course got sunk and of course he complained in chat after ~5 minutes in the battle that his fighters had been totally wiped out by enemy cheating yadda.. yadda.. yadda... Oh #2 - the enemy Independences ended up with exactly zero kills... Poor little Ryujo boy seems to never have met some proper CV potatoes *lol* The other 100% winrate came from my quest to fulfill those two "daily missions" for the Dreadnaught Mission Chain... I started easy in the Nelson for the first three parts. It's not really tanky, but bots are too dumb to get really dangerous, especially not the enemy Bot in my counterpart Nelson, which usually shoots AP all the time, independend on the angle of the target - yeah, real BaBBy level - and thinks nothing about showing me in my Nelson his broadside at 10 klicks - and of course I have loaded AP to give him a nice 39k damage of unrepairable love... The most fun part came in the last battle though, when after going into a knifefight with half the bots and not going down I looked around for the next target... enemy CV and the bot Nelso were left. CV still not spotted, the Nelson some 15km away or so, burning... I didn't shoot it immediately - no need in wasting ammo - but as the flames died and it started repairing I send the HE I had loaded it's way and soon it burned down. And some Noob exploded in chat... I was a Killstealer! And I was supposed to shoot at more dangerous targets! And of course I was reported! I tried to explain in chat - while setting course in the direction of the now spottted CV - that a) there's no killstealing in WoWs as b) even a 1hp enemy (= Nelson) is dangerous enough to be a thread Didn't keep him from sending a PM to a Senior Officer of UNICS... who told him to GTFO and put him on the ignore list *lol* I just love my fellow windowlickers! For the next part I took my - still quite new - Tripitz B for a ride (even in the *shudder* black camo it comes with) and I have to admit, it was quite fun to just sail straight ahead at the direction where the enemy bot would be coming from, guns blazing away and sending torps at stuff getting in range... I got sunk once, but mostly the bots were to potaotish to get me down... And the last couple battles for the second task I did in the Yugumo. Felt terrible to sink old those poor little helpless T9/T10 bots... but hey, 450 exp per battle with 5 minutes playtime per battle is quite efficient when one is just after wins and some exp... So.. 18 done, 22 to go... if I can keep the speed up I'll have the Dreadnaught before x-mas
