    T8 Matchmaking...

But T10 has the utterly most boring meta and the most potatoes in the game... so you would give up better play at < T10 for being always toptier in the boringest Tier there is... And no, for me the matchmaking hasn't changed a bit with the "change". Still most of the time you end up in a battle with several T10 when playing a T8. The only thing that really changed is, that now T8 CVs regularly get effed over by getting placed in battles with T10 BBs and Cruisers that eat their planes as soon as they get closer to them. So for me it was the typical WG solution - looking nice as long as it isn't put into the game, which is when the real problems show up...

Uhm... I've got some nice beaver's tail recipe from a german (!) monastery... so it probably wasn't "due to famine" - at least not in Europe - but because catholic monks decided to enlargen their menu a bit, by adding about each creature living in the water into the "fish" category, therefor making it an acceptable meal for those fishy fridays.

Okay, had a chance to play a few *cough* battles late in the evening and was somehow surprised by not getting handed utter potato teams most of the time... Just wanted to how much more cred/hour random would give compared to CoOp.. Inconclusive I'd say... I mean, I did 10 battles, winning 8 of them.. that's pretty unusual.. and I got some weird battles handed... I mean, doing a 104k damage battle in the Jean Bart with 0 - zero - kills and still getting 500k creds handed for the 1st win IS weird... (same camo and flags as mentioned above, do about half of the total was bonus) Sooo... battles do take longer. A couple even lasted the full 20 minutes... whereas in CoOp 10 minutes usually is max.. but when you get lucky and get good teams, like I did today, random does give more creds... if you get handed the sack of potatoes though, you have to go for damage, damage, damage... and that might not turn out as easy as in CoOp with those suicidal bots...
  4. I met @Boris_MNE too tonight... he was on the enemy team though and I had the honour to stuff some shells into his Henri 4 (iirc) but had the displeasure to see him getting sunk by someone else.. :( Winning the game smoothed that displeasure out, though ^^

IJN Torpedoes are still way too detectable.

Have not seen this mentioned yet: Usually DDs have - *gasp* - more than one torpedo launcher... what if.. just if... one would use the first torps as a tool to make the BB move where you want it to be for the other launcher(s)'s torps to hit? People usually have tendencies they follow in certain situations.. like, the direction they turn to when dodging something coming at their ship... so sometimes just watching the target might help to see in which direction he will turn when torps come in, and then send the additional torps there...
  7. So, @MrConway, what happens when everyone and their uncle will jump to one of the following alternatives to being used as a guinea pig: go full CoOp to see how the WG CV bots will work with the the new CV mechanics or go full LowTier (T3/4) to avoid meeting too many OP CVs or just stop playing for a couple of months until the chaos has been sorted out And why should anybody really expect WG to react on customer responses about "this sh*t is never gonna working, because..." when all input coming from the experienced CV players - which I ain't - has been nearly 100% ignored, and instead this... monstrosity... of a concept will be implemented? I do not expect ANY feedback given by players to be taken serious enough to change what the all-knowing people at WG dreamed up after one of those "Way too much Vodka" office parties.. As I wrote, I'm not a good CV player... but when 0.8.0 hits, I'll try to abuse the sh*t out of the T4 CVs I've got... clubbing as many seals as possible as hard as possible...

Progress is not that fast... Nearly done with IJN and between a couple hundred k creds for US, French, Italian, Brits and German... and a bit for Russian, but as I only play Krispy Kreme from the russian trees... ah well... For US I use the Sims. Getting around 100k per battle (CoOp, no Premium, +40% due to flags) can be done with little luck or effort. For IJN it's about all high tier IJN ships I got... and that's about the same for all other nations... I don't know if there's more cred reward for the first win of the day - is there? - but I try to give my different high tiers a chance. As I see it, the ships to go for are "the fast and the furious (= the hard hitters)" as one needs to do some damage... So DDs that can take out bot controlled DDs solo and BBs that can dish out loads of damage probably are the best choices... unless one has a "money maker" ship with special payout rate (like the Sims is, afaik) Tried missions... didn't work out that well.. and the times when I play and the stuff I have to do at the same time - housekeeping ;) - usually keep me from divisioning... Thanks for the offer though :)

No need to keep it behind the bush... just say "in the USofA pizza counts as a vegetable for school meals" They also think that starbucks sells coffee and that the coffeemakers at a starbucks deserve the title "barista" And they think a "Wiener Sausage" is to be spelled "Weiner"

I'm doing the PEF 4.000.000x6 grind right now... in CoOp... so nothing to report here.. business as usual.. 100% winrate... One special moment was, though, when in a battle I managed to explode a Yamato with a salvo from my Musashi into it's broadside at ~15 km or so... Got a citadel marker and an instant 90k damage, so that bot probably forgot to equip the anti-detonation flag?

    Last Prinz directive

& I really can't understand the problem ome people seem to have with the Krispy Kreme... It's the utmost trollship. Especially when I get into a T7 battle so many players just seem to ignore me and the plink-plink-plink damage the Kreme does.. until the fires start... 53% winrate and 35k average damage is not that much, but also not too bad... And Mikasa... well, it's Mikasa... it's THE "Russians can hold a grudge for a very long time" ship. One has to have it just for that reason... The Dork.. ah well.. yeah... it's british though, which always counts as an excuse... As I've got some free time, I guess I might be able to gather those 24 million credits in CoOp battles... The thinking behind that is... each battle is a win the battles don't take more than 10 minutes max lots of bots ready to throw themselves into your shells... so lots of damage done.. and lots of credits... even though one might get more credits from a won random battle, you would have to spend more time and have even a bit of luck to do the same amount of damage as in CoOp.. and CoOp is way less frustrating..

Concealment - this cant be right???

Please ignore those 1 to 100 ratings when comparing ships' abilities... they are utter ox feces. Ship data with the proper visibility values in km and the descriptions of all items/skills that can influence them can be found here
  13. Had @MrWastee in the enemy team in a battle today. Exchanged pleasantries and promised to sink him, but got utterly devastaded by half the enemy team pushing on the flank that I defended alone in my Duke of Hearts (= Duca d'Aorta *cough*). So instead of shells he had to be satisfied with +Karma...

    armor penetration of Warspite

Dude... did he take that video from some PC with an old EGA 16 colours graphic card? I don't remember my display showing the action that foggy except when in smoke... And an enemyship ~6 km away and secondaries not firing at it??? That can't be a Warspite... ^^

    Lower tiers vs High tears

But low tiers / medium tiers is, quoting the words of Forest Gump's mother, like a box of chocolates: you never know what you gonna get... Sometimes it's seals and sealclubbers... sometimes it's only sealclubbers and sometimes - not that often - it's Unicorns United... And in T10 it's "Potato Time 24/7" from my limited experience... those few battles with T8/T9/T10 ships I got that ended in T10 battles...

What was especially surprising was that BOTH teams were utterly stupid... and neither me or the Roon were exceptions - we were just lucky that all the others were more retarded than we were I guess... I mean, I ran away from the lemming train to find a safe spot to survive and stumbled into some straightsailing potatoes I could sink... no brains needed for that, just luck
  17. Deckeru_Maiku

    What If?

I'd be okay with that. I mean, it's not that much different to losing a battle due to potatoes doing potato things... with this change, there would at least be the chance to get rid of some of them... Yes I can... and wouldn't it be fun to read all those unqualified whining posts? ^^ Seems I fail to see the difference of being rammed to death or pushed out of my smoke and then shot by the enemy... oh, wait... in the first case that mentally challenged BB player might turn pink and have to play CoOp for a while... so.. that would be a plus...
  18. Deckeru_Maiku

    What If?

Ah, but that's okay... either he's a potato too, so it's "kill two horses with one stone" or he isn't, then he does some battles in CoOp and is back to random in a whiffy, while the real potato will continue to hump allied ships - even bots - in CoOp and stay there 'til the end of time or WG stops the servers (whatever comes first)

No sealclubbing, he says... using a Vampire, he does... Sealclubbing confirmed! ^^ Bah... do that in the Krispy Kreme... Stalin's lovechild with Mother Russia... Made from pure Stalinium, fueled by Vodka... On that remark - my daily battle in the Krispy Kreme saw me causing 55k damage (in a T7 standard match) and a sinker (some poor blobb in an Ochotnik who thought he could win trading salvos with a KK), but then getting downed by four enemy ships - BBs and cruisers - sailing into our cap, while four of our five other surviving ships were hunting a single enemy ship at A10 (or J1? J10? A1? - well, the right corner of the map on the enemies' side) which of course made the battle end with a loss for us... brains, so few players find a use for their's Apart from that, I had a couple of good games that were lost (97k damage, 2 sinkers in the Jean Bart, 80k damage, 2 sinkers in the Richelieu) and some really bad games that were won... And one really strange game... Me in the Shiratsuyu, map Mountain Range, standard mode, starting north... Only one T9 Cruiser per team, rest T8 and T7s, three DDs per side, T8 CVs I decided to move slowly south, trying to spot something and not getting annihilated immediately... even before I spotted any enemy, two of our BBs were sunk. The team had decided to lemming down the western flank and the middle was open (except for me - lol) as was the right flank... To me it looked like a fiasco coming fast... so I wrote in chat to all: "GG team red, my team lemmings so it will be an easy win for you..." and then made my way to the eastern flank, to avoid the lemming horde and see if I could maybe stay alive 'til the end... then things got really weird... On the eastern flank, I spotted two enemy ships, a Fiji and a Lolorado... I sent some torps their way, missing the Fiji, but scoring a hit on the Lolo.. I even shot my guns at the Fiji, while slipping behind an island and heading north, waiting for my torp launchers to reload. As I had staggered my salvos, two launchers were ready soon again, and I send two salvos in the general direction of where I expected the Fiji to come around from an island... and sailed down right behind them, to do some mopping up when needed... Utterly unexpected the Fiji really DID come around the island at the expected position. It must have been sailing straight ahead, even though I had been visible before... three torp hits... BOOM.. sinker... Wow, I thought. That worked better than I had hoped... lets try that again... and so I sailed in the direction, where the Colorado had to be. It got spotted by our CV, while I was molested by the enemy CV's planes - had to duck in smoke for a moment - but still managed to send torps right behind another island that Colorado would come around, if the player was really, really, REALLY stupid or blind. And he was... Boom... Lolorado down... Wow... really? Now I had a little time to take a look on the minimap, expecting to see a loss being really close. And I was in for another surprise: We were ahead by points (!) and both teams were nearly fully depleted. Our side still had me and our Roon. The enemy team consisted of their CV - Lexington I think - and a Gadjah Mada. The CV kept some fighters around me, to keep me spotted. Our Roon steamed straight ahead towards the enemy cap... So I started my speedboost and followed it... After taking down the last two fighters that had circled around me, I got invisible once more.. until I stumbled into the Gadjah Mada... trading shots, being lucky dodging some, and in the end I survived and the GM didn't... Cheers in the chat.. only a minute or two to go... in the chat someone wrote "Hide, Deckeru..." and I answered "Nah... I can be as idiotic as the rest of the team... I go a'cappin'" - "hmm.. yeah, you're right, go for it..." Roon was in the cap. I entered too. Fighters came up to spot me... and then... right when the torpedo planes appeared in my view... tic-toc-tic-toc... game over and a win... ^^ Result: 96k damage done. Three sinkers achieved. Survived. Eight (!!!) planes shot down (6 fighters and 2 torp bombers). Not a single +Karma got ^^ (probably hadn't done enough to win the game...)

    What If?

#1 - yes #2 - no #3 - yes And a bit more detailed: #1 anything that calls for people being less oblivios to their surroundings is potentially a good idea. Doing the same, full damage might be a wee bit too much though. I guess 50% of the damage that would be done to an enemy ship should be enough #2 The problem would be, that many players still would sail on, eyes glued to the periscope view, oblivious to their surroundings - allies, enemies, torpedoes, planes, islands, Godzilla coming from the depths of the waters... - and all those potatoes would still potate as hard as always. But at least they would be penalized by getting damage, which might enhance the chances that they get sunk by enemies earlier and therefor removed from battle. Or they might even turn pink and get restricted to play only CoOp sooner or later, which would also be a positive result, as they wouldn't bugger the less potatoish players any longer... #3 As said under #2, it might help to get potatoes to play where they fit better than in random battles -> CoOp - which I think would be a very beneficial result

Musashi, to push or not to push

I'm only a potato in the Musashi (116 battles, 79k average damage, 0.77 average kills, 62.93% winrate...) so all I write here is probably against all what really good players would say: Step 1 - don't charge ahead... take your time to asssessss (sorry, not sure about the number of s's needed for that) the situation. So half speed ahead and rather at a 45° angle and not straight to the enemy... Step 2- when You see a nice spot with many juicy targets and the chance to keep your flanks/broadsides from getting involuntarily penetrated, it's time to steam ahead, all guns blazing, sticking shells in each and every enemy ship that makes the mistake to get into your line of sight. Step 3 - steam even further ahead... probably all of your team will ignore your push and you will go down in a Blaze Of Glory, but there is a small chance that you a) take down a ship or two, or at leas damage them so much that your team has no problems finishing them off. Or b) that the enemies are potatoes, that suddenly see a big phat Japanese BB charging at them, making them turn heel and try to not be the ship getting in this deathbringing moloch's way... which allows you to push even further, causing even more chaos in the enemies' line and raising the chances for a win... Or it's option c) (happens quite often) You sail into your burning death, while the rest of the team potatoes around for another 8 minutes before they all have been send to the bottom of the sea.. if you immediately leave the battle when sunk to start a new battle in a different ship this will spare you a lot of time...

White "GG"s with a devastating win

200% with you on that. The problem seems to be that the "GG infestation" has started somewhere else in other online games, probably somehwere where mostly underaged kids play, who are told to treat their opponents kindly and that winning isn't really important, but playing in the company of others is... all that political correctness BS older players like me - born 1960 - never was buggered with... One situation I often use the GG is when the enemy team is actively wiping out "my" team in the first 10 minutes of the battle and a loss is obvious and not avoidable.. So "GG team red - you'll defeat this sack of potatoes" is something you might see posted by me... ^^
  24. Deckeru_Maiku

    Lower tiers vs High tears

Don't know how you come to these conclusions... "taboo zone for good players"??? With so many sealclubbers - like me - around in low tiers, there's usually more clubbers than seals and nothing is more fun to club a clubber. And from what I usually see in low tiers, there's quite a few T19 captains and players with at least 5k+ battles around there. "Noobzone"??? You don't go down there often, do you? And I think it's great that WG "discourages" players to go down to the lower tiers. Keeps many of those "only got time for one battle a day" potatoes away who rather do those interesting *cough* missions than have interesting battles.. From what I seem to see, the number of players that have not yet reached a player level to allow for using camos is very low in low tier battles. There's usually more players with a clan tag than ones without and what clan would welcome a total newbie in it's ranks? Add to that the number of flags (not those bonus ones, but those for stuff like "US Cruiser Mission" etc) usually on those "low tier players' ships" and I would say the number of new players in that tier range is rather small... Doesn't mean there's fewer potatoes though... although... usually there are fewer potatoes around in low/medium tier battles than in T10 battles *cough*

    CV player Poll

Right now I rarely play my CVs... usually only either my T4s to annoy some seals and/or their clubbers or anything up to T7 in CoOp for missions asking for planekills or whatever... After the rework, I will play my T4 CVs (and other T2 to T4 ships) a lot... just to dodge the bullet of getting unwillingly intercoursed by the new CV mechanics in higher tiers myself. To #4 - this utterly stupid change of game mechanics will cause severe damage to the gameplay. It will take several months trying to iron out any bugs, before WG might (!!!) notice their fault and either pull CVs off the game permanently (which I would despise) or at least until they managed to think of an even more ridiculous mechanic for CVs to implement... It's really too bad that WG was not able to listen to the experienced CV players, that offered help and advise how to change the current RTS mechanic into something that would have worked. But hey, what do players know about this game, right? They should just stfu and spend their money on it...
