Are you still enjoying the game or you are going to uninstall?
Deckeru_Maiku replied to Jean_Bart's topic in Archive
"People like me" You say? Like... people who play about all classes - except CVs - the same percentage of battles? And no, BaBBy and "good BB player" aren't interchangeable for me. I've seen quite a s**tload of both types during my battles. Quite a few more BaBBies than good BB players though... And I must admit, I don't give a flying eff about any twitch/U-tube/whatever_stream_you_want... Haven't even seen many... so I can't be bothered if anyone keeps whatever ships in his harbour. I'm still using all the classes I used before the change and can't really say that there is any that would have to rot in harbour. "Don't like Your DD games"? Can't remember having seen You in a DD in a battle, so there's nothing to like or dislike for me.... And my signature is still there... maybe You changed the setting to display it? -
impact bad CV player versus good CV player changed?
Deckeru_Maiku replied to RamboCras's topic in General Discussion
Yep. I think it got a lot worse than before. With the old CV mechanics, the bad CV player had at least the chance to do something useful like spotting or assigning Fighter planes to some ships as additional AA defence. Now it's mostly about damage, and the bad player will not do enough of it.. while a good player not only knows how to use his attack planes, but also where to use the fighter consumable... You get a potato CV in your team, chances are high that it will lose you the battle. -

No need to waste any Karma on You... You still don't know the difference between a BB player and a BaBBy and I don't expect you to learn it anytime soon.. or ever... And considering the "average skill level"... it's about the same for players of all classes. Or as I like to say it: the average skill level is way below the average -
Krispy Kreme is hit or miss... When you get hit in it... you get HIT!!! But when You're lucky and have some nice island waifus around you and some T6 or T7 BBs that think they can ignore you THINGS happen... Like to me today - just a T5 battle though - where I managed 96k damage, two sinkers and 19 shot down (T4 mostly) planes... and a win... So Krispy Kreme can be fun... but it sometimes also can be utterly useless...
-
Krispy Kreme needs no buff - only a scouting plane for even more range and even more fantastic "Rainbows Of Fiery HE Love" tm And I guess WG will make the Russian BBs as historically correct as possible... everybody knows they have the best blueprints available for them... Dunno.. I only got two balls to juggle with.. ^^

Considering the player nicknames visible in game I would expect a flood of utterly retarded named ships.

Cv rework poll - keeping dementia at bay
Deckeru_Maiku replied to loppantorkel's topic in General Discussion
I'll be 59 in summer and I still do my best to try to keep this game fun for me... Right now that means: sold all non-premium ships from class/country combinations I don't really played that much or want to play in the future meaning - US Cruisers... didn't ever like them much, so it was good bye for them - all russian non-premium ships... now I probably still have a larger russian navy than the russians had around WWII Lower tiers get even more priority for me than before. Right now I don't see a bit of motivation to try to get any more classes/nations to T10 (except for Yamato.. want to have her..) If WG continues to mess with the game and reduce my fun when playing it, I am sure I will find some other way to spend my free time... right now that point is not yet (!) reached, but it gets closer with every dumb design change WG introduces... -
Which forum members have you seen in random battles?
Deckeru_Maiku replied to Cobra6's topic in General Discussion
Had @Flambass in a british CV (Audacious I think?) my team today with a division of his clanmates. The enemy team got quite salty right when the battle started, but for no real reason, as @Flambass only managed to get the #2 slot of the winning team (ours ^^) right behind a terrible kill-stealing Des Moines... Your's truly (= me) ended at the #3 spot in my Jean Brat... with some nicely done 165k damage and two sinkers done... would have been more if not for two getting stolen by the DM... ^^ -
What do you like about patch 0.8.0?
Deckeru_Maiku replied to Miscommunication_dept's topic in General Discussion
Uhm... how about no? More balanced? He has no need to dominate his potato CV opponent - he can just ignore him... under the old system he had to use at least some fighters to keep the potato from damaging or sinking potatoes meaning he had to put at least some thought at something other than just sinking ships. Now he can use all of his attention to molest the ships of other classes, knowing that a potato controlled CV will have a hard time to do more than sink some DDs or Cruisers... -

Deckeru_Maiku replied to Miscommunication_dept's topic in General Discussion
What do I like about the 0.8.0? Nothing really... Graphic fluff is just that... fluff, and therefor useless. None of the CV "problems" from before the patch have been solved - they mostly have been made worse. Players are even more afraid of CVs than before and gameplay got therefor worse than before. A unicorn (or even only slightly competent) CV player still can do what he wants on the map against a potato CV player... and the other classes are the canonfodder as before.. I'll wait a bit and then decide what other game looks more interesting until the CV problem has been solved.. so like... 2024 or so... -
Feedback about the Perth: The change in duration for ship based fighter planes has effed up the smoke gameplay of the Perth, which had been probably the only ship using smoke able to spot it's own targets. This is now reduced to only 60 seconds. Which is utterly BS. Any chance for a refund?

This whole new concept of "CV" is a disaster.

Fine.. now show some results of you using a T4 CV ^^ -
DD 0.8.0 The murder of an entire ship type

Nothing wrong with it... It was more about some pu-ish title... like... Columbia - the clubber in clover -

You mean she would be a (plane) clubber, right? ^^ -
DD 0.8.0 The murder of an entire ship type
Deckeru_Maiku replied to Lady_godiva_s's topic in General Discussion
I played quite a shipload of battles yesterday and today and the CVs had a large effect on my gameplay. Or rather on the teams I had to play with... as most of them stood like deer on a street in the night, with the headlights of a truck approaching... I've seen probably the most passive gameplay by all types of ships EVER today. I did 13 battles today and only in one I got sunk by a CV. And that was in a 20% hp left Yubari with a damaged rudder... that got torped by a Hosho *cough* Even when playing T9 and T10 DDs I usually could try to do my normal business, as there only was one CV and two or three DD per side, so the CV couldn't be everywhere... but it seems all the BBs and Cruisers were stiff with fear of the mighty T10 CVs and so they just stayed way back from any action... and no support kills DDs as fast as rocket shooting planes... So... it's not CVs that make the game a horrible experience right now. It's people having got too much "CVs are the greatest killers in game now" fake news and trying their best to be useless and don't look like a target so they don't get sunk and have to pay the - non existing - extra repair cost. -
You got a Sims? 'Cause with the now longer torp range - no more suicide torping Yay! - the Sims was utter fun to play for me today... She can only meet T6 or T8 CVs... and usually the CV isn't the high tier ship in the team, so probably she meets way more victims T6 CVs than T8's If you want to go lower - and cruiser - take your Yubari for a ride... it's hilarious what she does to those T4 planes now... really.. you'll love it...
-
Easy solution: play low tier DDs (T4 are perfect, as they only can meet the utterly harmless T4 CVs) ^^
-
There seems to be a little misunderstand on your side... My Yubari never "gathered dust". I played her often and with fun. Even though her AA ability was nerfed quite hard shortly after the Beta. Alas, the average of only 3.45 planes shot down per battle - over 522 battles - also results from a severe lack of CVs in many of those battles... Today I only played her on one battle... and those poor little T4 CVs - which are the only ones she can meet from now on - lost 20 planes to her without scoring any meaningful damage in return. So for me there's fun times ahead.. lots of planes falling from the sky. And I don't expect players learning "How to CV" to change that. Unless WG gives the T4 CVs a severe buff. And even then it probably won't get worse than before this patch. See, no need to relax... I'm going to have a lot of fun with my Yubari (and my Sims, too) in the future... ^^
-
I hope you spend a lot of time learning "How to CV" on T4, so I have a chance to meet you with my Yubari, which seems to have returned to the glorious times in and right after Beta, when she wiped out whole shiploads of planes without even blinking... ^^

Experience regarding the Reworked CV'
Deckeru_Maiku replied to pzkpfwv1d's topic in General Discussion
And in addition also remove strafing, as the mechanic was clumsy and probably THE deciding difference between a potato and a Unicorn... Maybe tinker with AA a bit and - voila - there is a working system... The new mechanic is just terrible - as I had expected, from the moment it was announced.- 76 replies

Experience regarding the Reworked CV'
Deckeru_Maiku replied to pzkpfwv1d's topic in General Discussion
My "CV Experience" today: As I hadn't tried the CVs on the test server, I took my Hosho into a training room and got dealt a Phoenix as "target". I had allowed movement and weapon use for it. So I tried the different planes and was utterly unimpressed. The rockets were easiest to use, but didn't really do much damage. The torpedo bombers... well.. one plane attacking, two circling and getting shot and a single torp going at the target, which every not completely retarded player could easily dodge... Dive bombers also felt kinda meh, as getting the target circle on target before the time ran out was too tough for an nearly sixty year old player like me... So I didn't even attempt to take a CV into any serious battle.. or CoOp... Next I tried a CV counter - my Yubari... I hadn't noticed that there wouldn't be any bot controlled CVs in CoOp... so it was our CV (Hosho) against a team with an additional BB... Unexpectedly our CV wasn't able to do anything, as much as he tried. His planes were just melted by an enemy Texas (!) and any other BB (König and even a Wyoming). As I also effed up a little bit after taking out two enemy ships and got sunk, and we also had a bot BB on our team, added to a quite potato-ish Texas, the battle ended with my first loss in the last 100+ CoOp battles... Not amused... Next I took the Yubari into a "real" battle... and it turned out to be a 3 CV per side, 5 BB per side, no DD battle with T4 and T5 ships. The poor CVs were in for some nasty experience... Even with an untrained captain (! No AA skills.. !) my Yubari managed 20 (!) plane kills. And I also sank 3 ships, one of them a CV that tried to run away when I hunted it... I think in the whole battle one rocket squad managed to hit my Yubari before it got destroyed, but the damage was neglectable.. After that I tried the Sims, to see in T6 / T8 CVs would be more impressive. Over four battles I managed an average of 12.75 plane kills (per battle) and didn't get sunk by the CVs. Not the melting the Yubari had done, but still more than once a whole 6 plane squad vanished after I fired the AA special.. And my secondaries specced Bismarck averaged 13 planes kills per battle over two battles.. Conclusions: WG overdid it with the "tuning" a wee bit. During the tests the AA was supposedly too weak, now the planes are too weak and AA probably too tough... for me the controlling of the planes reminds me strongly of World of Warplanes, which I found extremely unpleasant compared to more serious flight simulators... it is ... interesting... that WG implements a new hyped mechanic for CVs and isn't able to implement bot CVs that can work with this mechanic... makes me wonder if the mechanic itself isn't the best choice...- 76 replies

Discussion thread for "some interesting info around the world"
Deckeru_Maiku replied to Deamon93's topic in General Discussion
Nothing to see here, comrade... Russian BBs will sure turn out to be the best in the world - "...if testing shows that it's efficiency won't live up to ... our expectations..." - as they proved unsinkable over many wars... rumors about bad maintenance were just that... vodka made their turrets turn fast as rabbits... -
You know your matchmaking sucks big time
Deckeru_Maiku replied to Ukio's topic in General Discussion
Normal playerbase number of players > Clanbattle number of players When - as predicted - everybody has reached that 50% baseline, the total amount of players would make sure that you WON'T play against the same opponents again and again and again... And other than in Clanbattles the players would not always be on the same teams. So a player that was your opponent in the last battle becomes your ally in the next. So I still think it would be a good idea and having all players at a base ~50% winrate would not really be a problem... expect for those wannabes who define themselves by having a much longer reproduction organ higher winrate than other players. I agree though that playing the objectives should give more reward than just causing damage. The connection between damage and exp is about THE worst thing in WoWs. But as we talk about WG here, I don't expect that to ever change. -

If the battles would be more close instead of one team steamrolling over the other - yes, I would prefer that and yes, I would play such a game. Can't really see where there would be "punishment" involved. And for all those people that would need some numbers to prove they have the biggest testicals and the longest reproduction organ: there probably still would be slight differences in the 1% region, due to short win/loss streaks... so the folks with 51% could still look down on those with a mere 49% (at least until they lost a couple battles and lose a percent or two..) -
I am soooo bad at finding those wasd keay, that I remapped movement to the up-down-left-right arrow keys on my keyboard...
