What Were Your Greatest Gaming Achievements Today ?
Deckeru_Maiku replied to Hanszeehock's topic in General Discussion
Hello... my name's Deckeru_Maiku and this it the first time for me to attend a meeting of the Anonymous Sealclubbers... I have to admit, that I feel slightly dirty after today. The things I did... especially to several of those poor, helpless T4 CVs... Especially nasty details: Isokaze in a pure T3/4 battle... Archipelago (Domination): starting mid-southwestern... set course to the A cap, with the trusty bot-controlled Shenyang at my side... I managed the cap, then cruised further west, because I had spotted an Arkansas B on that flank... and to my utter surprise I managed to stick a couple torps into it and saw it go Boom... next I planned to pay the enemy CVs a visit. On the way I stuck some more torps into a bot controlled Dante Alighieri, which played the old forward/backward game with an island on it's bow... my torps managed to take it out of it's misery... Onward not so christian soldier for me, still looking for them CVs... I had to dodge some planes and some shells from a BB that tried to support those CVs, but turned heel when I sent some torps it's way... didn't help though, as by now my team was ahead a couple ships and that BB got burned to cinders fast... The first enemy CV followed suit, burning down nicely, but at least I managed to stick some more torps into the last enemy CV and thus ended the battle with a BOOM! My Yubari had to sink an enemy DD firs, but then the way to the enemy CVs was open... again, some dodging and weaving and in the end both CVs hopefully learned to not ignore an Yubari for too long... And yes, I checked the CV player's stats... no newbies.... all had T8 silver ships... most had CV stats from before the reeework. So no "newbies"... that lessens my scruples a bit -
10 battles today... 7 wins... mostly with Unicorn WoWs S&Ns PR (even that doesn't mean much anyway..) I guess I'm in for a losing strike on the next couple days... Sounds like the normal, average WoWs player to me... There's at least one of those in average battle. When You're lucky on the other team. Doesn't depend on tier either... you meet them at each and every tier...

no more stat shaming? [WR < 46% = plain bad]
Deckeru_Maiku replied to Sethirod's topic in General Discussion
Was that in CoOp? A different account? Can't anything to validate that claim on WoWs S&Ns... Cool story tho, bro... Has been a while since You went down to play T4, wasn't it? Maybe You should try it and find out how many "newer players" you will meet there. -
Strange.. seems You live in a different timeline than I do... I recall especially RTS mains (and there especially the Unicorns) giving WG tons of feedback about how to make RTS CVs more playable and less destructive, while lessening the skill gap at the same time. Stuff that had a really high chance of working as intended. On the other hand, it was mostly BB mains that insisted that nothing that could be done to CVs would stop them going after their soggy behinds and that they would have to get removed from the game... and best take the nasty DDs with them... So... Whose fault is the reework? The fault of players giving feedback and options or those "booohoooo... my mighty ship gets damaged all the time.. make it stop", when taking CVs out of the game NEVER was an option? IMHO WG listened too much to BB whiners, and came up with a concept that was way worse than RTS CVs ever were.

And it didn't even hurt... or take any effort. -

Must be some more battles... 'Cause with 1254 battles played in Beta I only had a 50% winrate... But after Beta I quite fast got to ~54% and that's where I've been since... -

PR greatly depends on damage done. WR depends on winning games. PR doesn't take into account if that damage helped to win the battles (what I would consider the "main goal") WR doesn't take into account how much you helped to win the battles, or if you got carried by the team. Conclusion: both are in fact useless to determine the skill of a player but (!) usually good players do more carrying themselves than being carried and therefor win more games. Sometimes without getting a great PR for those battles (due to flawed base for PR) Therefore in the end WR is still the more valuable stat to check to determine a player's skill. -
For me at T4 it's usually: "Shouldn't all those wannabe sealclubbers in CVs play subs now, as they are the new sh*t?" Usually gives me a lot of attention...

And here the next message from the depth of T4... Yes, there's a lot of CVs around there. So it helps to pick your ships carefully... like... Yubari... yeah, I know... not the AA cruiser it was when RTS CVs were still alive, when it was able to de-plane a Hosho with a bit of Langley added as a side dish... But when one happens to meet some less than skilled wannabe selaclubbers in them T4 CVs she can still be real fun. So today... T5 battle on New Dawn (Domination) with only two DDs each side... but two CVs to make up for it. Started on the north-western side, so set sail *cough* set course to A cap. I got molested by some planes on the way, but it seems the CV players learnt fast that it would need skill to hit me without losing planes, so they stopped bothering me, which allowed me to cap A. Our other flank had managed to secure C, while the opposition held B, but had lost a couple more ships than my team. So naturally I continued to use the Yubari's lazers to harass BBs by putting them on fire... and of course I had my sights on the spot of the map where the enemy CVs like were hiding. And as they noticed it, they sent again some planes towards me... with little success. I got them spotted, shelled them a bit, but had to watch as they got downed by other ships. Still... 51k damage done, no sinkers, 15 planes downed, 1 cap taken... yeah, nice battle. I also did some battles in my recently acquired Serov, but as I know how hard I s*ck in CVs, I do my CV'ing in CoOps only... So... I'm not really good with rocket planes. Or ditch bombers... but give me some torps and Bob's your uncle.... I think (!) in one of those - oh so short... - CoOp battles I landed 15 torpedo hits. I did an average of 35k damage in 11 battles - not much, but okay-ish for me... remember: CV potato... - and being able a couple times to stick all 5 torps into a moving cruiser feeled kinda nice-ish!?! -
The problem is, because there's no T4 subs there's more experienced players going down to play T4. PotatoAlert shows it quite clearly... And as I play T4 nearly exclusively for a while already, I can assure You that during the time span when I usually play (german early afternoon) there's usually a maximum of 3 bots per team in T4 random battles. And not even in each battle, but maybe in 30% of battles... And yes, the amount of T4 (wannabe) sealclubbing CVs is low. But not so low like new players playing T4 CVs.
-
Yes, terrible teams are a pita... Had a couple days with nearly only abysmal teams... my winrated was between 0% and 45% for those three days and 20 battles. Then the next two days and 15 battles gave me 60% winrate... and before that losing streak I had 3 days with 21 battles and a 70% winrate... So.. It's called "random" for a reason, right? I mean... I've got 19k battles.. and a 54% winrate... and I have it for several thousand battles... streaks happen... in both directions. Only the people who consider themselves "better than average players" and in reality aren't usually forget about this.
-
Oh, sorry.. must have missed it... maybe because I usually don't don't further than the funny part of your posts. ... except when people go to low tiers to dodge stupid game mechanisms (aka subs) or to club some babyseals (aka CV plague). Because that "need for more exp" doesn't explain players - in subs and other ships - with thousands low tier battles... Not everyone sees the need to go to higher tiers all the time...
-
You mean like with the T4 CVs? They were to go down to a stable 1 per battle, too, after a while... just... it didn't happen.
-
Considering Your stats in it and your other CVs... yeah, must feel terribly as a downgrade...

WG checking holey Spreadshiet... Working as intended, comrade -
It obviously helps a lot when it's played exclusively in 2 and 3 player divisions.

Angling in Cruiser.... does it even matter?
Deckeru_Maiku replied to Prophecy82's topic in General Discussion
In my Krispy Kreme angling works nicely against most T4/5/some T6 BBs, as long as they shoot AP against my Krispy's nose.. I managed to sink quite a few BBs with the KKs torps (= 5 km range!) by just sailing straight ahead towards them and bouncing AP shells... And on the other hand there was that one moment, where an enemy Viribus Unitis peppered the KKs broadside from ~7 km, scoring 8 hits with 0 citadels... but 8 overpenetrations (or so he stated), seeing me turning away only to get blapped through the stern and getting my last 500 hp (or so) vanishing... -

...except for the tier range where they are most unfun to play against (aka T4) where there still is a softcap of 2 Now imagine a division of two Kosmoprolets controlled by non-potatoish players going sealclubbing at T4 and all the joy they produce.

And with this I'm out of this conversation, as we left the topic far behind already and nothing that I could answer would matter due to "reasons". -

I wouldn't buy a sub premium either... nor probably wouldn't play any free ones I might get except for CoOp or Convoy Mission. Just too effing boring and unrealistic.- 47 replies

I guess we might have a higher % of flatearthers among them, as the game screen fails to properly show earth's curvature in battles... And considering that a high % of players is consisting of millenials, who only know their smartphones as source for "trustworthy" information... The answer to Your question has to be "No" -

It's all about brains and deciding to use or not use them. -
Yes... the T6 are... when they end in a T8 battle. It's about the russian wet dream papernapkin CVs here... and no, T4 Kosmoprolet is NOT balanced.
