You're more likely to maintain same turn rate for longer times because of "helmsman" not auto centering rudder until separately told that.

Like this? But nice to know there are DDs which can be expected to be predictable in their maneuvering.
-
Now that was really good metaphor! Sometimes whole box is just plain rotten no matter what you do. Yep, mobile "broadband" is unstable band if there are any other users in area and especially when moving from one place to another. That's why operators are so eager to replace wired broadband connections with it because they don't really have to guarantee any kind stable connection.

I wouldn't delete folder itself. Removing files in it is enough to free space. If you try to just directly open WorldOfWarships.exe in backed up client folder that probably starts checking it's "freshness" and start downloading patch or something like that. But when you open replay file with that backed up WorldOfWarships.exe it doesn't do anything else than run in "playback" mode. It's really easiest by opening two folder view Explorer windows, one showing exe and with replays in another. Then you just drag replay on top of exe to open it. I have wowsreplay file extension associated with up to date client. 0.5.1.4 is fully compatible with 0.5.1.3 replays. (and propably the other way) Would be really nice if WG clearly announced which patches are going to "break" earlier replays. Like despite of bigger version number change 0.5.0(.0) didn't break 0.4.9 replays but 0.5.0.3 broke 0.5.0 replays.

That shouldn't be hard to detect automatically for flagging those players to WG staff and then punish them (like removing ships used) if it continues. Leaving battle only to take other ship into other battle should be allowed only after ship got sinked. But yeah, WG just doesn't seem to be interested in being proactive against rule breaking. Which isn't even good survival strategy because of seriously limiting chances to spot dangerous enemies before they can get too close...
-
Addition: ... doing something stupid basically yelling enemies to sink him. As example once low hp Minekaze decided to parallel my gunship DD at 6km distance and keep sailing in straight line so I complied with his wish to get shot at and sinked him with two salvoes.
-
For logical thinking ability having player it should be obvious at the latest by tier 5 that shooting from absolute max range just isn't effective in most ships.

The designer who thought Detonation was a good idea
EsaTuunanen replied to Syrchalis's topic in General Discussion
If you get shot that much without getting single scratch in DD you'll eventually run out of luck, possibly even evading to under misaimed salvo. And at that time enemy just happened to have that luck... just like single torpedo hit sometimes detonates cruiser/BB. -
The designer who thought Detonation was a good idea
EsaTuunanen replied to Syrchalis's topic in General Discussion
It can happen in DD vs DD. It seems to require getting RNG luck with tight shell dispersion for multiple nearby hits and then hitting below guns. (front seems to be best spot) But it's really something like once in a month bonus of getting that easy kill. -
Damn... that's some suicidal cruisers you had. They must have appreciated those "express telegrams" into engine room.... 130mm AP citadels perfectly broadsiding Kuma up to 10km. Phoenix/Omaha up to 9km. Königsberg can be also citadelled to over 9km though it seems to be more precise about hitting spot. Furutaka around 8 km though its superstructure is annoyingly easy to overpen. Especially from ambush behind island against lone and distracted/unaware BB close range torpedo runs are very good. Without other enemies nearby it's often possible also to rush in using boost from opposing course when you have distracted/unaware BB in open. Though above T5 BBs start to have too much secondaries.

Just make new folder into where you want to archieve older game client with for example WoWs 0.5.1.4 name (shows instantly version) like I used for previous client. Then copy literally everything inside World of Warships main folder as whole into that new folder. As for Updates folder you should empty its content to save space. Anyway that folder contains downloaded (probably compressed) patch data needed for patching client and those files aren't needed after patching is finished. I don't think there's any place which has archived older clients and you would need to get it from someone who took back up. 0.5.1.3 and 0.5.1.4 are fully compatible. Previous needed client is 0.5.1.2 after which shell/trajectory visual effect was somehow changed: While "5.1.3" opened "5.1.2" replays shell visuals were missing and vice versa. Before that needed version was 0.5.0.3, which again didn't open replays of 0.5.0.0/0.4.9 versions. (that's where my archive ends)

Suggestion: Quick command for torps alert
EsaTuunanen replied to OverPens's topic in General Discussion
-1 That would be exactly the excuse used by those who can't be bothered to properly position themselves for team safe launch of torps. -
It's BBaby or battlesheep.

Then why do you keep pressing that Battle-button with MM we have? If someone has that much detonations daily that he needs them constantly then it's time for him to keep break for that day. It just isn't his day. -
Suggestion: Quick command for torps alert
EsaTuunanen replied to OverPens's topic in General Discussion
That would be useful. Then again I suspect that average BBabies and tourist cruisers would still keep sailing in straigth line... or then do last second panic turn to wrong direction eating even more torps. -
Use Shift to switch between zoomed out and zoomed in. (or last used level of zoom in) Aka so that you don't have to be bothered to maintain both situational awareness and "firing solution"...

Suggestion: Quick command for torps alert
EsaTuunanen replied to OverPens's topic in General Discussion
While ability to quickly and clearly warn friendly who suddenly does something completely unexpected (possibly really stupid like exposing citadel) there's definitely that risk that warning would be used as excuse for total lack of responsiblity in torpedo use. -
And now that you've once uploaded those images you can use them later again without new upload. Center part in upper line of message writing tools has that diskette looking icon (close to Youtube icon) with "My Media" tool tip. That accesses files you've uploaded to forum account's storage space. I would just suggest using always jpg-format instead of png because you have 20MB total storage space. Looks like you had actually fair MM. My best match came as courtesy of "balanced/working as intended" MM. Missed meeting Fuso, other Nicholas and one cruiser. As trivia that number of shells fired equals to over 12 minutes of non-stop gunning.

I've found there's something weird in number eight. I have probably dozens of six kill matches, handful to ten seven kill matches, but I don't remember ever having eight kills while I have two nine kill matches.

Yep, feels nice when own team is just at right competence level to not collapse instantly but neither to kill enemies fast and also enemies are "cooperating". You got other screenshots for team score for seeing opposition ships and damage details? If you want to be absolutely sure no one can blame you from that "naming and shaming" of worst performing/unlucky players just blur/cover names of other players like this: Have you enabled replays? http://forum.worldofwarships.eu/index.php?/topic/19222-enabling-replays-in-world-of-warships/ Those can be used to capture video or screenshots later. Just remember to remove replays of not interesting matches or you'll soon have dozens of them. They'll go to replays-folder. (surprise) And add something to file name of good replays to differentiate them.

Game doesn't need any manual port forwarding through NAT because it doesn't act as server and all incoming traffic is "answer" to connection initiated by client.

Some of the great details of the North map, in real life.
EsaTuunanen replied to _Zeromancer_'s topic in Off-Topic
I guess this is why style of details in few maps have for some reason reminded me lot about Norway. You better hope they won't make map based to Finland's coast...Because it would be full of islands, rocks and even more rocks below surface. -
It's curious that wrecks in Surigao Strait haven't been searched. Would think that with modern methods it would be easy to find possible wreck sites. After all that area isn't some deep ocean floor and it's also rather small area. Myself have gotten "lost" quite a few times in reading history of ships and battles. (when you check one thing that leads to other etc.) As for match analysis I would have replay with crazy contest of bad play in both teams... BBaby and tourist cruiser suiciding against Minekaze... Enemy cruiser showing his citadel from point blank range and other cruiser failing to blow it to kingdom come... Already low hp Minekaze thinking it wise to challenge gunship DD into duel and one enemy cruiser even beaching himself.
-
Hard time to have site for replays. Good work. Do you have earlier clients backed up? Got plenty of butt kicking replays. If you have 0.5.1.3/4 (shell visuals changed from 0.5.1.2) I'm sure you would like this "fair" MM match. Confederate seven minutes into match and High Caliber inside next. As trivia that number of shells fired equals to over 12 minutes on non-stop gunning. That match was kinda revenge for this defeat...

There's no way to carry team when there are retard CVs sitting stationary to get nuked by enemy CV, battlesheeps and tourist cruisers showing constantly their side for enemy to citadel... Or suiciding into torps. And changes have just made carrying harder. In Strait map you need competent team to have slightest victory chance unlike with last seasons two caps which gave good players more time to dish out damage to enemy team.. Same for Fault Line, you just can't win without competent team unless enemy team is even worser. And then people even probably take stock ships into matches. With also MM having less regard for balancing teams shipwise (enemy get two Fusos, own team NM and NY) this ranked mode isn't battling against enemy, it's battle against MM.
