  2. Yep, with that team of AKFs/bots and losers it would have just led to collapse of also other flank. Unless enemy team is bad "sitting behind" and surrendering most of the map to enemy will just decrease space available for maneuvering leading to getting shot at from multiple directions. More maneuvering space gives more options, just like in aviation humour altitude being "life insurance". (giving more time to try to solve problem) HDD is no excuse for taking that long to get into match. That abacus simply isn't fit for any heavier game than Minesweeper/Solitaire or is badly maintained.

    Now did you disable AA to let it try to torp you once in a while... Would think CV loosing planes in every attempt. Gremy has two types of those useless 0,9km range 12,7mm peashooters, but 37mm and 76mm guns have total of 40 DPS... Though for rather nerfed for caliber feeling 2km range. With AFT that becomes less bad 2,4km and AA upgrade module could also add another +20% range, but that would happen at the expense of main gun accuracy upgrade. Actually finished Arpeggio Kongo challenge including its 150 plane kills part just by playing Gremlin. Though didn't have this "plane rich" match: Fail team half full of total losers from usual BBabies and tourist cruisers to cap deserting "Clumsy". Though Kuma was nice in showing his citadel and needed only couple HE salvoes to finish him when he finally tried to run away...

    Cheer up. If my Gremyashchy happens to be in enemy team and you play sloppily I might sink your cruiser with citadel hits which hurt lot more than HE and fires: As in loosing like 5000, max 10k hitpoints per salvo coming every five seconds... https://www.dropbox.com/s/mopr30opd7mcp32/Omaha%20Citadelled.jpg?dl=0 That target misprioritizing cruiser lost all 18k hitpoints in ten seconds from first hit. Anyway single fire causes 0,3% (of full hitpoints) worth of damage per second so don't instantly waste repair/damage control party for one fire if you're under continuous HE rain. And if you're only ship facing multiple enemies focusing on you then having barbeque party going on should be expected. Also lowest tier players might not know about AP but that will change. Whose increasing use will make mistakes lot more costly.

    So did that CV try to dive bomb or torp you? Not the only Soviet DD with decent AA. Except for without AFT short range Gremy has nice AA DPS. Had a match in which enemy CV didn't let me to sneak to torping distance of Wyoming in cap so shot down 15 planes.

    Looks more like he bought Murmansk and then suicide rushed against half of enemy team in random with aiming capable opponents. Before or after trying same in Tenryo. Bathtub fast speed of St. Louis obviously prevented rushing in to become enemy team's first target. Resulting 56k damage and even curiously high 62% hit ratio.

    Enabling Replays in World of Warships

    December replays from before christmas need 0.5.1.3/4 client. 0.5.1-0.5.1.2 clients might open them but shell/trajectory effects would be missing. 0.5.2 released around christmas is incompatible with earlier replays and its replays incompatible with earlier client. Its replay compatibility continued to 0.5.2.2 client. (with 0.5.2.3 breaking compatibility in end of January)

    Why would I take torpedo boat for drive immediately when there's propably over abundance of torpedo boats? Also that will probably make many BB players switch to cruisers giving more food for Gremy's guns.

    That era submarines just really wouldn't fit to this kind accelerated pace short matches game. They would simply make USN BBs look fast and hence were used as strategic weapons stationed to strategic areas and choke points to prey on enemies moving through area. (and/or recon)
  12. Correction: poorly playing enemies getting their deserts. That "lost WASD" cruiser... BBs not doing preventive maneuvering after already getting torped... Clemson and Wickes just screwing around instead of doing their job. And even that Mutsuki in the end: Torpedo boat player should know better than that to do some preventive maneuvering when it's known enemy torpedo boat is in area because of smoke.

    I still have 30 pearls worth of "permanent" missions left because those would have required bothering to play other class or tier ship. Apparently 293 is max possible with all different class/tier permanent missions and weekly missions completed. Anyway you definitely already have the best possible ship to have in collection. Sure it needs more skill than firing torps, but once mastered also cruisers are food for its guns.
  14. If it takes 15 minutes to get back into game after crash that abacus is barely fit for Minesweeper/Solitaire and shouldn't have this game installed in first place. And I kinda remember someone mentioning having not gotten back into match after long disconnection as if server blocked it. You should have checked his stats if those hint toward AFK/bot grinder. I know couple "player" names having thousands of matches but just plain piss poor average damages in T VI BBs at which point they should have had plenty of time to learn to do more than sub-10k average damage.

    150 is enough for that and reachable, if you have currently unfinished personal missions. But if you have finished all the currently available missions at this rate goal of 10M pearls might be reached before new weekly missions. Or at the latest will be reached soon after new weekly missions are opened in Sunday-Monday night. Anyway I'm out of taking one of those 2000 prize ships of lottery with 263 pearls I reached Monday afternoon. (just by playing Gremlin)

    Unless you have some unfinished pearl missions at this rate there's no way to get even into lottery. But if you want active play gunship DDs are bigger on that action part than torpedo boats like Minekaze and its rebrands. Anyway don't you have Gremlin in your port? Once mastered that's the ultimate destroyer of those tiers.

    So you shouldn't be able to report some bot in enemy team or those major cases of chat misbehaviour? Preventing reporting player who sinked you would be lot better for preventing abuse. Especially if reports from sinked player's whole division would be blocked/discarded.

    Stealth torping is simply in overall lot easier than using short range torps or guns. Guns and short range torps both demand taking risks to be used and need lots of planning, situational awareness and skill to minimize risks to reasonable level. Actively hunting enemy DDs also greatly increases risks. And if you have slow turning guns, like Gnevny, that needs further planning to be able to use them effectively especially in more cramped places. It's almost like orchestrating ballet or something to get everything going well in cramped spaces with lots of enemies... Gremy gets turrets disabled/wrecked just fine when those get hit... or sometimes when missed. "Best"/worst has been loosing three guns when couple cruiser shells hit ship's stern. Those double gun turrets are just bigger target and hence get hit more often. Just like turrets of later USN DDs (like Sims) after open mount guns.

    Update on Project R in Europe

    Always considered that 10m pearls as end/project finishing goal and 24th as deadline for achieving it. But yeah, maybe it could have been more clear. You should unleash that Gremlin you have sitting in dock... Once fully mastered in it you have actual chances for trying to pull not so good team into victory and usually can get good score in fail teams making playing in those teams at least little less frustrating.

    And what might be the reason for that discrepancy between nations? Maybe it's that lower risk IJN stealth torping thing? While gunship DDs needs taking risks in both use of torps and hunting enemy DDs. Gunships tend to have lower survivability than torpedo boats also at higher tiers. Which is no doubt also behind major discrepancy in numbers of players playing each nation DDs.
