I'm being abused by weekend potatoes :(

You do know that the definition of the Homo Sapiens includes that thing called as ability to think?
  2. But WG doesn't have to give them power to harass others: Wouldn't need any massive customer support department to solve that. Just little software checking if player is trying to report enemy who sinked him. (+remembering divisions in that check) If yes, discarding report and throwing back penalty from abuse of system like day or two locking to Co-op along. Month ago had game in which Kamikaze R and Isokaze division just didn't understand to keep distance from BBs I was screening in my Gremy. So naturally after few minutes of "hide and seek" both went down. At that point that Kamikaze player went full on abusive in chat with the usual insulting and reporting from cheating. And of course after the match was greeted by announcements of two reports. Checking replay I actually noticed that during action I had missed own team's Kamikaze R player doing the same... after screwing up and sitting in path of enemy Gremy's torps.

Bad teams last month, enyone else ?

Yeah, bots have been around for long time in games. In literal sense starting from built-in NPCs. But I think those bots would act logically trying to do at least something... Actually there's also one curious thing. Lately I've found that it's like some players don't exist at all. I mean instead of telling about account being hidden WG's site doesn't recognize player name at all. So the "moral high grounder" is the first to go to personal attack. Guess everyone knows what conclusions to draw from that.

What Were Your Greatest Gaming Achievements Today ?

Not bad start. Now start aiming to damage closer to 200k than 150k and 9 kills and of course triple XP to next one for proper carry of team of fail. https://wowreplays.com/Replay/26355-EsaTuunanen-Gremyashchy-Big_Race My third 9 kill match... We're all going there anyway. If someone says otherwise just ask from priest of different religion, who'll tell you need to join his church to be saved.

Bad teams last month, enyone else ?

You grow up yourself and realize if any person goes to some team sport arena like for example football field he is expected to play instead of going to sit in corner! Player in ship designed to survive most hits out of all ships in team sabotaging match by running to hide in corner fully deserves every possible name. This is completely same as with all those often pisspoor performing bullies/troublemaker in various schools, workplaces etc. They can do what ever they want to spoil school etc for those actually trying and it's just "status quo" with pat on shoulder at most. Then if someone actually demands putting some real felt punishment on those everyone are suddenly horrified that its "uncivilized" etc...

    Karma Challenge

Try to say something positive when I see someone doing good, if I'm not fully occupied by heavy duty carrying, which is so often the state after early match. So mostly it's to carrier for spotting cap where I'm heading when shooting battle hasn't yet started. Though week or two ago had good occasion... just without any chat. Had division of Leander and Warspite from same clan actually push behind me to west cap in Estuary with Leander smoking. Shortly after some enemy moved to cap so I pushed little spotting Kamikaze. With closest enemy cruiser too far to hit me I kept pushing until Kamikaze went down from Leander's hit. After doing turn outside the cap to make sure I didn't eat Kami's super fishes I returned to help in capping. Laying smoke screen to make sure Leander and Warspite stayed hidden for longer and moving to side to spot enemies Around that time first enemy cruiser came into cap... and didn't survive long. I think there was also other cruiser, but at least Kongo and some other BB pushing fast behind it. Damn WASD haxers didn't eat stealth fired torps so had to start moving back from cap. Leander also moved out from cap, while obviously Warspite lacked agility to get out alive. But before enemy got that cap Kongo went down and other enemies took beating. After that it was retreating battle toward "home cap" in North while rest of the team from other flank eventually got enemy cap. Ended up with three kills, just like Leander, after switching to guns from futile torping attempts. We three topped scoreboard and gave both compliment. Returning to port was greeted by message of compliment and I think Karma had risen from previous check by four. That match was more like what this game was in closed beta.

    Invisifiring - A simple solution.

Neither were Minekazes or other stealthy torpedo boats problem then. Neither did BBs leave team mates without support then, unlike half of them do now. That also left less room for ships to stealthfire at those big slow BBs, because enemy didn't have two thirds of the map to run back... And BBs had more team mates alive in faster and stealthier ships to go after those enemies. Instead of fragile ships being routinely used as meatshield by many BBs. Actually weaker than others (except against CVs) even then USN CAs felt enjoyable with working team play.

I need help: How to get better

If you can afford credits use premium smoke to have extra battery for smoke machine and faster "cooldown/reload". Also especially if you don't have Last Stand premium damage control can help with ship which has limited range for optimal offensive power. You just can't afford to be sitting duck with engine broken in clsoer range to any enemy. Unless having smoke to hide. Also keep track how long smoke lasts and when do you need to get away to avoid detection in bad place. Easiest way for that is to check how long there's left in cooldown timer when smoke disappears. Then you can just look at timer to know how long you have cover. And always plan ahead so that you can run out of bad situation without taking much damage. Either by using smoke or putting island between your ship and enemies, or at least the most dangerous enemy. Starting from Tier 7 (Atlanta, Belfast, Indianapolis) there are cruisers which have radar consumable which can spot you through that smoke or even mountain so be extra careful when meeting them. Other cruiser can have hydroacoustic search which does same at shorter range already at lower tiers than that. In early match using island as cover for closer range launch or firing at incoming enemy from just outside detection range is must. Hitpoints are valuable asset affecting to what you can do/how agressively you can play and needed especially for hunting enemy destroyers. Without enemy destroyers left to hunt some hitpoints can be traded if being able to get close to lone BB using island as cover and then charging for point blank range kill with short exposure time. Even then always check if getting exposed leads to you being shot at by more enemies and if you can afford to lose some hitpoints in exchange for the damage you can do. Even against another destroyer trading hitpoints 1:1 is bad ratio unless target is few hits from dead. After upgrading Nicholas to faster firing 127mm/38 guns you can use islands as detection/shell cover for longer range firing because of catapult like trajectory: In later match and if having lots of hitpoints to trade head on charge (never chase anything for torpedo attack) can be done against incoming, especially distracted, BB. And sometimes have to be done to take out some high HP enemy BB which would smash your remaining team mates. Also like said later in that video if lightly armored cruisers are showing broadside to your smoke below 7km range use AP to send warm greetings to engine room crew by hitting at waterline near midship/below smokestacks. With fire rate of destroyers you can do that against lower hp cruisers even in open if you have hitpoints to take few hits. Destroyers can't tank hits from much any gun, but if you play properly and enemies badly this is what you can do to tourist cruisers: https://wowreplays.com/Replay/25540-EsaTuunanen-Gremyashchy-Fault_Line (open downloaded file in WorldofWarships.exe)

Kamikaze 'green' and Smith in shop

Properly played Gremlin sure rips potato team to pieces... And still fails to make to that list because average potato either spends match slowly scratching some BB or gets gunned down even by high skill player in IJN DD when going to front like destroyer should:

    Submarines in current patch?

Well, there was that Flying Cleveland already so why not submersible ship... And after all its ship in the stronk Soviet navy so of course it should be able to submerge and act as heavy lift ship.

    A guide to playing Battleships.

You forgot about need to complain to every possible WG employee and support. Because glorious battleships are invincible mountains of heavy steel they should keep floating forever, no matter how much of water there's leaking to inside the ship.
  12. EsaTuunanen

Secondary guns starting to get a bit much ?

Must have been some USN BBs. Because IJN BBs have been able to do more than couple scratches to in open water charging in destroyer since I remember. Forcing USN DDs to torp "from behind corner" or doing surprise rush from cover.

    waiting strategy, new rules please

Rear line hiding and away running 13k average damage Derpitzes, 5k Kongos etc won't stop until there's real penalty from that team sabotaging. And not rewarding them well isn't any penalty. Battleship firmly defending base instead of running to max range often also has effect of making knowledgeable enemy cruiser players very uneager to leave cover of island/mountain to continue attack. You sure it wasn't in closed beta? Because team work used to be goal for most players back then.

    Invisifiring - A simple solution.

Complete removal of stealth firing even with that twist would still in practise kill RN CLs. With number of shells per salvo and dispersion BBs can already get hits on them by tracing shell trajectories back to origin. Good BB players can usually hit also smoke firing DD, because moving fast enough to avoid being in practise sitting duck isn't easy. Though that new extra large smoke skill could make more room for that. But weird skill to add if WG intends to decrease stealth firing. I started playing games when getting games to just start needed tweaking Autoexec.bat and Config.sys. What's your excuse for not knowing about Battle of Samar? In which handful of tin cans and escort carriers with planes armed with nothing really usefull against heavier ships faced heavy IJN force with four battleships (including Yamato) ten cruisers and more destroyers. Few of destroyers/even slower and weaker destroyer escorts even went down to 5km range from heavy cruisers exchanging fire with them for lot more than half minute it would take for destroyer to sink in that situation in this game. Or doesn't that battle count because those glorious bigger gunned ships didn't achieve any real goal in it?
  15. Without actual repercussions to total failbots nothing will improve. Like one who's sabotaged over 500 matches in Derpitz with "superb" 13k average damage and awesome 9% hit ratio while running to rear. (1½k average in Karlsruin and 5/6k in Königsberg/Nürnberg) Why should that team sabotaging failbot be ever allowed to PvP unless actually starting to perform at least minimally? Or one soon 7000 match team saboteur with awesome averages like 5½k in Kongo and 6½k in Fuso... Not because of suide rushing but because of trying to run out of map away from enemy! Some ~15k average damage in Kongo should be easy limit to reach for novice who actually tries to learn the game. WG has all the data needed for setting limits to block these total outliers. If someone is completely unwilling to learn to drive car by the rules he isn't allowed to drive it in any open places/public roads. "Have money"/"Can't be bothered to think" etc aren't excuses to avoid that limitation. He/she still won't get driving license! Game rules actually have provision for WG to do anything they see necessary to maintain fun gaming environment. If someone's only goal is spoiling match for 11 others why should his rights be higher than rights of those 11 others?
  16. For start that new lot higher tier (than existing) ship could be made playable only in Co-op against bots until player achieves certain performance level in number of battles. Which could include doing some amount of damage in relation to bot team's HP pool with different goal in different class ships: Torps less reliable than guns and decently played BB survives more easily than cruiser to do lot damage. That would likely put damper on amount of worst suicide charge bots (that 1500 match fail bot did straight ahead charge in Königsberg) and running to rear line hiders. Of course slow failing forward through tiers/tech-tree shouldn't exclude from need to achieve at least something. For example 10k average damage shouldn't be too much to ask from Kongo.

    question about HE shells

Single Yamato HE shell had only 60kg of explosive, not car load!
  18. EsaTuunanen

    Invisifiring - A simple solution.

That's for what there's that thing of different class ships complementing each others... With stealthy destroyer needed for spotting stealthy enemies as targets or stopping their torpedo attack aproach for warm welcome of rain of shells from every enemy with guns to right direction. Instead of this goal of BB instant smashes cruisers and has tools to hunt destroyers and shoot down planes and only another BB can do anything. They never used any homing ordnance at that time. Hitting even battleship from 20km range was hard in WW2. Hitting WASD haxing cruiser at 15km range would have been even harder. Hitting WASD haxing destroyer at 10km range would have likely made gunners of most ships rip their hairs out from frustration. In this game battleship can easily nuke cruiser doing the mistake of turning and momentarily showing side at 15km range. And equally reliably put multiple hits on destroyer at 10km range. With most cruisers doing it even easier. Maybe you would accept realistic gunnery accuracy in exchange for realistic spotting? Of course for battleships to fix torpedo damage and flooding in torpedo bulges it would have to return to port and visit dry dock. Assuming it made it that far. Heck, USN Pacific fleet BBs were in port, but they lacked that magician to instantly plug all leaks and drain all flooded parts to stay floating.

    question about HE shells

Aim HE at deck/superstructure, not waterline belt armor and those big HEs start doing damage and starting fires. And starting from Tier 6 only part of battleships 152mm (or smaller) HEs can do direct damage is superstructure because 25mm hull plating "overmatches" those shells. Hence it can be actually better for destroyer to fire AP if battleship is showing side! Though 8"/203mm HE can again penetrate 25mm plating.
  20. No, no, no and NO! There needs to be actual minimum performance requirements! I would rather have player with 50 match experience but who's using brains and has looked into gameplay than 7000 match fail bot who barely does more damage in Fuso than what T1 ships do in average. Or 1500 match fail retard with 13k average damage in Derpitz and 5-6k in Königsberg and Nürnberg.

10 things I've learned playing WOWS

As far as your team is considered BB stands most of the time for: 1. Balless Boat 2. Brainless Boat 3. Balless&Brainless Don't worry if enemy carrier always avoids you... Eventually you'll get team with total retard carrier who manages to feed planes to only enemy ship with good AA.
  23. How long it took for Bismarck to fix ~2000 tons of flooding from shell hit to bow which also broke fuel pipes/tanks? How long it took for Bismarck to fix rudder damage from single torpedo hit to its arse? Oh, they couldn't fix it because they didn't have dry dock available! Literally dooming Bismarck. What stopped Yamato and its big escort force from bombarding US Philippine invasion force to try to stop advance of US? Bunch of "second rate" ships, from tiny destroyer escorts to "Combustible, Vulnerable, Expendable" CVEs whose planes had nothing but fake attacks to scare off IJN attack. While just any possiblity of torpedo attack forced IJN ships to maneuver spoiling their battle efficiency. (because in worst case even single torpedo hit could do crippling damage) Now where's that short end of the stick BBs get in this game? By WW2 battleships alone dominated only imagination. Because of their huge material and monetary cost they couldn't be built in numbers to actually carry out full war and they were unsuitable for lots of strategically important tasks. Germany would have fared lot better if resources spend on Bismarck and Tirpitz would have been used to built more lowly submarines. That amount more submarines could have strangled Britain's industry in early war before allied anti-submarine efforts increased. (no long range aerial bombing of German industry or Normandy Invasion without Britain staying out of Hitler's control) Also IJN failed in protecting their cargo shipping which in long term completely collapsed Japan's ability to keep up war efforts. Preventing that would have needed more lowly destroyers instead of that big Hotel Yamato. Alternately resources spend on Yamato class could have given many carriers more. Move which might have turned end result of Battle of Midway completely around. And US navy completely cancelled Montana class in summer 42 when admirals finally realized that instead of having few of those big boats it was carriers, destroyers, submarines and those which would decide Pacific War. Even during island hopping campaign it was often destroyers which provided fire support for ground troops. Already limited number of battleships and their high value would have prevented having them in all needed places. And destroyers were needed anyway to protect transport ships from submarines.

    New Commander skills.

Basing to Youtube videos WoT has plenty of total losers getting their butt kicked so why should they get any more special protection in this game... It's not the bullet with your name on it you have to be worried about. It's the bullet addressed 'to whom it may concern'. Yesterday accidentally torped previously completely unspotted destroyer as collateral damage when targeted Kongo turned shortly after launch.
  25. Basically any ship can average that damage output in ideal conditions. It's just question about if they're doing it in smaller pieces with short intervals or in massive pieces with bigger intervals.
