Actually start of the game and first drop is usually hardest. For me at least. People are close to each other. Why do you think game is spawning people in groups? As for 1v1 and unstoppable. BBs can one shot crusiers. Crusiers can one shot DDs. DDs can one shot BBs.

Bad luck. Honestly 2 tier difference for CVs is huge and in your place I wouldn't even bother remembering this game. Think about what you could do better in the future and play some more. Unless you really are worried about your stats then nothing has happened. I also got couple of games against tier X, happens. When i was grinding tier V i got tier VII US. The same when I was playing tier VI game was throwing shokakus at me. You win some, you lose some. Tier VIII is not healthy to begin with so by playing it you take the risk that either you can get game with tier X or game with tier VI. -
Uhhh... What is happening here. Honestly. Genai, while I agree with you that CVs need some tweaks here and there, especially on low tiers, I completely do not agree with your overall position in this case. First of all WoWs is not WoT. WoWs is much more focused on combined arms and any rambo behavior will end up rather quickly in port. Carriers in CBT were known as vultures, soaring through sky trying to find weakest link and getting rid off it. Carriers are unstopable against lone targets and without support you will be switfly flooded, burned and blown out. At the same time good formation from the same tier is pretty much immune to any air attacks and If there are any holes in defence then fighters make pretty much impossible to use it. The skill of the carrier captain doesn't matter here, you just can not attack something like that. Game design is RPS, you are not supposed to be able to do everything alone. Rambo is dead. It is funny that with your attitude instead of correcting your gamestyle you want to change the game so everyone can deal with everyone. No, it doesn't work that way. There is a problem with CA being forced to escort CVs, but this problem I think is more atributed to the fact that some CV spend their games near the map edge and extreme domination of the pure bomber decks. Also CA are not really rewarded for doing it. That is true. CVs are least team dependant and honestly I really think their skill celling is too low.

I did not have any big problems with community in game so far, I have more issues with how whiny forum has become though. The fact that I don't feel it in game might be atributed to the fact that I tend to ignore random garbage talk in chat. If I see something that is not connected with a strategy or game itself, then I interpret it as white noise. I am sadly really used to some level of toxicity in my multiplayer games.

It is different gameplay,but it's not that hard. Most current CV players have a lot of experience in that class, but trust me. You should be able to "get" manual drops after about 100 games, after that it's just polishing your skills and expanding. The most difficult is starting and understanding how everything works. I would advise anyone thinking about this class to think about players like Sharana or Aerroon not as masters, but as targets. You have to be better than them. I am sure with some dedication you will be able to do it. Good luck ^^.

Not carriers though. Tier 8 CV is no opponent for tier X in any way. Not to mention that AAA is balanced around same tier, so if you are fighting other ships from tiers X it is making your game much more harder when on the other hand your opponent's gameplay is easier. And carriers with no opposition most of the time win games. Not to mention that smaller teams tend to stick in formation longer which is direct counter to CVs. -

Sure they can. You just need to have enemes that know how to keep formation and not break it after 5 minutes of the game. CA umbrela + US BBs with upgraded hulls wreack havock. And one tier above? You know what lone Iowa does with shokaku planes if she is builded around AAA? -

CVs are not arty. If what you are saying is true then at the end of CBT we would have a lot of carrier players, but we didn't. Carriers require different set of skills than other ships. Lack of playerbase is worrying right now and is affecting game righ now. If we will have abundance of CVs and they will overperform then you can expect very swift nerf hammer. But present is most important. In one year game might be wowp. You fix what you have right now, not what you will have in one year. -

I am really intrested to see this fighter rebalance in 0.4.1. I do think that slower fighter should have more ammo and should be able to take out 2 bomber wings, this would mean they act more like guards than interceptors. On the other hand fighters which are much faster than bombers shouldn't have much ammo. They are interceptors. 1 Bomber wing and rearm sounds good for them. I do think we need to have both type of fighters (interceptors and defenders) in game as valid options. -

Tier X is not gonna fight in 12 vs 12 game where all players are in the tier range of each other.When you have game when you are tier VI and your team is VII and VIII and are fighting against team with the same tiers then it is hard game for you, but your team can easily deal with it. Here MM is busted and is putting nonsense teams. Game was not balanced for those. -

As for the boarder hugging of planes and whole snipe CV and pocket CA, simplest resolution would be to go back to the idea of fuel. I have no idea how it worked in alpha (I hope it was like in SupCom so when aircraft has no fuel it just moves 1/4 of it's own speed and can't attack) and they have discarded that idea once so there is low chance of going back to it, but positivies of it are immense. CVs can not hug map edge anymore to be useful There is a reason to scout best targets No more brainless lighting up DDs with fighter wings Another statistic that you can use for balance or adding national peculiarities Would set a skill celling higher and honestly we need that. Really wish I could have played in alpha when that thing was ingame. Oh well... Right now they look they are more worried about small CV playerbase, so I don't think they rework them into something more complex and more fun and honestly I expect some nerfs to low tiers, but really small or if they nerf damage they will buff them somewhere else to encourage new players to pick them up. -

I need to take a nap. Sleep depravation really isn't good for me. WG has data, If they find that CVs are earning to much, they can easily adjust their reward system or increase cost of servicing planes. This is strictly economic problem and is not related the first post that was made here in any way. But regarding economy, if you do half decent in CV and get a lot of exp, you get also a lot of credits so you can progress normaly. Maybe low tiers need a look at that, but I don't think there is some huge issue here to begin with. Rewards system for all classes seems a bit off to be honest. For border hugging. Your idea promotes it so they will never learn to stop doing that. Also it is usually treated as bad game design to balancce something by punishing players. Your idea would impact mainly bad players or unlucky ones also... it is just plain bad. The same as your ideas from before, which would create miserable experience for CVs and in the long run probably would break the game unless fixed. -
Whole 7 units and most of the time people are moving them in up to 2 groups. So much multitasking. I understand that most of players have little to none experience in any rts-like game, even dota or lol, but please. No, carrier gameplay is not hard. Abilities of top carrier players are often grossly overestimated. Most players here simply are not used to the type of skill this class requires so they are having issues with starting and getting used to it, that's all. Also interface and control scheme really isn't designed for smoothly controlling a lot of units so it creates issues here also.

What the hell are you even talking about. Can you please stop talking about CVs, because it is kinda getting annoying. Let's not talk about what do you think credit rewards should be, because I am kinda decent with CVs and you know how much credits I have? I will tell you that I had to play some RJ games to gather money for the upgrades for Shokaku... stock shokaku is horrible and I was getting really bad games in her as a results and I was not able to get money that way. As for your other idea, once again really backwards and something that would work against class and healthy gameplay. Increasing punishment would just mean people would be more affraid, will hug boarder more and you will kill them less. Result? They will still get the same ammount of credits and game is less fun for everybody. If CVs are getting much more money than others this either might be caused by balance issue, or if they simply get to much money, just adjust rewards. -
Float planes are kinda silly in how they work. It shouldn't happen that 4-7 fighter planes have to spend so much time with one float plane if the RNG is not on your side. I like them as and idea of minefield for bombers and am ok with one small plane somehow panicking whole wing of bombers, it is stupid but it works in game, but fighters should just come and go, completely wasting them. Also am I the only one that is really annoyed that float planes are still active and seek targets even after ship that started them is dead?

IJN can not ONE shot BB with 65k HP unless he gets mag detonation. It is true that on low tier 2 TBs are enough to sink tier IV BB with flooding, but situation changes with each tier rather fast. Please get your facts straight before complaining. -
I don't expect anwsers, but oh well. Carrier questions, go!! 1.) Recently we have increased number of complains regarding plane physics control, considering that carrier gameplay is that of an RTS and that most important skill in RTS games is army control. Can we expect some kind of tweaks to the flight system and to see it expanded? 2.) What type of skill do carrier players are expected to have and excel? What is your focus regarding that class when you design changes for it. 3.) Best type of game is easy to learn, hard to master. There are a lot of voices on forum which are saying that skill celling for carriers is too low. What WG is thinking about difficulty curve regarding carriers and if there are planned changes to it? 4.) When can we expect premium CV? 5.) There were rumors regarding second IJN CV line. How it will be different from the first one, what characteristics can we expect from it?

I don't know who do you expect to have more proper insight that a avid CV player. It's not like I myself was proposing multiple nerfs. b) High tiers are fine as it is. Against ships of the same tier I do not see an issue. Slower planes would have to come with nerf to AAA and increase in damage or killing alone Iowa would be impossible. c) New players don't really make carnage (do you have some data of the results of new players) As I have said. I want nerf to low tier torps. They do not need to be that strong. 50-60k on average made by good player should be ok. 10-30k made by the rest should also be ok. Don't you agree? d) What tiers? Last CVs have worst cameo in game. e) Fire stops CV from doing anything. One good crusier can turn CV off. Moving CV also has longer landing times instead of 10s it takes around 24 seconds. So running CV has longer intervals. f) You would need a fanfare for those people to start evading. This is learning issue. I have said, torps punish too much at low tier, but no change in activation time or anything would change that. People on tier IV and V just don't know yet how to dodge. That's all. Also you can not make good players dodge all torps out of 8, the CD of the attack in the low tier CV is too long for it to really work and at that tier fighters are really deadly. -

What a horrible set of changes. Thank god you are not the developer. a) Better MM is planned when the population and tier spread will allow for it. +-1 tier and the same number of carriers in MM would solve a lot of the issues, but right now we are not able to do it. Time. b) slower planes = more boring game for CV + much, much, much more difficult to perform good drop + more time in AA. And you want to make them more prone to being shot down? You want Yubari to eat whole wing without dropping their load? You know what this would do at higher tier and you know what CA screens would do? Right now good screen is impossible to go through with your change two BBs would create a screen. Also even slower? You know that they gave Hosho new planes just to adress that her planes were snails? 85 knots and you want it to be slower? Maybe 60 knots, so they move the same speed as some torpedos. c) Considering the power of fighters and number of spares on low tier. Increase in AA would significantly cripple experience for new players. There would high risk of just ending up as a ramming boat is to high. You do not want to scare people off. Torp damage nerf would be enough. People need space to learn how to aim. d) Escort carriers and Light carriers only have those insane cameos, probably because they are very lightly armored and small. Top tiers are glowing on the almost whole map. I honestly find it really fun that I can be with my team and not get obliterated by artilery, because if the carrier is spotted... he is target number one. Those low detection ranges promote aggresive play, something you actually want carriers to do. This is the quirk of the japanese line and only japanese line. Taking it out would be kinda stupid and would require rebalance of the whole line. e.) Your idea would results in most of the CV gameplay looking at their ship while planes are starting and landing. Did you play HIA? She is called airport for a reason. Increasing pointless downtime is pointless. And one more plane to keep people active? One more plane to jam the trafic? Your idea would make sense if high tiers could engage ship with single wing, they can't because of AAA. They attack in swarms. As such when swarm is comming back, it creates a trafic jam. Pretty much would only make gameplay more boring. f.) We had enlarged circle of the approach. Low tiers became broken and manual drop became unusable at those tiers while at high tiers it did not make any difference. Panes are too fast for BBs to evade them and honestly they are able to tank them rather well. WG backed out of it for a reason. You don't want to mess with new players and this change is pretty much middle finger to them. g.) Ok, can be adressed, but it isn't really big issue honestly. To sum up if you applied all of your changes, you would create even more boring and frustrating gameplay for carriers while completling screwing up anyone who would like to start with this class. Perfect. Carriers need changes, but certainly not those.
