Hi, I decided that I can show up some of my games, since I am mostly messing around. But couple of things first: - For the moment I am not doing any commentary, maybe in the future. - Those are parts of my raw game session. I am not editing those, so there will be music I am listening. I advice to mute the sound and put something you like. - Most of it if not all will be carriers, as I am carrier player. Now first video: This is not perfect game as I messed up some drops while others were just lucky, but there is couple of intresting things here: - one of my enemies was ranger. When I scouted on which side of the map he is planning to operate, I put my full attention to the other side. There is important rule about fighting enemy fighters... don't. - there were no scary AAA ships in this game, as a result I tried to spread out my forces as much as I can just to have more fun.

That's why I said that spinning DD is the same as the one going straight. DD can reverse speed as much as they want. If he was dodging propery I would have probably ignored him. -

Sadly I wasn't able to get today a good game to show good mindgames and diversions. I will try tomorrow. Overall, once again my advice against fighting US CVs in the air is... don't. -

CVs do not need nerf as you can see here someone in chat suggested that our team should focus all DDs because they are very dangerous to the CVs. Also you can always just turn into the incoming torps. The more manuverable ship the better the result! -
While I do like the idea of repairing other ship and giving power to your allies and overall dedicated support units, I do think that this skill in case of BBs would be a bit too much. It doesn't even fit into the feeling of the ship. BBs are supposed to be big, scary and powerful. They are tanks, they are pushing the frontline, their guns command respect. How does AOE healing fit into it? It doesn't. Aoe heal would fit much better for the specialised crusier, which theme is "jack of all trades". They are by nature versitile so support skills fit them. Would love to see full support crusier class ship.

Player by player basis. If the enemy team is good and keep low ammount of holes in defence then good US will shut down almost all strikes. US is gathering exactly the intel as you. Confusion tactic relies on mindgames and tight unit control. You pretty much have to be better than enemy for it to work. Also I do belive that trying to snipe US CV is waste of time unless you have big advantage already (ie. 2v1 or two tier advantage or enemy is newbie). -

Spread out forces. If you see enemy trying to engage your planes then turn them around and run. This plane is already dead but it will buy you a lot of time if US skipper decides to chase. And they do chase, sometimes to the map corner which is hillarious. If they stop chasing, just turn around and start finding another target. Don't use low tier IJN fighters, they are worthless. I will be playing today some tier VI games, I hope I will get game one IJN tier VI vs 2 US tier V so I can show what can you do if you have better control than your enemy. If I get good game as an example I will post youtube video in the evening. Against good US CV skipper though there is not a lot you can do. They don't chase, they know where are best places for you to strike and they will block them. Thankfully good US fighter skippers are very very rare breed. -
Well the thing about exp reward is this. Fighter setups is designed to deal with maximum 2 enemy ships and interaction with other ships is pretty much nonexistent. Bomber CV can deal and is interacting with whole enemy fleet. Also figher gameplay is much simpler than bomber, which should impact the rewards. Without big changes to fighters I don't see them getting higher rewards without being just unfair to others.

We were complainging about AAA during CBT almost constantly, but in the CBT we had healthy MM. Most of the people think it is crazy, but Zuiho, ship which is right now considered most problematic, is in fact worst one in the IJN line. She has bad tier spread so she can often meet ships like Cleveland which have amazing AAA even for tier VI, for lower tier is just a wall that no matter of skill you can not touch. Zuiho also is a ship that can not sortie full second wave in case her first one is defeated. Also Bongue attack planes are not really great so often people have fighters. Not to mention people finally stoped playing Arkansas and started using BBs who actually have good AAA for their tiers. New York has good AAA with the hull upgrade and can kill tier V planes. Any buff to low tier AAA will be death for the Zuiho which will end each game after 8 minutes and no ammount of skill will help you to relief that. This is just a fact. -

Only Cleveland is the problem right now I feel. It completely anihilates tier V carriers (which have no reserves what so ever) and is biggest threat on the map for tier VI. The fact that for tier VIII you still have to consider cleveland an issue is telling something (not big but still). Cleveland is also most popular CA, so he is generating a lot of stress for CV players. Later tier crusiers serve more as a panic button ships than full time plane killers, BBs own AA armament is serving as a compensation for relatieve tier to tier decrease in AA power of the crusiers. Iowa and North Carolina are best examples of it. -
Sure and that argument would be valid if you were starting reload of another gun when half of the reload is finished on the first one, and you couldn't fire any of the guns while any of them is reloading. Increase in service time related to the number of wings in the air is not linear function. RJ almost never has problem with traffic while Hiryuu is often starting to have those and the difference is just one wing.

US BBs of higher tier with AAA + CV was the lowest tier in game filled with 7 crusiers with panic button. I can easily see how he got 0 kills. -

@Galadul I will oppose to the ideas which would "Kill" the class as you have said. I am telling you why they would be bad and there is that. Just because I am opposing bad ideas doesn't mean I am opposing any change to CVs. I would love for example to see expanded flight physics which would nerf turning on the dime we have right now, but this is huge change. So for the moment I am more intrested in impact of reverse spread IJN will have. @Sander93 The same what above. I am defending CVs because I don't want them to end up like arty. I want them expanded, not crippled. Power wise low tiers need nerf and I have said it multiple times, but nerfing low tier is hard as you have to think about new CV players and already small CV population. CVs are hard beast to balance, I am just trying to make sure they go good way. So I am trying to torpedo ideas which would hurt the class. Do you not agree with reasoning I have provided? And don't use BBs as an argument. I would love to think more about them, but I decided to dedicate to CVs as I do not have time to think about everything, I am just a player in the end. @ttchip I don't have time right now for longer post but couple of things. I do like your spreadsheets and it is intresting that tier VIII is the safest one for CVs more or less. I do think honestly that tier VI US CA is just OP and shouldn't really be the norm. Especially since it can interact with tier V which has low reserves. Accuracy of TBs across all tiers is pretty much the same honestly. I just said that from my experience I do not see a big need of AAA buff, especially when fighters are in game. I don't really like the idea of increased range because it increases the chance of loosing planes by accident. Not because you engaged but because you dared to be in the 8 km radius near CA which often really isn't aware of your planes. I would love to see CA AAA escort being a bit harder to perform and then it can be buffed. So I know that this CA did something to earn those killed planes and maybe I could have some counterplay for it so If I am better I can go around it? Now when I think about it... I would like to see your idea actually in game for one patch. Just to feel the impact. Not on OBT server. Too bad we are not in CBT :/. -

I think you missed like 90% of my posts then if you think I am CV fanatic that thinks it is carriers have high skill cap and are hard to play. Like honestly, did you ever read closely my opinions about CVs and what I would love them to be? Your ideas about "balance" are flawed and straight up bad and I have calmly said to you why I think so. Your only argument left is that "BBs have it worse", I don't care. I want CVs to be fun to play and fun to play against. Your ideas are opposite of that and are comming from the sheer frustration and not calm analysis. @Genai I do want to see how thing will look after fighter rebalance and introduction of reverse spread, first. Reverse spread might change a lot and I do not think that AAA at high tier is a problem, it does it job when teams are balanced. -

I do want to see some additional intresting ways to counter planes, but slapping RNG on such a simple and pure element as torps would pretty much kill it while also it wouldn't solve anything. As I have said rng can work against but can also work for the CV player. Some drops would be even harder to evade, because rng said so and you couldn't say it was because he made great drop, it was pure luck. It will not help anyone. It is simply bad idea. As for damage. Health scales and ships get antitorpedo armor. Effective damage of CV is going down. You know how long it takes to sink Montana or Yamato? LOOOOOONG time. So what that CV will have 140k damage when whole game it was sinking one ship and that ship killed in that time two others? Effective damage IS going down. So your argument is. RNG on BBs is broken, let's break CVs also so I will feel better.Sorry, but this argumentation is childish. We can talk about BB rng somewhere else, but wanting to break other class just because of it is selfish and ignorant. -

That's why BBs are constantly complaining about RNG? Because it works? Why stop here, let's add rng to the DD torps, I am sure it will work. CVs do have different gameplay than shooting guns. Adding to CVs rng just because guns have it is simply very poor reasoning. RNG on CVs would be bad choice exactly for the reson you stated. It is very simple to lead targets. It is very clear what is happening so any random element would be very obvious and would feel very bad for the player who is doing it. Why did I miss? I see very clearly it was RNG that caused it, it generates a lot frustration and you can't say learn to play as the bad result is not caused by misplay. On the BBs it is much more obfuscated and you actually need some rng so new players can hit, why do you think game adjust your aim so you hit more often? Without it most of the people would have really really horrible hit %. In case of CVs there is no need to give new players additional tools, they already have auto drop. Do you now understand why this would kill most of the enjoyment? Torps (TB and DD) are exception from rng BECAUSE they are completely different from guns. Edit. Also I have never said that CV have high skill celling. I pretty much say always say they have too low whenever I can. -

It could help BBs who evade or screw them over even more. What is the point? Skill celling for CVs is low enough, we really do not need to lower it further. As you have said manual drops are too easy, especially on high tiers. RNG is not anwser to this problem. It will just make gameplay more frustrating for everyone. And BB rng is completely irrelevant in this discussion. I have some opinions about but it would be offtopic. -

Increase range and decrease DPS? God no. One of the most frustrating situations for CVs is that if rng is bad for you, you can lose planes at very big ranges... just because. You are not even trying to attack that ship, just going around it, but no it's worst AAA guns actually did take out your plane. There is no skill in that, just luck and frustration. You said yourself that escort job is boring. Do you think this will help to solve it? To make it easier and less engaging? Also your calculations are regarding lone CA vs IJN CV. You do know that on high tiers relative damage of CVs is going down? Also you do know that on tier VIII, North Caroline builded around AAA is a monster? BB AAA power increases with each tier. Also you do know that game is builded around the idea that there are fighters in the air, which also are more effective with each tier (aside from Midway)? Any increase in air threat would have to be balanced in power of the CV or it would have to result in decreasing ait threat somwhere else. High tier CVs are not OP if the teams are balanced, actually they might require damage buffs, but I can't tell yet because of how crazy MM for those tiers is. Edit. Try to understand that from the player perspective CV without planes is a horrible thing and we shouldn't really propose something which would make it happen more often. At the same time killing all planes from a CV doesn't really feel grand for the person which did it. Especially since killing planes is not a test of skill in any shape or form. -

My point is that I do not feel like CA have issues with doing their job regarding air congrol. I do feel that CA panic button is boring for both crusiers and carriers though. -
