  1. Well I guess you are right that it’s the only “skill” mode WG implemented so far.I think last season was similar, but in this one you simply are no longer ahead of the big wave of players. I think that’s how ranked looked in season 1 for anyone who was not rushing to the 1st rank at the start. RU is slightly bigger so I guess issues with system are less noticable, but rank 10 should also be issue there. Oh well… At least we have german league.
  2. I will be blunt.In my opinion. Ranked games never actually were designed to be competitive in the first place, they were designed to provide alternative mode which forces different gameplay patterns and is more efficient in rewarding players. It was not designed to grade you, it was designed to praise you and make you feel good. Ok, to be fair maybe they have wanted to make competitive mode, but this is what they got and I could go into more detail why I think so, but I don’t think it’s the place. I think most players feel that ranks are not really ultimate test of skill, but more like another thing to do, some kind of goal. I do think game needed that mode, but calling it competitive is stretching. So because of that reason I really don’t get why you are disappointed in season 2 when you were so proud of yourself in season 1. The same way I don’t get the “best” player in ranked status. You have added some arbitrary rules to being the best like, you need to get 1 in low number of games, you need to do it with the first batch of players. Why you had to add those rules? Because system itself was not really about finding best players, so it had to be changed to pointless race. And in this race a lot of great players did not even participate. So this whole title is kinda pointless and will be pointless, unless whole system will change. You should never be able to complete ranking mode if it was competitive. So good luck on RU or NA. The system is as flawed there as it is here. WG said they are cooking some team ranked modes and clans which will provide proper end game content many of us want. Edit: I do agree though that irrevocable ranks are generating a lot of issues, even if we treat ranks more casualy.

    Ranked season 2: What ships?

    For the CVs it's quite simple: If you feel you are good with Carriers (tier V-VI) - Ryujo- 1/2/2 and Independance 1/1/1 - bigest map presence and imapct on the game result. I would say Indi is slightly better choice. Landing on RJ is very messy since you have a lot of squads and there are a lot of BBs on those tiers so US TBs are the thing you want to have in air. If you are not sure about your skills (tier V-VI - Ryujo 3/1/1 - the only figher setup that I would consider viable. IJN are not in the good spot right now so hitting DDs is really messy, but thing is that you need something on field. Indi 2/0/1 is simply not good enough in terms of damage. 3 Fighters should give you enough air cover and spotting power, while 1 TB should be good enough to damage crusiers and BBs who are out of the formation. New DB circle is amazing and if you are good enough you can pester DDs with them. For tier VIII - Lexington 2/1/1 - Great balanced carrier. Good enough fighter power and good enough strike power. Shokaku in recent patches got hit too hard for me to consider her equal to Lexi, So yeah, that's about it from me. I only played 15 games so far and I am yet to really check how Lexi handles, but I am sure I will enjoy this season much more than the last one.

    Sad thing is for both CVs and non-CVs the biggest chances have tier X. There are simply most planes on that tier and AAA is the best on it.

    New patch and still..

    Bomber landing "bug" is caused most likely because of the increased ship escort radius for planes. When you send multiple planes to land at the same time, the ones which are not landing are sent to the queue and they are beeing sent to fly on the escort circle. Because escort circle is bigger, the planes can end up very far away from the deck and the landing process is beeing delayed. This is only my theory ofc, as there was no official information from WG regarding this. The escort radius change is actually something I support, but I am not sure if it impacting the landing procedure is intentional. Either way with good micro you should not really be bothered by this change. I would recommend spacing your landings manually in the meantime.

    To akurat inna sprawa. W patchu 0.5.1 zmienili okrag po ktorym samoloty lataja kiedy karzesz im eskortowac okret. Teraz, nie gralem duzo w 0.5.1 poniewaz nie chce mi sie grac lotniskowcami kiedy jest zbugowany skill dogfight (naprawiony w 0.5.2), lecz ogolnie ladowanie jako takie troszeczke sie zmienilo i sporo osob na to narzekalo w angielskiej sekcji. Zakladam ze wydluzenie ladowania to jest efekt tego co powiedzialem wyzej, samoloty podchodzac do ladowania, przechodza w tryb eskorty ktory teraz ma wiekszy promien promien. Czekajac na swoja ture moga skonczyc bardzo daleko od lotniska, potem dostaja informacje zeby ladowac, lecz ze wzgledu na pozycje to caly proces sie zbednie wydluza. Sprawdzilem teraz to na COOP i jest tak jak mowilem... jak masz tlum samolotow to pierwszy ktory laduje zaczyna proces z normalnej odleglosci a reszta leci na wiekszy okrag eskorty. I zawraca dopiero wtedy kiedy dostanie informacje o ladowaniu. To jest powod dla ktorego ludzie narzekaja na dluzsze ladowanie i nazywaja to "bugiem". Ladowanie sekwencyjne i pilnowanie by nie odeszly na duza odleglosc powinno przywrocic ladowanie do starych czasow. Zaleznosc predkosci lotniskowca od dlugosci ladowania jest w grze od poczatku zamknietej bety i bylo to cos co zauwazylem jeszcze jak byly tylko amerykanskie lotniskowce. Edit. Jedyny problem jest to ze ciagle trzymanie CTRL jest bardzo niewygodne, no i poruszanie sie wglab ekranu jest troche nieintuicyjne. Ale mowie, alt drop da sie robic i wyglada to bardzo fajnie i w ogole super jest jak sie uda. Planowalem nawet zrobic pelna gre w tym stylu, lecz problem jest z mysliwcami. Im sie nie da wydawac specjalnie komend poza poruszaniem sie, a bez mysliwcow nie mam szans grac nawet na niskich tierach w ten sposob.     AA is unfixable right now

    I assume the hp reset is there to mitigate issue of long range AAA. The range of long range AAA is sometimes more than 7km, can you imagine how it would look if planes were constantly losing health just like that? Overall I think long range AAA is a joke, but what can you do. Actually, it is divided equally between all squadrons. That's the reason why people used to stack all planes into one blob. Unless there were some changes I am not aware of it should be as you want. Bombers without ammunition have 25% speed buff. So full bomber is slower than fighter, but empty is slightly faster than fighter of the same tier.

    What he tried to say is that AAA is a mechanic that will always have net negative feeling regardless of it’s power. Why? Super strong AAA = very bad and unfair feeling for CV player who simply has no way of going around it since it’s just flat RNG bubble without any openings or mechanics to play around. At the same time killing a lot planes does not generate a lot of feeling of greatness for the player on the defence since he pretty much did nothing. There was no clutch plays which usually generate most of the positive feedback. So huge minus and small plus Super weak AAA = very bad and unfair feeling for a defending player who simply has no way of defending himself against competent CV. Planes are fast and if they have a lot of the time to setup attack it wil ALWAYS connect. At the same time since planes are never in any danger then carrier gameplay starts being very boring and repetitive. Other counter for drop is dodge and it did work more or less in the patch where BBs were turning like DDs (beta). With super weak AAA only DDs would be able to dodge. Avg AAA = pretty much what we have now. Dominated by RNG and depending on the tier difference it can become either strong AAA or weak AAA option. Very unstable balance and something that in the end is net negative for the game. Because people who complain are also the ones who sail solo. A lot of people sail solo. Leaving them defenceless is not a great design decision because of what I wrote above. This is pretty much exact the same situation. Because solo is so weak against aircrafts it doesn’t feel fair, but if he were to be able to defend himself in the current system the unbalance would just shift to the carrier side and they would pretty much have no chance of playing. Actually I also don’t agree with most of his proposition, but I agree that AAA is right now biggest obstacle to balance carrierst and I was talking about it for few months. Please look at my post above to see proposition of small change that would have huge impact and would add skill element for both carriers and escort crusiers. I was planning to create my own topic about AAA, but I think I just don’t have enough motivation to gather it in one place… heh… This topic is good enough, but I have no idea why it’s in the current update when it should be in carrier feedback.

    Overall I actually think they should make AAA less tier depended. Make tier 1 crusier able to kill midway planes and then balance everything around it. 1 tier differences for both AA power and plane durability are just too big. Power spikes are so big that there is huge chance that you will get unfair fight for one side or another, it is bad. There is nothing fun about having planes immune to every ship in game and there is nothing fun in having no chance to actually do anything because you are out leveled.

    Gameplay Suggestions

    From the engine perspective altitudes should not be the problem. Aircrafts already are moving on 3 different 2D planes, different for fighters, TBs and DBs, you can clearly see it if you zoom in camera. The only thing that would probably generate a lot issues would be the process of changing altitude. Anyway I really like this idea and we were talking about it for some time on this forum. Making it user friendly might be a challenge though. As for the fuel, I was not playing in alpha but I heard it was in the game already and WG decided it was too complex mechanic to deal with. While I do not agree, there is very low chance for WG to change their opinion about it. I was thinking about it and I think there would a nice replacement for the fuel system which would not be so taxing for players (as WG does not want it):Aircraft range: Basic idea is that each CV has it’s own radius of operation (radio range) where they can control the aircraft. They can order missions outside of their radio range, but when planes leave the radio circle you lose control, they perform task and go back to the CV. This does limit the power of carriers, but at the same time focuses a lot on the main ship positioning. It forces carriers to move and not hide. It gets rid off CV snipes and other stupid tactics like that (well you can still try if you chain shifts and set auto drop, long range attacks would be just much less efficient and scouting more risky). I agree with you that carriers seems like the most bare bones class and the one which requires most of the work to be done. Hopefully they will soon be in a good spot. Heh… as for non-carrier suggestions I will not comment.

  16. Use dublons? Also why Hiryuu? Go for shokaku. She is only true love in that carrier line right now. Sure she might be considered weaker than Lexi, but whatever... Hiryuu is old and busted. No easy modes.

    Smurf tier X accounts? Damn, some people are willing to do most retarded thing ever just to get some better stats. I can easilly see people rushing to smurf tier X CV and then play on it with the sole purpose of helping other person.Why even complain, this is so easily exploitable that soon we will have tier X filled with carriers like that.

    You have 2 options

    Don't forget carriers. The amount of CVs in game plummeted and it wasn't high to begin with. BBs at least have one issue which was confirmed to be looked at, CVs after patch has long list of problems (bugs and control issues, I like hard mirror MM and think it would be great if carriers were not just frustrating to play as) and WG is silent about it.

    Sure, sure... What a great idea to get 50% winratio. First of all, what is the point? Someone with tier X is willing to sascifice his own stats for other person? Or are they farming exp for the tier X which has no progresssion? Also tell me If I am wrong, but if this situation would be like... popular, won't it actually counter itself. Reason why it's possible is that no one plays carriers, but if a lot of people would do this trick, then it wouldn't work. This is silly on so many levels.

Teraz kliknij, przytrzymaj i przeciagnij tak by prostokat nie mial w sobie zadnej Twojej jednostki (lub kliknij prawym przyciskiem myszy, chyba to tez dzialalo ale naprawde juz nie pamietam) Teraz zrob to samo przy zamknietej klodce. Jeden przypadek spowoduje ze bedzie mial zaznaczony lotniskowiec jako taki, a drugi ze nie bedziesz mial zaznaczonej zadnej jednostki. Jezeli duzo klikasz i ruszasz myszka, jest szansa ze przypadkiem bedziesz robil tworzyl male prostokaty do zaznaczania w ktorych nie ma zadnych jednostek. Jezeli Ci sie to zdaza to lepiej by Ci nie zmienialo kontroli na lotniskowiec, bo mozesz przez przypadek wydac mu pare glupich rozkazow. Mala rzecz. O tych trzechkropkach prawde mowiac nigdy nie myslalem, wiec prawde mowiac nie znam ich przeznaczenia.

    tier8 Jap CV keep or sell

    I like shokaku because of beta, so I will pretty much always say keep her. The same for Lexi. Overall leave it in port until 0.5.2 and see how it goes from there. In 0.5.1 carriers are plagued with dogfight bug (and others smaller changes), so I would advice to stop playing them for now. If you are not having fun, then there is no point in forcing yourself, you will only hate the ship in the end.

    If game is able to distinguish between DC and pressing command to quit, then changing something so that you don't stop on the spot would be very very easy. Also I am not sure about this stopping. It would be so easy to stop potential abuse. Rejoining the session is not some kind of crazy feature, really. I have no idea why you think this is some kind of invitation for abuse, when this is basic functionality. Especially in game when there can be crashes, desync and stuff like that.

    Then as I have said find a way to prevent abuse. Let people start another game only when their ships is dead, because right now crashesh can result in lost games. I am telling you how it looked for me. Disconnected, tried to connect again, disconnected again, game having issues, finally getting stable connection, port screen. It happened maybe twice, but still this was very very annoying. Not to mention quiting match and rejoining would solve for example descync issues if you have one. Right now I would have to turn my wireless off. Not the best solution and reloading map would be much much faster.

    Acutally I had situations where game though me losing connection = me quitting to port. I sometimes have connection issues and it was very annoying thing to happen when you start your CV game, disconnect, try to connect back only to see empty space in port. 0 damage, 0 exp and game lost. Unless your ship is dead you should not be blocked out of comming back to the game. There is simply no reason. If your ship is alive then maybe just block the option to start another game to prevent abuse. But system which is right now can create very frustrating situations.
