Warspite on sale - but in a bundle

No, it's still as simple as that. People bought into practice that they did not like and now are reaping consequences of it. Virtual good is worth only as much as people are willing to pay and apparently a lot of people were ok with it. RU server most likely did not buy into it and are getting better deal, because WG needs to sell those ships one way or the other. Economy 101 demand and supply.I can't blame company for consumer incompetence and stupidity. Even thought forum was raging about bundles, a lot of people bought Blyskawica which was also in bundle. Those topics, those words are void in the light of the facts and sales. I can have issue with company as this practice is exploiting good will of customer, is shortsighted and is moraly questionable, but at the end of the day it's the customer who is making a choice.

Warspite on sale - but in a bundle

While I do agree with the fact that WG shop practices need overhaul to support good will of long term players, I do not agree with shifting whole blame on WG for this situation. Why? Corporations have no hearth, most human emotions are diluted through the food chain. People who hear your cry and care about it are not the same as people who make decisions how it should be handled and power of your outcry is weaker and weaker with each note passed through each team. Only small companies are able to be close with players (perfect example would be Lab Zero and their direct involvement with the community during their recent Indiegogo). So who is at fault. Customers who are not able to execute their rights. You don’t like it, you don’t buy it, you like it, you buy the hell out of it. If people are supporting bad practices with their money they can have only themselves to blame when those practices become more and more common. You remember how well the Tirpitz sold? Blyskawica, anyone? If you bought them and then complain about your purchase then, hypocrisy thy name is you. If you want to support WG, but don’t support bundles, just buy anything but bundles, show through wallet your opinion, that’s the best way you can talk with corporations. You know why xbox went back with their always online? Because they were being destroyed in preorders by PS4, at the same time media everywhere were not recommending this purchase and they were actively stopping potential buyers. You know why EA went through with Simicity always online? Because people preordered hell out of this game, initial sales were huuuge. So yeah, both WG and spineless customers are to blame here and I want you to remember that always when you think about buying game or something in f2p game. Be responsible.
  3. Mate, you are so far away from real world that any chinese cartoon about punching the moon is closer to the ground than what you have just said. Replace people from those departments with devs? Just take those money and put it somewhere else? I can't even begin to comment how childish, irresponsible, shortsighted and not efficient move would that be. And here, I also bolted the fact that your main concern regarding resource use, is them "fixing a game". You do not have any problem with a game that would require texture fix or sound fix. You want something else. Which would never happen. Also I like how you are implying that paying consumers are cheated out of their money. Since those money were used on wages for people who did content you don't care about. Talk about entitlement, jesus christ. Me, me, me how dare they did something for someone else who also pays. Q.Q If it makes you happy, I am sure there is enoguh paying anme fans globaly to make this content viable financialy. So it's not like they took something from you. Also we really don't know and will never know the details of partnership, we just know that this content was announced long time ago and was bound to happen simply because of the asian market. So yeah, this argument is also flawed. How dare we get asia exclusive content which was created because of partnerships between two companies. So you are telling me that when you saw the space battles from space event you though that you hate space and would never try this game because of it? Mate, do nothing and you will never see this content in game. Sure you might want to have real looking and sounding battleships, but some just don't care what type of paint is on the ship. I was using both anime mods and both historical mods. He was arguing that game should be "pure" because of historical accuracy. Something which is shattered instantly when you look at MM with mixed nations. Even ship specs are more or less inspired by WW2 ships, there are a lot of liberties. There is nothing "pure" about this game since it's an arcade-y game., not a simulation. Once again this argument is wrong, because this content is by default turned off and would never impact immersion of people who prefer this game to be "clean". Their choice.
  4. New gundam is pretty fun. Overall I agree that anime has huge issue with otaku pandering shows that are creatively dead. Copies of one story multiplied ad nauseam with the same plotlines, characters and designs, but there are still good shows beeing made. There are also bad shows which try something else and are creative. There is a lot of crap, I know it all too well (I start a lot of currently airing shows), but there are also less known intresting ones. Anime is really hard to describe in couple of words or even talk about, simply because it's so big. How can you group and talk at the same about shows which one for example is all about tits lasers and mindless over the top action, second is dialogue heavy eastern fairytale, third is bizzare experience which mix cute and disturbing elements in very uncanny way to tell a viewer something philosophical, fourth is pretty much japanese harry potter made for kids etc. etc.

    Arpeggio of Blue Steel

    Heh... http://forum.worldofwarships.eu/index.php?/topic/38259-new-event-arpeggio-of-blue-steel-ars-nova-invading-world-of-warships/page__st__40__pid__714376#entry714376 http://forum.worldofwarships.eu/index.php?/topic/38259-new-event-arpeggio-of-blue-steel-ars-nova-invading-world-of-warships/page__st__80__pid__714753#entry714753

    Arpeggio of Blue Steel

Hello Bob_Steady. Just to clear some things out. From what we know so far is that you don't have to do anything to not see that arpeggio stuff. You would have to actively turn it on to see it. By default nothing will change for you. Second is that, from what we know this is mainly cosmetic stuff and I don't think there will be MM segregation or any significant impact on the gameplay. So don't worry about that either. I hope it clears your main concerns. As or introducing silly content. Personally I like it since I think stagnation is much worse enemy of the game. As long as you don't go overboard and shift your focus to it I think there is only benefit.
  7. Oh, mate, come on. It's not like you don't have exprience with those types of players. Games and days like that happen from time to time. I understand where are you comming from, but you know. No reason to rant. Also don t attribute to malice what can be explained by stupidity. Some people are just bad. There are issues with "it's just a game " argument in the team oriented competetive game, but there is some truth to it. Mainly that you should be able to ignore that guy and focus on having fun with better people, who are not playing so bad that it feels like they are playing against you. Also by reading that I thank god that I am playing carriers. There might be some other annoyances, but not depending so much on a team is really really relaxing.
  8. There will be no war since most people do not care. There was initial volatile reaction that was understandable. People don't know the details and are scared that suddenly they will have obnoxious pictures pasted all over their game. They just need to know that this content will be turned off by default and that it did not impact game dev process. That's all, after people understand that there is no reason to get pitchforks for, I have heard that this contet is bad (dismissing it) because it's polarising (because some people will dismiss it) which is logical loophole. I think WG did great job of telling us about this early, because we can get out of our system most of the concerns and complains. Now in a week a lot of people will be happy with idea of this side content while rest will not care. Any gripe with the content itself has no lasting power so any antagonism will just vanish with time.
  9. I want Ectar to draw the captain portraits!
  10. Like what? There are already historical cameo skins and stuff like that so mod argument is equall for both. I really don't think there is anything significant to do for 2D artist and sound team. I hope that this is just beginning and we will have more stuff like that comming with anime and without anime. There is stuff to do ofc, but it's not so essential to really be bothered by existance of this anime stuff. The same way not everything you can do with mods, there are no voice overs, custom effects like lasers (probably they will reuse assets from space event) etc. Quality, I am excited for quality. This stuff was bound to show up, it was just a matter of time. partnership was announced months and months ago.
  11. Aren't you one of the people who complained against this event? What you write right now does look strange, when you were writing against it creating polarisation you are talking about. I will say this. Proposition to block event is in a way hillarious and shows the level of this community. People are ready to rally against something that by default will not affect them, only because if it were turned on it would clash with their taste. People are willing to block content for other people just because they don't like it. They want to make this event region locked when earlier was complains about region lock events. This doesn't reflect good on the community and people should think about it. I agree with you that there much bigger concerns that people should focus on, but forum is what forum is. I have slow day at work, so I don't mind this pointless bickering. Most people don't care either way.
  12. I would play the clown mode with guns shooting confetti and torps beeing balloon sharks with squeaky noices when they swim and pink smoke when they hit.
  13. I doubt arpeggio content is 2GB. It would be amazing, but I really really doubt that. Ok, this one does make sense and sounds like a problem indeed. Others are still silly, but this one I think is a valid concern for that particular market. Still we have no idea how big that stuff is, but it's intresting quirk of a market.
  14. Or maybe they did it and signed partnership because they knew that WW2 and anime has couple of crossovers. The same way Girls und Panzer which also had event. The only difference is that GuP event was region locked and this is global. Which I don't know... should be celebrated. WG just say that they see that there are some anime fans here and they wanted to make something cool with the IP they think those players will enjoy. Something which did not affect game nor game development. Different teams, different tasks. I am sure "other priorities" are in the different pipeline. This shouldn't affect any "real" content you are so upset about. Wow, they have problem with downloading it? That is.. what? And they are angry because... the event is global? That is bad... how? And ofc, different teams different tasks. Amazing.
  15. Read It's not forced, you have to manual turn it on. That's big difference.
  16. Pure visual content. Something which is very light and has no gameplay impact. You can turn it off if it doesn't suit you. There is no need to care what other have on screens. Once again. Different type of content. You can't ask 2D artist who do textures or guys from sound team to create whole new tech line. At the same time creating tech line takes a looooong time. This type of content can be done rather fast as it doesn't need to go through for example balance team etc. It's fluff. Since those are different teams which have different resposibilites creating this contetnt shouldn't affect game dev and shouldn't strain any resources. Creating this doesn't mean you potentialy lose something else. You already got huge influx of kids from WoT. Also content is from tier V so it's most likely aimed at current players to make some of them happy. And it will make them happy. For people who do not like it, there is an option to NEVER see it. This stuff and partnership was planned and announced even before beta on the asian expo if I remember correctly. The main target most likely is asian server. Now you can complain that why we are getting it... but then again weren't people recently complaining that we don't have the same events? You are angry that some people will have something to have fun with, something which will not affect you in any way where the only other option for this event would be that it would be region exclusive. And you dare to call people who want it childish? Come on. Edit. I have a song for you:
  17. Seriously if you can turn it off then It's just silly stuff. And yeah it's childish cartoon fix for me and you know what? I see nothing immature about it. There is a place and time to be an adult and life verifies your ability to adapt very fast, but there are also times when levity and carelessness is not something to be ashamed of. If it doesn't impose on others then there is no harm.
  18. Sorry, couldn't stop myself when I noticed you also did not like space event. Since current information is that it's only visual that can be turned off. I would really like to hear that this arpeggio mode could be permament if someone wants it. I can speak only for myself, but I would buy it with a smile. I like this type of vanity content if it's high quality (voices, effects etc.). Considering it would not impact other player experience I don't see why not.
  19. You could have said the same thing about space event. There is no basis for negative reaction towards this event other than anime as a concept is offending my sensibilities. Since this is content that can be fully turned off, I see no reason to continue that line of thought either. I do understand that some people do not like this stuff, since it can be obnoxious, but once again. You are free to ignore it. The same way people do ignore my anime reaction images which I post from time to time. I try to always scale them to 300 height so they do not take big part of the screen for people who browse forum, but still it's anime stuff during serious discussion. What I see here is people just venting their frustrations, because of the bundles and because of the RN and other stuff. Anime is easy thing to get offended by as it's very much personal taste, so here you go. Still it's just emotional reaction, not logical. As I have said, there is no way that this cosmetic stuff affects main development of the game since usually this stuff is done by different teams. This event was planned for Asia for a long time and I think it's actually really great that we are treated equally, for once. It's just fun stupid cosmetic stuff that is made for people who enjoy it. It will not affect you and in contrary to what you write I can't imagine anyone leaving game because there is some content he doesn't like which he can turn off. Hardly a deal breaker.

  21. They did not take the guys who make 3d models to do skins and voices. They did not take the Balance team guys to make skins and voice for anime related stuff. I have no idea how exactly the dev team manage their workload, but stuff like THAT shouldn't strain dev process in any significant way. So I would really like to not see this argument anymore, as it is flawed. As for resources, if WG got paid to do it or gets money from it, then actually it is net gain for the game since it could have secured more funds to do more "serious" stuff. Please, this game is really arced-y. Granted it has slower pace, but in no way is close to reality to warrant this reaction. At the same time please note that you can disable it, so if you prefer to have pure experience you can do it. Nothing to get angry about. I would love to see that, skins for history buffs are great idea to have. I actually like the idea of skins in games and prefer this model over buying premium and consumable goods. I like to have stuff, so skins are great, premium ships also are fun to have.

Wake up, WG: you lost 50% of players in 5 months

Tomorrow she should be fine again.

My thoughts on the problems facing carriers

I almost forgot. Heavy fighters setups, were and are still the newbie trap. I have no idea why people lean towards those setups when their efficiency is so low. The only decent "fighter" setup up to tier VIII is Lexi 2/1/1 and only because it's hardly "fighter" setup but more like defensive balanced setup.

My thoughts on the problems facing carriers

Hi Meneleus First of all, glad you cared enough to write this feedback, as for the content itself I have couple of comments. I don’t think there is any need for RNG elements in the torpedo bombers. RNG in gun dispersion might be annoying, but fact is that without it the autocorrection games does would be too obvious and without those people would not hit anything. Shooting is super complicated so adding RNG to smooth the performance is not such a bad idea. New players might sometimes score lucky citadel which feels great and as long as good players can score much more than avg players then there is nothing wrong. With torps the situations is different. They are slow, predictable and have huge reload times. Any significant amount of rng would be very obvious and would have huge impact. In the situation when rng would “save” the enemy ship, then the satisfaction of that ship would not be big since he did not perform anything to do it and at the same time frustration of the carrier player would be immense as he would feel cheated out of the damage. The potential impact of it is just too big. So this is a huge No. If you want to adjust performance of torpedo bombers there are better tools. As for the options. I would assume a lot of them will be added to the game WHEN devs will feel good with the implementation of carriers as a whole. AP bombs for example would not work very well with current implementation of Dive Bombers and will require some changes to them. At the same time it’s much easier to fix gameplay issues when there is not a lot of content which makes stats more difficult to read. Patterns are easier to see. With time more content will be added for sure, but first they have to find right spot for the basic gameplay, then they will probably release premium CV. AAA as a whole feels like a placeholder system more than anything else. At the same time panic button for CA was balanced around the beta gameplay and with such a big number of fighter planes in the air it is too much. This was most likely reasons of recent nerfs. AAA needs to be expanded. I have written a bit more here http://forum.worldofwarships.eu/index.php?/topic/37037-aa-is-unfixable-right-now/page__pid__685786#entry685786Even shorter version:- Steep progression curve for carriers is creating issues with AAA when enemy is lower tier than you and higher tier than you. Values needs to be smoothed out globaly for both AAA and plane surv and speed.- AAA zones need to be expanded so it will take into account direction from which planes are approaching. As for the high tier OP. Issue is with speed, planes are simply too good and because of it at high tier is much easier to perform well than on lower. I must say that for me tier VIII was always most fun and most balanced, even with Shokaku 0/3/3.
