Update 0.6.10 Feedback - Sound Changes

PLEASE turn down the ship explosions and improve their quality. Both their volume and quality are way out of line with the rest of the sounds.

    HMS Orion - Detonation

Also, you may want to be aware that what you call the "magazines" has little to do with the turrets of the ship. In fact, the greatest part (i.e. prob about 80%) of what we call the citadel area of ANY ship in the game is filled with powder and shells, all of which can go BOOM very easily. They carried a LOT of the stuff back in the day. iChase had a construction drawing of the Iowa on his channel a while back that showed practically the entire midsection of the ship consisting of nothing but magazines, but I can't be bothered with digging it up. And yeah, in game, stuff doesn't have to "penetrate" in the actual sense to break stuff. HE and torps have a splash radius, for example.

    April Fools Division Bug

Update (I am one of the affected captains): Checking the integrity of the game files in the launcher fixed the problem. HOWEVER: We encountered a new problem after my mate sent the submarine captain to the reserve (not sure why he wanted to try that). This caused the game to crash again. Checking file integrity once again fixed the problem, luckily. Our advice: DO NOT SELECT, LOOK AT, OR OTHERWISE INTERACT WITH THE SUBMARINE. IT IS A TOOL OF SATAN.
  4. With the direction the recent patches and game changes have been going, it is clear to me that WG is trying to cater to new and low-skill players in hopes of enlarging the player base while risking pissing off skillful veteran players. I don't think it's going to work because it's near-impossible IMO to make a game that is equally fun and rewarding for skillful players as it is for casual players. Therefore, my suggestion would be to split the game into two modes (battle types) for this purpose: Arcade Battles and Simulator Battles (working titles). The Arcade Battle Mode would be for beginners and casuals and could feature all the new hand-holding "magic" skills like Radio Position Finding, On the Mark and such. In fact, you might even consider doing away with stealth altogether in this mode and just make all ships visible to everyone all the time. the simplest and fairest option. The Simulation Battle Mode however, should not feature these things in order to give competitive and more "serious" players who want tactical options and a certain element of surprise and unpredictability in their gaming experience a good challenge. Also, proposed changes to this mode might actually be developed and implemented in coordination with its player base. Players would have the same ships available in their port for both modes, but depending on which mode you chose, the relevant game features would be changed. Much like in War Thunder - although their split into modes has some issues as well, it does allow very different play styles and experiences within one game. Thoughts, anyone?

Split the game into Arcade Mode and Simulation Mode

Allow me to clarify. By "simulation mode", I did not mean a "realistic" depiction of naval combat. In fact I meant the game we have now, with no changes (except possibly some rollbacks on recent pro-noob changes). What I want is for future dumbing-down of gameplay (like RPF) for the people who don't want to think while playing to be put into a separate "arcade mode". And I do actually think the player base (at least on EU server) is large enough to support that.

Public Test 0.6.0 Feedback - New Skill System

Like most others, I am heavily opposed to the general introduction of the RPF skill into the game. However, please see (and discuss) my suggestion on a global development strategy for WoWS that would allow for changes like this for casual players without breaking the game for more serious and competitive players under this link in the Gameplay section (didn't know where else to put it). Thanks.
  7. Could it be that "Manners maketh man" is for receiving an "Assisted in chat" compliment, while "Life and Soul of the Party" is for "Plays well"? Someone want to test? Second hypothesis: You get "Manners" for capping a zone previously capped by the enemy. Third hypothesis: Start capping a zone, but leave again before cap is complete.
  8. @ Fujnik: I have King of the Party and do not have all the other achievements. Incorrect.
