I wonder how many different cultures you find on the RU Server or the NA Server for that matter. EU really is a mixture of a lot of different countries and cultures, wouldn't know about Asia, though. Games such as this are probably extremely interesting for social research ;-)

What he and mal_h wrote actually is bloody obvious, yet often forgotten. People can come up with all kinds of ideas and the more people you get involved, the more mutually exclusive ideas you get. Add to that the lack of manners by a portion of the community and you get a quickly deteriorating environment to work with. May be I'm just old, but in my experience, trying to be polite to people, especially when you're the who wants something from them, usually pays off. At least you more often than not get a polite response, even if it's an eloquent version of "no".

Which forum members have you seen in random battles?

Are you running an AA troll Lex as well? -
May be this thread would be a more appropriate place for your questions and ideas? http://forum.worldofwarships.eu/index.php?/topic/44069-053-balance-changes-aa-and-carriers-feedback/

There's some threads and posts which are at odds with your 'idea'. Nevertheless, I'd applaud any effort to make the processes behind the scenes a tad more transparent. I don't want to be in bcc of all their mails (well...), it'd be good to give people a bit more insight, it might even help getting them to understand one or two things... Well, that's naive me speaking :-/

Something else.... would it at all be possible to give players some kind of information as to how many planes they need to shoot down in a particular battle to achieve the clear skies award, if not during the battle then after it? Right now it's kinda gambling and you never really know when you're there until it pops up. And frankly, planes from non-carrier vessels should not be figured into this calculation anyway as it's not the mainstay weapon of any of these ships. E.g. a ship is sunk at the start of the battle, that's several planes an opposing carrier can not shoot down any more. Likewise you can just not count on people starting these planes, unlike carrier aircraft. Would that actually be possible? Judging by the post battle result screen, the game does track the individual carrier specific aircraft, but can it discern between a fighter which belonged to a carrier and a fighter which belonged to a cruiser / battleship? I've seen a lost plane count for carriers in the post battle result screen but never bothered looking at this when in a non-carrier vessel.

I do wonder if they have a look at other forums, too. The Redshirts have told us that they do collect feedback and send it over to Russia, but I wonder how that process looks like in practice and whether or not it actually adds something to the thought processes of the development team in general.

Don't worry about this information somehow not being transferred to other communites...

MM Game assembly based on player statistics
Takru replied to _Chief_Engineer's topic in General Discussion
Yes, you can express your thought, but I can also express when I think you are wrong. Nevermind that the logic you apply does not seem terribly logical to begin with. -
Give that man a medal already! Heck, most WG employees are probably readings this as well to learn whats going on...

MM Game assembly based on player statistics
Takru replied to _Chief_Engineer's topic in General Discussion
Nevermind that he switches from saying "I do not say it is a WG conspiracy... Only that MM programming can be improved!" to "your daily stats or hour stats maybe reset or something? ...Or there is some other filter for MM..." So he starts out with some flaw in the MM algorithm and suddenly switches to deliberate mechanics of said algorithms.... It is of course much easier to blame supposedly secret mechanics than to consider what one could have done better... -
MM Game assembly based on player statistics

Do it for yourself. Or install XVM or a comparable mod to see stats and ratings of people in your battle. No matter what I write here, you'll want to see for yourself anyway. -

If there was a filter, you'd assume that Wargaming had made that a deliberate decision where they certainly have not. Nevermind that you're moving away from your argument of a flawed Matchmaker and begin to accuse Wargaming of putting you into "worse" teams deliberately. However, when you bother to look up who is making up the teams you play with and against, you'll notice that they'll be fairly balanced most of the time from stats point of view. -
MM Game assembly based on player statistics
Takru replied to _Chief_Engineer's topic in General Discussion
1) Yes. It always matters and more often is not critical to the outcome of any battle. 2) The contribution came before the shutdown or after I regained connection. 3) There is no conspiracy. There is no flawed parameters in the Matchmaker. Make screenshots of your battles and look up the stats of those who fought with you, or just install XVM for a comparable impression. There's people with "beter" stats and worse stats on both teams, all the time. -

I fail to see the logic of your reasoning. May be it really is down to that last bit of more effect on the battle on your side? -
MM Game assembly based on player statistics
Takru replied to _Chief_Engineer's topic in General Discussion
Mate, what would be the logic of that? On what grounds would Wargaming put you in losing teams all the time? What stats do you think are responsible for you being put into losing teams? May be it's rather that teams are pretty evenly matched but that some people just have to be that tiny bit better / lucky during battle so their team wins? Nevermind that if you bother to use XVM or similar mods, you'll notice that teams often are relatively balanced stats-wise. -
Early war US Torps about 95% dud, yeah, take that US Navy
-
No, it'd seems to be a 2/3/0 loadout where each squadron is only 3 planes strong.

Q&A stream next week - send me your questions
Takru replied to Crysantos's topic in General Discussion
Plans on Russian BBs? Are theay actually looking into Russian carriers at this point? Also... Russian ships in general seem to be rather "special". Low armor, long range guns with flat trajectory. When the US ships had that in CBT, their shell angles were worsened, still quite visible on the Atlanta and other cruisers who have to send their shells into orbit before they are allowed to hit something. -
Sorry if this is not the right place, don't know where else to put it. I've received a Jolly Roger II, but it only says "A commemorative flag granted for achieving Rank 1 again." Others have received the same flag but it also reads in their description "Two such flags are automatically exchanged for an award ship." So I assume either the description on my flag is wrong or the description on theirs... Not a major problem, but... help? Please? Is it may be related to how well someone played in ranked, i.e. winratio? If so, what are the thresholds? *Edit: Never write posting before first coffee.... Forgot appropriate thread title
-
Yes, this is a possibility. I see that in my own stats too. However, you'd still make small but noticable improvements in your stats. Whoever knows their nicknames might find their stats within the last few weeks.

Shamelessly pointing to this thread: http://forum.worldofwarships.eu/index.php?/topic/46857-wargaming-and-the-players/ Question being: Are those people not willing to learn, are they not able to learn or are they oblivious to their statistical performance compared to other players? I mean, they obviously lose more often than not, which my naive mind interprets as less joy than they could potentially have with the game.
