Not stuff from the RU Forums, but interesting nontheless. via himmelsdorf.com

Source There are 4 Myoko class ships planned for ARP in total, the next ARP event for RU Server will come in April. Someone complains (again) that it takes 9.999.999 XP from captain rank 18 to rank 19. This was made because the devs have yet to enter the next stage of captain development. AA on ships like the Bogatyr is based on game balancing purpose The rest escapes my google skills :-/

Pretty much this. That's also a reason why mal_h went out of his way to explain, and explain at quite epic length I have to say, why things are the way they are. Obviously, they're all talking about RU Server only, since their presence on forums abroad is almost nil. ArdReis being the sole exception I am aware of and he's posting mostly on the NA forums. On the other hand, I can see why the total lack of direct contact with the players abroad also leads to frustration there. If the devs could initiate something similar to the Q&A thread on the RU forums on the the other servers as well, that could ease things a bit. Nowadays, I got a feeling that not only regular players but also WG staff look up what Carnotzet wrote to find out what the heck is going on.
  7. I call secondaries only! At max range!

Not on purpose. I enjoy playing vastly different playstyles. Each line plays different, even ships within those lines play substantially different sometimes. It also opens your eyes to what an enemy ship actually is capable of when you have played it yourself.
  9. I'm in two minds... I understand that Wargaming wants to sell that ship to as many potential customers as possible, but at the same time, I don't see how winning 20 CV games in total and having a CV of at least Tier 5 would prepare you for T7 battles.
  10. Thanks, mate. Has been posted here, too: http://forum.worldofwarships.eu/index.php?/topic/31444-some-interesting-info-from-ru/page__st__1520__pid__935559#entry935559

Found it here: http://forum.worldofwarships.ru/index.php?/topic/45996-%D1%81%D1%82%D1%80%D0%B0%D0%BD%D0%B8%D1%87%D0%BA%D0%B0-%D0%BF%D0%BE%D1%81%D0%B2%D1%8F%D1%89%D1%91%D0%BD%D0%BD%D0%B0%D1%8F-%D0%BF%D1%80%D0%B5%D0%BC%D0%B8%D1%83%D0%BC-%D0%BC%D0%B0%D0%B3%D0%B0%D0%B7%D0%B8%D0%BD%D1%83-%D0%B8%D0%B3%D1%80%D1%8B-world-of-w/page__st__1280__pid__2045408#entry2045408 Thanks to shipcomrade's redtracker.

Can you point me towards the thread you've found that? I take that these are RU requirements only and that requirements for other regions can differ?

Visuals for Number of remaining Secondaries/AA

I had the a chance to ask Ev1n a question in this regard last year in September and back then, he said that'd be useful for the players and that they'd be looking into this...
  15. Only now noticed that there is a quadrupel Bofors Mk2 40mm AA gun on the Essex, mounted directly beneath the flight deck. However, since the flghdeck extends quite a bit, this gun has so little room for elevation that I wonder how it is supposed to function as an AA gun. It even got it's own rangefinder next to it, at least it looks like something like that. Similarily, the horizontal firearc of this quadrupel 40mm Bofors Mk2 emplacement on the Lexington seem to be very limited as well. Being tucked away between the island and the funnel (nevermind the bridge above it, which apparently leads nowhere), this position can do only so much to add the the AA fire. ...and what is this thing? It's on the Pensacola, on the deck between the rearmost 127mm dual purpose guns.
  16. Click here: http://maplesyrup.sweet.coocan.jp/wows/ranking/ShipAvgList/ShipAvgList.html Profit... ...As I said to your colleage, you 2 are the ones that lack arguments but profiles... Care to discuss what's happening to US CVs? As you've been shown by him already, it's not the carriers that are the problem. We're looking at a gargantuan difference in winrating of less than 2-3% between the USN and IJN carriers with the exception of T10, where the Midway suffers from having way too few squadrons in the air compared to the Hakuryu and the loss of her second TB squadron. Damages difference on T7-9 shows less than 5k difference. Again, learn your ship and play to it's advantages. We're arguing on personal experience, something you can't really do, nevermind that your own experience playing the supposedly much stronger IJN line is exactly nil.
  17. Well yeah, I've been a burden to my teams as well. Really, did it ever occur to you that you might perform badly because you perform badly? US CV line specialises where IJN CV line generalises. Until briefly after the release of the game, the roles were reversed.

    Odd gun emplacements (and stuff)

Indeed, just look at the ramming prows on some of the ships around T2-3.
  19. Every air superiority setup on any CV also has bombers. Either you make more use of them or you switch to one of the other setups. You can't just make the missions goals work for every class and every setup.

    Odd gun emplacements (and stuff)

I did recognize them as air intakes for the boilers, but they're just so huge, nevermind that there's 4 of them on that ship. Judging by the size, you could theoretically get twice as much fresh air into the ship than you could lose through combustion.
