    Sorry for being thick here, but does this mean that in each team of 12 to 15 people, only 9 will win those prices and that the other 3 to 6 people will not? Considering that you have these guys as reserves, that they arrange to be available and that some of those might actually play in some of these battles, that seems to be a bit... discouraging for them.

    Yes, I can see that, like triple commander XP instead of the usual bonus or somesuch. Also, in other games you can win premium currency, albeit small amounts...

    If you enjoy a ship or a line, you're going to play them regarldess of bonus. The weekend bonus distracts from line grinding imho, as it encourages you to play way more and vastly different ship.

  18. Saw RNGsama and _FTD_ yesterday, together with another gentlemen I didn't recognize. RNGsama was unfortunate to be sunk early on in his Tashkent when he tried to cap, don't know how _FTD_ was sunk in his Atago.

    High tier DDs can choose between Defensive Fire and Speedboost. Also note that DD guns up there are dual purpose and do beneft from BFT, AFT and manual AA perks. They can dish out quite a repectable AA wall. While it is true that firing secondary / AA guns increses the visibility of a ship, it does not do so by a lot. On top of this, DDs are notoriously hard to hit, especially at longer ranges, assuming you have a line of sight to the target in the first place.

    You missed the point of DDs and some CAs having longer AA range than their air detectability. BBs are easy to spot as it is, you don't need planes to do that. Spotting DDs and CAs is what is more important, as you can potentially sink those a lot faster than BBs. Of course, all of this is assuming that the enemy CV is comatose and not trying to do anything about whatever you are doing.

    You'd need to enable players to select this mode specifically because if you make it last longer than any other mode, you'd want to have people playing this mode who actually want to stay for that long in that battle. There's also the issue of area of effect, faster ships would benefit from this a lot more than slower ships.

    Erm, actually, it depends on the ship you're trying to keep spotted. Sure, a BB or CV can be spotted from outside their AA range, not so much when you think of DDs or some cruisers. And again, if you want to keep enemies spotted, you need to have one or more squadrons doing that. Those squadrons can not rearm / be used elsewhere. Me being a noob (skybuckflying certified no less!) might be naive here, but I wonder how you will solve this conundrum.

    So in addition to a surveilance station, which helps finding enemy ships within it's range, and a fort, which shoots at enemy ships within it's range, you want a third base type which can repair ships within it's range? Would have to put it where it is easily reachable for both teams, so people have to fight for this potentially powerful feature, which in itself might make the whole idea moot.
