Some people have been voicing their opinions about the rewards for the tournament. How important is it really to you and your teams? Are you participating for lots of prizes or are you participating because you enjoy playing, in this format, against organised opponents? The competitive scene in WoWs is still in it's infancy and the organizers can only do so much to promote it. What we really would need from Wargaming would be viable spectator modes, amongst other things. Once WoWs actually supports competitive, we can talk about becoming (semi) professional. This is why I personally don't see Wargaming spending as much on WoWs tournaments as on WoT stuff. Yet. That said, I assume that it would be a nice touch if any participant would get something, regardless of how well their team did.

Constant CTDs after patch 0.6.1 (continuing with 0.6.2)
Takru replied to Aotearas's topic in Archive
Didn't have any problems at all so far. Do you play other games which cause CTD? Any other applications that do eat about as much resources? I think you upload the file when you add .zip to the file extension. Seems as if this forum is only restricing uploading of certain filetypes. -
Just shy of 300 games, most battles spent around Rank 3-5.

Gewertete Gefechte, der Nebel des Grauens ..........
Takru replied to Pupsraupe's topic in Allgemeine Diskussionen

Bastion mode schon vergessen? Den drölften "mimimi zu viel Nebel" thread aufzumachen macht einfach so gra keinen Sinn. -

Stealth firing removal: also for Premiums!
Takru replied to Sams_Baneblade's topic in General Discussion
I didn't say it wouldn't take away depth from the game, I don't believe that it's an important aspect of the game for a sizable number of players and that it is actually counterproductive for the game because of how helpless players can feel when they're subjected to that kind of thing without much in the ways of retaliation options. -
Stealth firing removal: also for Premiums!
Takru replied to Sams_Baneblade's topic in General Discussion
There isn't much depth to be gained from a mechanic that allows one player to shoot at the other while the latter can't really retaliate. Worse still, it's something that a mechanic that a selected few can take advantage of, putting off less experienced players from the game. That kind of mechanic is keeping me from playing WoT for example. -
Aside from what Sama already clarified... Since you are obviously not interested in the tournament at all (because if you were, you might have accepted the invitation to the Discord or had read the publicly available info thread etc), I have to wonder why you keep throwing all those accusiations at people because of an event you quite obviously don't intent do participate in in the first place. Appears to be another case of lots of opinion with no evidence whatsoever to back it up.

Making DD lines that are not really fun to play surely helps adressing that BB overpopulation problem, righ? -.-

I'd rather not support that type of guy, not even by visiting that particular site. Instead I rather go for the actual source. -

Discussion thread for "some interesting info around the world"
Takru replied to Deamon93's topic in General Discussion
Sub Octavian when someone on reddit brought up disparate server population treatment: "But I kindly ask you to stop making divisions. " Wargaming is making those divisions themselves. Players just see them and have been asking for ages why the do it. Over and over again. -
So now you get an extra chance to join the tournament and decline it because... Dude, things need to get organized beforehand. Have you even the faintest idea how much time it takes to coordinate that many people? This isn't just the teams, this is Conway getting stuff prepared in time, too. Not to mention the casters or someone doing a trailer. You think the world is waiting for you? Think again.

Schweinerei! EU Server mal wieder benachteiligt!

Könnt ihr euren englischen Mods bitte mal erklären was jedes Jahr in NRW los ist? http://forum.worldofwarships.eu/index.php?/topic/75215-na-camo-carnival-event/page__pid__1674318#entry1674318 -
At this stage I would like to remind everyone about ALN when they surprisingly went a lot further than anybody expected, I think it was during the OMC cup. They were new, nobody had heard much of them and they brought something else to the table.

Sorry to say so, but having had a look at your profile, it's not the others that cheat, it's you not properly understanding how the game works. You're mosty playing battleships and are currently grinding through the German BB line. Your main battery hit ratio worsens from 19% (tier 3) to 15% (tier 7). This is partially understandable since the average engagement range increases with higher tiers, but this hit ratio is really low to start with (and we're talking about a large enough sample size of games in those ships, too). Unsurprsingly, this also leads to low average damage. Yes, you have your moments with some 75k-100k damage on tier 6 and 7, but those are far and between. Looking closer, your average damage between all your ships doesn't noticably increase despite those ships ranging from tier 3 to tier 7. This means that when you hit, you do little damage on average, so you're either aiming for the wrong spots or using the wrong ammunition for that particular situation. Something else which springs to mind is your survival rate, you survive about 2/3rd of all games you play. This is indicative for you hanging back, quite a lot, which in turn also is a factor why your hit ratio with your main guns is comparatively low. All in all, I suspect that if you were playing a bit more agressively with your BBs you'd increase your hit ratio, average damage and potentially your winrate. You might survive less often, but since this doesn't affect your cost in credits for a battle these days, you're not losing anything but a few percentages in a statistic most people don't care about too much. German battleships are good brawlers with poor accuracy at long range. Specialise your captain and modules towards secondary gun range and accuracy, get into the thick of a battle when you see that you're not the only one on that flank. Be the spearhead. PS.: About those Gneisenau torpedoe hit rate of 1% in 154 battles... keep in mind that those have a maximum range of only 6km. At that range, you should hit your opponent with about 1 of those three torpedoes per salvo by ignoring the target lead indicator and instead watching which way he is turning.
-
Mate, the range of your torpedoes is 6 km in those ships. There really is not much room between you and the enemy ship you are aiming at if you intend to hit the enemy with those. Bearing this in mind, if there is a friendly in a position where he might run into your torpedoes under such circumstances, you're better off holding your fire, at least for the time being. Chances are that the friendly might get the kill or be killed but either way, if you drop torps into him, you're negatively affecting him whether or not you actually hit him. Hits by friendly secondary shells don't count towards friendly fire damage. Ramming teammates does so little damage to you, even when you're pink, it's really neglectable.
