    Non, c'est pas exactement ça. Ils sont pas inspirés des DD italiens, ils sont construits avec l'aide et les méthodes italiennes. En fait, les DD russes sont plus des DD construits par les italiens mais avec un cahier des charges radicalement différent de celui qu'ils ont habituellement. DOnc ils sont très différents des DD IT mais les deux sont d'origines italienne. Par contre, je le répèterai jamais assez, mais le blueprint à l'origin de Khaba était une copie quasi conforme de Capitani Romani qui était elle-même une réponse à Mogador, donc en théorie si WG fait les choses de manière logique (loin d'être le cas btw) les DD TX italiens, français et russes seraient quasi identiques.

    It was largely unknown during the war and shortly after but a lot of research were conducted, gathering the informations from both sides, every possible survivors, clearing discrepencies by checking the wrecks and so on. I have good trust in the infos we have nowadays on the battle as they are surpringly accurate and reliable. We may never know the exact dispotion of everything but we can know fairly welle who hit who how and when. And mostly where too. And yes, even torpedoes. Funnily enough, if we were talking about any other battle, I'd have considered the second part of what you said indeed true. But this is the FIrst Naval Battle of Guadalcanal and that's probably the one for which it was the less true. Look at Midway. No Arashi means Enterprises's squadrons never reach the Kido Butai. Kaga and Akagi escape unharmed from the fateful five minutes. But Guadalcanal ? It WAS mess. Both fleets were entangled and every ship was fighting for itself. They were so much out of formation, that one more or one less wouldn't have affected the battle much. Besides that, I have one more argument to confort the fact that Yuudachi played no role : she circled the US fleet and attacked the rear of the column, where she engaged Juneau and Barton. At the rear of the column, there was also Fletcher, which wasn't engaged but didn't affect the battle because she was too far at the rear and couldn't position in time to truly enter the melee. Yuudachi most likely engaged ships that would have played little if any role in the battle anyway.

    In fact Yuudachi didn't cause much, if any, damage at all. Most of the damage she was credited with belonged to Amatsukaze's torpedo strike. Poi mostly got pwnd during the battle. Talk 'bout a nightmare. She had about as productive a night as Akatsuki. ... okay, maybe not that low. It's a fun vid but inaccurate at parts and some important battles like Cape St George and Vella Gulf are missing (and also some of my favorite, Vella Lavella and Empress Augusta Bay)

    Ouais, certes, c'est basé sur des faits historique (le layout des canons ne m'a pas choqué pasque j'étais au courant que Gascogne était sensé devenir la base des BB FR futurs) mais dans les fait ça reste une invention. Sinon, pour le nom... Je dis ça je dis rien mais Friedreich der Grosse j'ai genre aucune idée de qui c'est alors je pense pas qu'un nom propre au pif du genre Napoléon ou même je sais pas D'Entrecastaux aurait posé problème de ce coté.

    To add to this comment : The Type 93 Model 1 Mod 2 reached 40km at 38kn. At same speed : The US 21'' Mk 15 didn't exceed 9km The UK 21'' Mk IX** didn't exceed 13km The French 55cm 23DT Toulon didn't exceed 12km The Italian 53.3cm Si 270/533.4 x 7.2 M didn't exceed 8km The German 53.3cm G7a T1 didn't exceed 10km The Russian 533mm 53-38 hardly even reached 6km The Swedish 533mm M/1927 JA hardly hit more than 8km For any lower range 40km, the Type 93 could go faster (50kn for 20km of range). Hardly any torpedo in the world was capable of exceeding 4km at 50kn. If they could even achieve such a speed.

    En fait les anglais ont rapidement enlevé une tourelle de la plupart des Tribal (dès 1940), notamment Cossack pour la remplacer par une double de 102mm. Une autre partie des Tribal a même été construit directement avec le 102mm à la place d'une des 120mm. Qui sait, ptet un DD avec un canon secondaire du coup. (BTW, les versions canadiennes avaient carrémenent 4*2 102mm)

    Oh yeah, btw, theorically we could avoid using Kai-Akizuki and use her real name, Yamazuki. It's not often design ships had a name - even if only after being reordered to a simplifyied design - so might aswell use it right ? Not to be mistaken with Yamasame which is Kai-Yuugumo.
