Recruitment Poster Contest - Results
Crysantos replied to The_EURL_Guy's topic in News & Announcements
Sorry mate, Both MrConway and me were off to TwitchCon over the last weekend and I just returned to the office yesterday, I'll take care of your message today - sorry for the delay. Greetings, Crysantos -
Hi there, Sorry to hear that you had this incident but please don't assume that it's automatically the client's issue, there are many unrelated reasons that might lead to a game crash. Please provide us with a WGCheck after a client crash, then we can look into potential issues for that crash and check whether it's on our side or yours - and find a fix for it. Greetings, Crysantos

0.8.4 [Updated 24/4] April’s Twitch Drops Just Got Better
Crysantos replied to The_EURL_Guy's topic in News & Announcements
Hi guys, First of all from a technical point of view there is no difference between server, location of viewer or streamer. Twitch Drops work globally the same way, all players are affected the same way. Yes there is a certain limit to the amount of space drops that you can receive and it seems that a lot of the drops were issued quite early and quickly instead of being spread out over a longer time. Twitch Drops are still a feature we're testing with different aspects (e.g. the epic chance with a SC). We're happy to offer you with those Twitch Drops but we also have to keep an eye on the impact on the game economy. Also please don't consider a SC a regular drop, it's an epic thing and you know that many players are opening hundreds of regular containers to get the chance for one of these We'll take the experience we gained with this campaign into consideration for the next one and hope that you enjoy getting some extra goodies for watching WoWs on Twitch, Greetings, Crysantos- 58 replies

I know you would like to get to know these dates and we do our very best to provide with as much as information as possible but we also want to manage expectations - sometimes dates may change internally and we want you to be able to rely on our officially stated dates for updates, sales, etc. Exactly, this is our policy and we stick to it Greetings, Crysantos

SoonTM - that's all I can say for now :) Greetings, Crysantos

Do we keep the space ships from april's fool's event missions?
Crysantos replied to EmilyKing's topic in General Discussion
The point is you get to use these ships in space modes without the need to research or fit them - you unlock more by playing the modes. It's also a nice way of getting a preview for ships you haven't unlocked yet on Tier X. The main reason is because you wouldn't be able to use them again - but if you like the aesthetics, you can get your hands on the skins for those ships. I hope you'll have some fun with them and maybe it'll help you to decide which Tier X you want to go for next :) Greetings, Crysantos -
Hi, I'm not aware of us having anything similar internally but I'll check - although I think there is only a very slim chance for that due to the complex nature of ship models. Greetings, Crysantos

Hi guys, Could you please send me a WGCheck if you had crashes with the PT client? Then we can look into it. Thanks!

Which forum members have you seen in random battles?
Crysantos replied to Cobra6's topic in General Discussion
Always a pleasure, mate! Unfortunately our DD wasn't very responsive to spotting and applying some pressure on the 1 line to you, but it was a good fight! Greetings, Crysantos -
Hello dear forumites, We saw some confusion around the current PT session, so here some info for clarification: You'll start with the second account level, which means that most of the features will not be available (signals, camos, etc)! We need to test the change to this system and thus want you to play a few regular battles to progress. The amount of battles displayed for the progression to the next level isn't correct - the actual amount of battles is much lower, so you'll only need a handful of battles to progress. In order to unlock space battles as game mode, you need to play 4 battles in total. The different space battle modes are available on different dates, please make sure to check when certain modes are live :) PTS Info: https://worldofwarships.eu/en/news/public-test/public-test-082/ Dev Diaries: https://worldofwarships.eu/en/news/public-test/bulletin-082/ We'd love to see your feedback on these new modes and features - please provide it in our Public Test feedback section! Your World of Warships Team

Have you seen G.I. Joe :D ? I mean for obvious gameplay reasons having small icebergs floating around might be an issue. Thanks for your feedback. We're working on new modes, too. It's not like all of this is done by the same developer - we have a lot of devs, working on various features and fixes. Some players won't care about, some will enjoy it. We'll test it and see how it works out :) I still remember old "Islands of Ice" - glad that this hasn't been an issue for ages, this feature shouldn't impact that Greetings, Crysantos

Come on, where are we trying to hide this? We highlighted it here: https://worldofwarships.eu/en/news/public-test/bulletin-082/ (published on the 06/03/19) and that article is additionally linked to from the Public test publications that get bumped and updated on every day prior to PTS launch. I'm very open to suggestions how you would like us to improve the communication here - we do our very best to inform you on pretty much all popular channels - FB, Reddit, Forums, Portal, etc. about upcoming changes. We also give you the chance to test it in advance - this was implemented on all PT sessions for PTS 0.8.2. I'm happy to see more feedback about this and I will pass it along but please don't claim we're not informing you about upcoming changes - it's right there on the portal (also available in-game in the news tab) and in the PT client. Make your voice heard, read up about upcoming changes and let us know here - we will do our part and pass it along to our developers. Not sure what we can do at this point in development stage with 0.8.2 close to release but I will check. Greetings, Crysantos

WG, WoT, WoWS and making them sucessful as "E-Sports"
Crysantos replied to Nazgarth's topic in General Discussion
That reddit post made me chuckle, too :) I wish we could get a full fledged spectator mode - but up until that point we'll have to do with small improvements. Greetings, Crysantos -
WG, WoT, WoWS and making them sucessful as "E-Sports"
Crysantos replied to Nazgarth's topic in General Discussion
Hi there, Thanks for the feedback. We're very sorry for the connection issues, this is just as frustrating for us as it was for you. I think there are some misconceptions about KotS and the motivation behind it from @Nazgarth's side, so let me clarify a few points. WoWs and eSports: We never pushed World of Warships to be an eSports-title, the competitive scene is community-driven and always has been. Let's take King of the Sea as example - this project has been supported from the community team's side, namely by MrConway. This is also the reason why you can't compare it to WoT - WoT introduced officially supported eSports with ESL, a full league, etc. - WoWs is supporting community-driven events. Two very different approaches. Wargaming's involvement and motivation: This is a community event - we love it. We do our best to support it and help the organizers to make it bigger / better. Our involvement is helping with promotion, prizepool, art assets and later on with a broadcast provided by us. The scope of support grew over time and the effect of that should be quite visible. Quality: We're always trying to increase the overall production quality and I think the KotS tournament looks quite impressive at this point, except for the connection hick-ups we had (that had some impact on the quality of the rest). I can't really recall any major issues with the KotS VII broadcast at all that we hosted from our Prague office. Please keep in mind that we don't have an eSports casting studio, we're working within the limitations of what we have available. Format: I'm very happy to read some comments regarding how to improve the format and flow of the broadcast. But please keep in mind that there are a bazillion things happening in the background and that the participating teams need time to prepare, rest, ready up, etc. - this is why we have some minutes of additional analysis in between, so that the tournament can run smoothly and doesn't burn out organizers and participating teams. Same thing is true for the map introduction - it covers nicely the 1 min battle counter before the action starts, but we can look into improvements on that front. Audience: The vast majority of people watching KotS are interested in the competitive aspect of it and aren't turned off by it. If we wanted to use competitive gameplay to mainly attract new players, the setup and tournament design would have to be significantly different. As I said before, our main motivation here is to provide support to this community activity and we enjoy doing it - all the people you see involved here are passionate about competitive gameplay - MrConway, Dreameater, Mimimissile, me and many others in the background. From my side big shout out to everybody involved in making this tournament happen - all organizers, adjudicators, mod makers, participating teams, streamers and so forth. We all do this with passion and even though things aren't perfect, we're striving to make it better with each iteration. Greetings, Crysantos -
This is a misconception - both of your opinions were heard the same way. Maaseru asked a direct question to us and added a few additional points about this change not being very visible to his fellow players. In general we try to comment on as many things as possible but our time is limited, especially during busy times like the last weeks. So please don't take it personally if your comment wasn't commented by us - we do take the time to read every single comment in the feedback sections but we can't comment every post unfortunately. I'll see what we can do to improve visibility in general. Greetings, Crysantos
-
Why would do the surveys if nobody would read them? It's hard to give visibility to that and even though many players apparently don't care too much about playing / reading the PTS, we do here. And you see that we check these responses here - usually we compile it and send it off, if we see posts that require clarification or feedback from our side we try to do exactly that. We read your comment before (as you can see many of us browse the forums even on their time off, like me right now) - but it is a single comment that raised this concern so far. It's not the fact that I was surprised about his feedback, more about the part that he has a very strong opinion about this as a no-go option for him as CV player. And yes - even if this feedback was only brought up by two players here, we did pass it along the devs. If you have ideas how to improve visibility and increase the amount of feedback provided by you and other players, please share it. I'm sure you can imagine how frustrating it can be for us to see how few people comment on upcoming features early on, despite the portal publications, PTS sessions, dedicated feedback topics, etc. - we would love to get more responses here. I understand where you're coming from - but changes have to work for everybody, from casual players to experienced ones. We highly value the detailed feedback provided here and we'll see what we can do. But every player who provides feedback has a right to be heard and his opinion taken seriously, it's then up to our development team to decide which way to go or how to adapt the feature to find the best possible solution / compromise. This is why we always highlight to please provide feedback where possible, even if your feedback might not lead to the change you want to see, it will give the developers additional context and insights of what issues you are facing. Greetings, Crysantos

@Maaseru: Hi, sorry MrConway and me worked the last seven days in a row with KotS and are currently out of office (btw. great work in your Midway, very impressive). When it comes to the change - I'll pass along your feedback and see what we can do, overall we didn't receive any major negative feedback so far, all active participants usually get a survey link in-game after testing to share their experience with us. For the section here - it's tricky. We link directly from the PTS portal articles to this section, so it shouldn't be hard to find - we also have the same setup for regular update feedback. We're happy to look into how we can improve visibility but we also want to make sure that people are actually testing this features on PT when leaving feedback (at least for most of the things introduced there, where it's hard to have a well informed opinion without trying the changes first hand). Thanks for the detailed feedback! Greetings, Crysantos

You get additional charges for kills or lost allies :) See the Dev Diaries: "After destroying an enemy ship, one charge of the Repair Party consumable is given to the player that caused the damage, as well as to each member of the team that lost their ally." The suggestions like rocks moving - would be a cool addition, maybe next year? Greetings, Crysantos

[UPD 19/3] Weekend Event: Get Extra Naval Battle Rewards!
Crysantos replied to The_EURL_Guy's topic in News & Announcements
You only have to sell your soul and start working for us Steel isn't a common resource - you can earn it in competitive modes or special events like our last year's Santa activities. There should be a lot of rather relaxed clans out there with very low requirements except for some activity. But since everybody plays the game, activity shouldn't be a big obstacle if you want to get these benefits Right now we see clan activities on Tier X but who knows about the future? Thanks for the feedback! Greetings, Crysantos -
As far as I know, it's not planned to extend the period - but we will check internally and let you know if anything changes regarding that or if there's an additional period planned. Greetings, Crysantos

Three new maps for tier VIII-X battles have been added to the game. They don't have names or a certain visual style yet, but you can already take a look at the location of the control points and Islands. The first map is a group of medium-sized Islands located at a fairly large distance from each other. There are a lot of open spaces on the map and there are almost no Islands for cover in or near the caps. In the eastern part of the second map, one control point is covered from the others by a chain of Islands, however these allows ships to move freely. Small groups of Islands on the 9-10 lines will help ships to provide flank cap control. A few small islands are located in the center. Their height allows players to fire over them. You will find several large Islands in the western part of the map. They will help to hide the ships entering and leaving the nearby control point. The third map is a large chain of Islands of different sizes, located close to each other. Islands form a large bay around the control point in the eastern part of the map. Many Islands in the western and central parts of the map will allow you to secretly move and organize ambushes. Maps are expected to go through several stages of testing and as a result, they can change significantly. Please note that the information in the Development Blog is preliminary.

[19/3] Holt euch zusätzliche Belohnungen für Geplänkel!
Crysantos replied to The_EURL_Guy's topic in News und Ankündigungen
[UPD 19/3] Weekend Event: Get Extra Naval Battle Rewards!
Crysantos replied to The_EURL_Guy's topic in News & Announcements
To be honest, there is no down-side for being in a clan - if you take a look at Naval Battles you can participate on an individual basis easily - and you will get boni / discounts when your clan invests oil in the Naval Base. We're always trying to offer a wide variety of content to all players. Most events are doable for all players - even when not being part of a clan. Sometimes we also want to offer some special event for clan players, which is the exception, not the rule. In a game with a variety of modes, there might always be an activity that has some extra incentives to play them. I'm sure you can find a clan that is very relaxed, doesn't force you to participate in clan activities and you're able to benefit from the clan's naval base & activities. Greetings, Crysantos
