Too many Hypotheticals in the German cruiser line
Crysantos replied to Getzamatic's topic in Cruisers
I think the reason for the lack of the "Deutschland" etc. is the intention of WG to release a battlecruiser line for the KM. So keep that in mind ;) -
Is there something like the "best" T10 cruiser right now?
Crysantos replied to _FTD_'s topic in Cruisers
Clearly the Zao. The Des Moines is a better Cleveland, if you like her gameplay and shell trajectory, go for it. Just one thing, the grind towards the Des Moines isn't as bad as people make it. Pensacola is very poorly armored, yep. But besides that the NO is a fine ship, just use it like a miniature BB and make use of its maneuvrability. The Baltimore could use a buff, but until now I get the same damage and winrate out of both (NO and Balti) - you just need to be a bit more careful. -
What you need to know is that the XP don't scale linearly, but for each additional ship killed / damage dealt you get less and less experience. So doing twice the damage and twice the kills won't give you twice the XP. This makes it easier for worse players to grind with mediocre games, outstanding games don't give you that huge boost but enough to make it count. At least the credits are nice ;)

Carriers are OP, Battleships are OP, Cruisers are OP, Destroyers are OP
Crysantos replied to Ectar_'s topic in General Discussion
I've always been one of the guys to criticize WG for the CV balance, but I wanted them to be balanced - not nerfed into oblivion. The highest Tier CVs might have "too many" planes in reserve, but no planes in reserve would render them absolutely useless and nobody would play them anymore. Imagine your guns shutting down one after another every time you fire them - wouldn't be much fun either, right? -
TX can be fun, but I don't like the usual max-range meta right now. I like what WG has en route for us with the next patches, I think Des Moines needs a buff after that severe nerf, Gearing needs a buff but not sure how to do this without breaking it and the Montana could use a better armor profile, considering what it's supposed to withstand and the reality ingame that it's even possible to citadel it with a derpitz. Yamato and Zao are fine and the most popular ships for a reason, can't say much about the Hindenburg and Khabarovsk until I've seen them in battle.

Statistics galore - State of WoWS (update #3 - premium ships)
Crysantos replied to Crysantos's topic in General Discussion
Would you care to explain why this topic has been moved? It's clearly nothing offtopic (it's discussing ships, stats, player base and it's one of the few threads that didn't end up in "this is OP" and personal attacks) especially when you look at all the other topics in the general discussion section. A bit sad to see this handled that way... -

Crysantos replied to Thorhardt's topic in Allgemeine Diskussionen
Well, I'll update this post: Tier I - Hermelin: fun ship, lacks range but shouldn't be an issue on that Tier Tier II - Dresden: fun ship, I like it Tier III - Kolberg: erhm what? That ship is like a Dresden 1.1 - every Tenryu / St. Louis is going to wreck you, the high RoF can't make up for the extemely small calibre of the gun, the damage is horrible. Tier IV - not a fan, bad armor and bad damage&range Tier V - had the opportunity to test it last week. Decent range / rof, damage per shell is really low and I think that got quite an issue when it came to fighting higher Tiers - on its Tier V it's a decent ship Tier VI - not there yet Tier VII - not there yet Tier VIII - not there yet Tier IX - not there yet Tier X - not there yet conclusion for now: No fun for me, won't play them. The damage and armor are just too low for my personal taste and the lower Tier ships are hurting a lot against higher Tiers.

I'll leave this as a placeholder - but I just wanted to say that my Murmansk is pretty sad to be left out of this

No, this Crysantos is not working for WG, nor am I a Supertester. My sources are always linked in the opening posts of the threads and I always try to put them in context.

Statistics galore - State of WoWS (update #3 - premium ships)
Crysantos replied to Crysantos's topic in General Discussion
But I think when it comes to the actual player base, these things even out - I think it's pretty much the same rate for most ships with enough players (except for TIX + TX) so that the XP are "good enough" to use them for this. But in general I agree, I'd love to go back to the old pure "base XP" calculation, which was the most accurate one - not messing around with daily wins / premium account / flags etc. -

Check the first stat linked, there you go with "average amount of battles" - although it doesn't take into account the matches people had in inferior/stock hulls and how many games they had in total. -
Statistics galore - State of WoWS (update #3 - premium ships)
Crysantos replied to Crysantos's topic in General Discussion
Not sure, depends a bit on the player base, rare ships are not a good basis for analysis like this, the individual player has too much influence here. I wanted to exclude the Arkansas and Iwaki because they're reward ships, not premium ships you could buy. But in general let me put it this way ... mayhaps. I won't do an update in the next weeks besides major things change, but even then you need to give players some time to adapt and statistics to catch up ;) Thus the next stats galore will be a regular one again I think, only time will tell -

Entwicklertagebuch - Premium Schiffe
Crysantos replied to SkipperCH's topic in Allgemeine Diskussionen
Statistics galore - State of WoWS (update #3 - premium ships)
Crysantos replied to Crysantos's topic in General Discussion
So a player with no skill is bad with it, decent players get decent results with it - so it doesn't scale with skill? Erhm what? Of course it does, it's the high Tier environment that's less forgiving like at Tier III for Aurora or Tier V for the Murmansk - but it's still true that the Atago and Tirpitz can achieve decent results, unlike a Sims or Atlanta that are just unable to compete with their counterparts. If you take a look at the average players, you might think that all four of these ships suck but when taking a look at better players you can see their true potential. @hehehedog and EsaTuunanen: Yes, the Gremyashchy is an awesome ship and I'm still sad I bought the Yubari, not the Gremlin. It's a very decent DD and has more options due to her guns than the Minekaze - but the Minekaze's torps allow her to outperform her when it comes to raw damage and apply the same "dominance" on a battle. If it ever comes back on sale, I'll buy it. It's basically the Murmansk as DD To be honest, I didn't expect the Murmansk to be as strong in these stats as it is - at least the Omaha should be able to compete. We need to take a few things into consideration here, like the average battle better players do in this ship (and train it to perfection), the dominance of Cleveland as "moneymaker" for many players, not the Omaha, etc. Omaha is able to get close when it comes to the top10 players, but the average player discrepancy is quite astonishing but maybe the quick grind and 3 hull designs are to blame. It's a teamplay, you can have your best game all week and still lose. I'd focus a bit more on communication and teamwork, sometimes you need to do the ugly stuff and defend or cap in order to secure the win and trade off damage. But hey, I got 90% win days and 30% win days, depending on the fellow "captains" that sometimes drive you crazy. -

Statistics galore - State of WoWS (update #3 - premium ships) Hier mal die Daten zu den Premiumschiffchen -
Haha what? That's like saying any cruiser pops when it sees a BB. There's a difference between being ABLE to one-shot a ship (under certain circumstances + skill + RNG) and actual gameplay.

Entwicklertagebuch - Premium Schiffe
Crysantos replied to SkipperCH's topic in Allgemeine Diskussionen
