    Oh that wasn't really my point, I'm not even saying BBs can't do ... things... because we all get deleted by some random salvos. I'm referring to the issue that you shoot your salvo and there are 3 scenarios: 1. perfect aim, dispersion troll enters the room, you kill a lot of fishies and plonk plonk. 2. perfect aim, close range and you deal minimum damage ...3. perfect aim, RNGesus thanks you for sacrificing a goat to him earlier and you delete that cruiser. The issue is - you do have something in between 0 dmg and full HP gone as your possible outcome. It's either minimum or maximum damage - close range brawls get discouraged because you just don't get to detonate the AP shells in a lot of cases, so going for range + plunging fire actually gets rewarded. It's not like the dispersion on 4km is much better than on 20km - I could do a few fun gifs of how you can completely miss a BB sitting in front of you on close range, broadsided and you get deal no damage to it. I totally agree when it comes to situational awareness, tactical and mechanical improvements for players that are not that experienced, they get to learn a lot and can improve a lot in a short period of time. For me it's just that the BB in general is so unreliable that skill doesn't really matter that much when it comes to aim and to put your ship on the line to tank and get closer doesn't really get that much rewarded. If you take a look at how 80-90% of BB players are playing right now it makes me sad that they actually do get rewarded for sitting in the back, sacrificing their teammates and are still able to deal signifcant damage. It's an issue of gameplay for me. 100% correct and what I meant. <3

    Well with the various changes to AP mechanics and the way BBs work right now I've basically stopped playing BBs and I know a lot of other longtime players did, too. The issue isn't "relative inaccuracy" - it's being completely unreliable when it comes to dealing damage. You either get minimum or maximum damage, relying on RNG more than anything else. Long range sniping is rewarded more due to the random plunging citadels you get than going close up and brawl, just to see your complete salvo miss at 4-8 kms. Just my personal take on this, I completely understand why there has to be a certain dispersion and inaccuracy on BBs - but it's completely bonkers that you can deal more reliable AP damage with cruisers than with a BB.
  3. Meh, our secret has been discovered! In my personal opinion stats are only an indicator and you need to see them in context and perspective - this game is dynamic and everchanging, so stats only mean so much. Damage will never account for what the player shot at, obviously killing 3 DDs won't give you as much damage as killing 1 BB, but it'll reflect on the XP. Taking care of defending your base while the rest of your team is chasing a lonely, running BB won't give you amazing dmg, but it'll reflect on your WR. Ships change over time, game mechanics evolve, the meta is fluid - so be careful about judging. On the other side, a player with decent stats overall is probably going to be a decent player - although it won't tell you whether he's a good teamplayer. A good player for me isn't really about stats, it's about the way he plays. The combination of a good situational awareness, knowing when to push or retreat, when to attack or defend - to pull his own weight and to hunt for the win. Not whoring damage, not farming kills but to do your best to ensure victory. I know this might differ from other players take on this, but it's just my point of view. I'd much rather have a player with me that is going to go out of his comfortzone to help me and the team, to turn away from potential damage to defend the base, to make sure he's doing his best before bitching at the team afterwards than an egoplayer with XY avg. damage, caring more about his stats than helping the team. In general most players should start looking for mistakes in their own gameplay before they blame others, they should try to observe why other players achieve better results and pull on the same string. There is no X WR or Y avg. damage = good player, although I know a lot of people think that way. My 2 cents on that

    Well, I guess this thread will suffer the same fate like your first one - getting shut down by mods. A word of warning to any player of MMOs - the game is dynamic and changes. If things are broken or hurt the current game balance then the developers are going to (and should!) take measures to balance it. If you were one of these players that just dropped their torpedoes from 15+ kms to get random torpedo hits then you were part of the problem, your posts clearly indicate that you're oblivious of the ramifications of that kind of gameplay. WG was actually nice not to remove the long lance torpedoes in general but instead tried to increase the motivation to go into the dangerzone to get better rewards. I see no constructive approach here, just tears. In general I'd advice to check out the new option you got with the Shima and see the rebalanced risk/reward ratio here. The 8km torps are amazing, I'm having a lot of fun with my Kagero and that's just 8 instead of 15 of these crazy torpedoes. It's a dynamic online game - adapt and keep working on your skills, crying won't solve the problem at hand.

    This would end in a discussion I don't want to start here and these discussions have been conducted quite a few times anyway. I see you're not playing TX, so I don't expect you to know what TX usually looks like these days. I still consider the option to torp on 20km broken, the same thing applies to other long range mechanics like BBs at 20km+. But for me this "nerf" to the long range torpedos isn't a real nerf, the guys who sailed into the long ranges ones are still going to sail into those but it helps that good players are less likely to eat a random torp anymore. The fast torpedoes are a real addition to the Shima, 15x Zao torps are crazy - that's why I consider it a tweak, because it adds a very aggressive option to the Kagero and Shima while tuning down the lure to sit at the back and torp at max range. My 2 cents on this

    Destroyed, how come? The Shima was broken and the main reason for most people to stop playing TX - it's not about skill launching long range torpedoes at these "people who are mentally challenged". I've tested the new torpedoes on the Kagero and they are amazing, can't imagine what it's going to be like to unleash 15 torpeeedlings like that on anything. It's a tweak, not a nerf. These so called mentally challenged people you always have... you shouldn't feel any problems hitting them with the same 20km torps, right? Good players are going to switch over to the closer range torpedoes and they're going to be as devastating as before, if not even stronger.

    They add a new option and you demand that because of this new option you deserve a commander reset? Either buy the 500 dubloons for 2 bucks to respec or just use the other torpedoes - it was obvious for months now that Shimas are being rebalanced. Sorry but I always wonder why people feel entitled to get sth for free like this, although I do understand the frustration with changes that affect you in this way.

    Don't let them drag you down - but you should also be mature enough to see that if you post something like "how to get amazing Karma XY" that there'll be a backlash from other players, too. Just shrug it off, focus on the issue of teamplay. I do appreciate the work you put in here to spread the teamplay, I know how hard it is to reach people and how frustrating it can be sometimes.

I agree with you, constructive criticism is always welcome and I can understand the frustration with the presentation - because I know a lot of people actually want this to succeed and the game to grow (the same thing applies to us, as you can imagine). I'm pretty sure K3tt3ng3sicht is referring to the more toxic comments that include personal attacks or a disguise for a more general approach to vent off their general unhappiness with the game and its development. If you watched either of our streams or videos you'll see we're talking openly about the issues but we also try to give you some kind of context to see why certain aspects presented themselves the way they were. On the bright side I'm happy to see that most of the issues with the experiment were more of a presentation thing, not the mode itself.
