The whole game is a tool, ranked just a different mode and still the only one with substantial rewards to any other mode (TB, Random, Coop). I never said lie down in amazement before WG, I just said that it's a very good development especially considering the player feedback and I highly appreciate real rewards like dubloons you can use for retraining captains, buying premium ships, etc. FOR FREE (dubloons quite a few of us would've probably bought, so they do miss out on money). Of course it's a company that wants to make money, nobody ever denied that - and they want to create content. So they add in enough reward for most people to play the new mode and help the mode with a substantial playerbase actually attending that event. Rewards should be exactly this - rewarding you, not free giveaways. The reward distribution over ranks could be debated (and help average players feel good about reaching lower ranks) but the good thing here is you know what you'll get so you can decide whether it's worth it for you to grind it or not - unlike in other games like Hearthstone, where you get randomly assigned rewards. There might be better ways to improve ranked, but I disagree with your approach to this - which isn't a bad thing, everybody is entitled to having their own opinion and it's totally up to everyone to play / ignore this mode if they don't like it. Nobody forces you to participate but I'm very astonished to see that kind of feedback here after one of the best quality of life patches ever deployed on this server and the big buff to rewards and feedback based tweaks to the ranked system. So enjoy the game, if you hate ranked just don't play it - but give it a try and THEN give feedback. Trashtalking it before it started, I dunno. I did quit ranked seasons every time because of the incredible amount of frustration due to the lack of gameplay and salt it added to the seas. But I'm happy they listened to the feedback and they'll keep working on it - I've always been a fan of step by step solutions instead of the usual buff / nerf hammer deployed by WG - I'd rather see them work season by season improving things to tune it to perfection instead of throwing over everything.

But that's not WG's fault, it's the players fault. WG did two decent changes that might help with that - first of all that you won't lose a star if you got the first spot on the losing team, lowering the frustration quite a bit. Secondly, you won't get an additional star for reaching a new rank after reaching rank 10. This will make it more difficult for bad players to get "dragged" along. But once again, this is nothing WG could do much about because it's up to the players to actually play like a team and go for the strategic objectives. This system isn't perfect of course, still offers room for a lot of improvements (which can be done step by step) and you should know my opinion about ranked, Blogis - but I feel these changes are going to make it way more enjoyable and rewarding. I hope team battles helped a lot of people to realize that they can only win as a team. I don't care about the stats of a player if he's trying his best to win the battle with us within his limitations

Okay, so let me sum it up - for reaching rank 1 you get: - 3.500 dubloons - around 2.200 signal flags - 7m credits - 24h premium time - 100x Camo Type 3 - 110x Camo Type 5 - in case of 2x consecutive rank 1 seasons a premium ship clone of the Atlanta - worth another what, 9k dubloons? And you say it's not enough reward for a game that you'd play anyway with no additional reward to the usual achievements. But there's no point in discussing with you - you chose to be butthurt, so you'll stay butthurt no matter what WG will ever do. Since you're so displeased with the rewards and how WG is acting I'll happily keep an eye on your accounts to see how your ingame actions are going to fit your words in here. I hope you skip this season, nobody would want you to suffer these incredibly evil rewards WG chose to give us.

They did listen to most of the feedback and just because you feel like the top 3 should be entitled to not lose a star that doesn't mean the rest of us agrees with that. Are you HONESTLY complaining about WG actually being nice and generous, giving out a reward for the people that did grind for rank 1 despite the lack of new rewards?! It's not like it's ONLY retroactively rewarded, current and future season winners will get it, too. Instead of being happy about this development and actually encouraging WG to keep working this way compared to the past you guys keep bitching and complaining - you're just as greedy and ignorant as you claim WG to be.

I just wanted to state here how happy I am about the changes, the rewards and the way WG listened to player feedback here. Well done and please keep it up this way, I wasn't the biggest fan of that mode for the obvious reasons, but I'm really looking forward to this season!

To be quite frank - this thread is like its title - useless and should be removed asap. Secondly, the drama in here is pretty unneccessary and out of place as well. Clan members of no matter what organization are always going to have higher expectations of their teammates and compete with other clans, thus there's always going to be some kind of competitive thinking and emotionally loaded opinions. Buuut in general I think that all of you should also think a bit about how you represent the clan you're in (in particular the guy who posted this in the first place) and tune it down a bit. I know many of you and I like you, so stop being douchebags to each other ;)

That is what I've heard from my audience from NA and other NA streams. I'd be more than happy to be proven wrong and don't get me wrong, I like these changes. I just don't think this will have the impact many people expect it to have, that's all ;)

I like it but I fear it's going to have the same effect as on NA - next to none. People use repair bills as an excuse not to commit but it's actually the attitude of sitting in the back and sniping while others have to do the hard work. The only way to make TX enjoyable and less campy is to reduce max ranges of all ships to force them to fight. Why should a BB get close when he has a higher chance of a citadel on long range than on close range, etc. etc. I like it but I never felt like the repair bill was the actual issue for players. They might play more TX now because it's affordable but I doubt they'll play it any differently - you see the same strategic mistakes done in lower Tiers, the only thing holding them back at it is their limited range.

Hey guys! Unfortunately I don't have too much time this weekend to do a very interactive challenge - this is postponed to next sunday For this week I have something more trolling in mind. You know how RNG trolls you these days when you're playing BBs? Denying you that kill you need, that BB / CA to be gone to win the battle? Well, RNGesus might let you down, I won't. I'll give 3x 200 Diamonds for the best 3 entries of my choice (amount of laughter is probably the deciding factor) and 4x 100 Diamonds randomly given away to the other entries. So what do you need to do? Create a GIF of the worst RNG trolls you had with BBs. Length shouldn't be longer than 10s, multiple entries allowed, I recommend enabling replays (http://forum.worldofwarships.com/index.php?/topic/19170-enabling-wows-replays/). Then you can use something basic like the Windows Movie Maker to cut the scene and upload it to sites like http://giphy.com/. Upload it, post it in this thread and do it before Tuesday, 20:00 CEST. TLDR: - post your GIF in this thread - length shouldn't be longer than 10s - contest runs until Tuesday, 20:00 CEST - 3x 200 Diamonds for the best entries - 4x 100 Diamonds randomly distributed amongst all other entries

Hey dear captains and torpeeedlings, Most of you should know by now about the current Grand Naval Battles (GNB) event that's going on. I'm honoured to be able to host a few events to help you with your hunt for diamonds! Each week I'll do a different event on my stream, I'll try to keep the events related to the actual battles that took place - buuuuut the first week's battle of the Coral Sea won't be really viable for that though. Instead we're going to do this....BATTLE ROYALE! On Sunday's stream (May 8th) - 11:00 - 17:00 GMT. basic idea behind this: - done in training room, setup by myself - everybody has to pick any Tier II DD (easily accessible, cheap and fun, no restrictions on captains) - torps only, no guns - ram allowed - at first the teams are going to fight against each other - once either one team gets eliminated or a certain time expires (time still TBA) it switches to free for all - 10 vs. 10 (1 inactive bot on each team to keep the battle alive) - last man standing gets 200x Diamonds - the player with most damage dealt (need screenshots! and not the winner of the battle royal!) gets 100x Diamonds - 3x battles - same person can't win twice, so if you win once you're not eligible to play twice - I'll award 100x Diamonds for the most entertaining moment of that battle Let me know what you think, make sure you have your training room enabled (part of Aslain's modpack - check out his website http://aslain.com/)and have your Tier II DD ready. This is highly dependent on you keeping your part of the gentlemen's agreement, so please be fair and nice!
