Sehr gute Youtuber / Streamer im CV & DD gesucht
Crysantos replied to Comp4ny's topic in Videos, Streams & Blogs
Crysantos replied to Comp4ny's topic in Videos, Streams & Blogs

Deep Sea Tournament - how do TX teambattles actually work out?
Crysantos posted a topic in General Discussion
Hey guys, For those who didn't notice - we had the first cross-server tournament (EU vs. Asia) in a showcase environment this week. It was a regular teambattle mode, that means 7 vs. 7 with the usual 20 minutes time limit, same regulations when it comes to ship choice (1 CV, 2 BBs per side) - the only additional limit that was enforced was a cap to one Gearing (probably due to the incredibly strong smoke). This event got over 17.000 viewers on the Chinese streaming platform PandaTV on both days! This tournament took place on a special Chinese test client (it was hosted and sponsored by the Chinese side), our EU teams and broadcasters had to connect via VPN, giving them a slight disadvantage and in contrast to the usual Tier VIII meta of the EU servers when it comes to competitive gaming, this mode was actually in TierX ships. Right now WoWS doesn't really have a spectator mode available for games - so what we did was using the freecam mode after suiciding our ships with our Chinese broadcasting counterparts within the first 2 minutes when the teams deployed. Interesting additional info - the KKtm vs. Maiden Tea Party game was on game version 0.5,6 but the Tora Tora Tora vs. F3 game 2 days later was done on 0.5.7 - due to the Chinese WG team dropping the newest patch on the test server. So check out how the new spectator mode looks like. I'll shamelessly plug my broadcast here for the battles themselves so you can take a look at how these battles actually went down and to see for yourself how competitive gaming could look like on a tournament teambattle scale. If you're not interested in watching all of these, just watch the recommended ones. I feel like they were really well played and executed. You can see the entire broadcast on my Twitch channel if you're interested. KKtm vs. Maiden Tea Party: battle #1: (recommended to watch, pay attention to what the Chinese Hindenburg and Des Moines are doing)battle #2: battle #3: Tora Tora Tora vs. F3: battle #1: battle #2: (recommended to watch)battle #3: battle #4: (recommended to watch)battle #5: So why do I post these videos? Well, first of all - being one of the guys who went to Warszaw to participate in the exhibition match during the WGL finals to showcase WoWS I felt like that was a little bit...unfortunate when it came to displaying the actual gameplay. People weren't really able to follow what happens, the focus was on fast paced action instead of the real strong side of WoWS - the strategic approach on a greater scale. Now this opportunity arose and I really wanted to see how it works out. TX is always a very "meh" Tier for me, due to huge balancing issues within this class - and most TX battles usually ending in very boring drawn out camping battles. So my initial fear was that this meta could actually result in even campier approaches to TB as we're already seeing on our EU servers, but luckily that's not true - especially the TX cruisers open up a lot of strategic variety. This tournament - at least for me - actually showed us that the teams with a more dynamic and versatile setup actually won the games, always beating the more campy setup. Please let us know what you think about these battles and the possible competitive future for WoWS. I thoroughly enjoyed these matches and I hope that we get to see more of them - being able to do some other cross-server tournaments like against the NA server. What's your opinion?- 51 replies

-
Nope, wasn't referring to you. Yes, learning how to lead on specific ships is part of skill - comes with time and knowledge about your and the enemy ship. Otherwise everybody would be easily able to kill average players with a few salvos.
-
Thank you very much!
-
Well, we surely need to check out how much influence it has on the game but it's still an undesireable glitch to have. Let's just get rid of it, there's absolutely no reason to keep it around.
-
Sorry but I disagree. Skill is required on various levels - knowing how to shoot and to judge the enemy's speed is crucial, not something optional. If you take that away by a glitch like this, people can just snipe and don't need to improve to be able to judge speed, movement and so on. But hey you know what - the funny thing is... if what you say is true then there shouldn't be any issue removing this glitch. Good players still know how to aim and those who relied on this... well, everybody knows how to aim you say, so it won't make a difference. I'll be happy to see how certain people will suddenly drop in hit ratios and damage dealt ;)

Gehört entfernt, so schnell wie möglich. Habs mal an WG weitergeleitet.

Forwarded it to WG.

Congratulations, sir! Well deserved and since he already has a Blyska I'm throwing in an Arizona as reward for him! So the second spot for dubloons is still open guys, go for it!

Montana Vs Yamato: Nothing new, just a question.

Never knew you played either the Montana or the Yamato. -

Sorry but personal preference and average damage doesn't change the issues that Montanas have with Yamatos. -

He rammed the Yamato (you can see it in the background). -

Indeed and does it matter? Most people struggle to get even 100k avg damage out of a Montana, that's not even a Montana/Yamato that used its HP repair button once. That's why I don't give too much about these screenshots of the few battles when everything went right and the enemy did not so clever things ;) -

Well, the Montana is always going to struggle with current penetration mechanics and the 460mm guns of the Yamato, it's sometimes very frustrating but usually you should pick your engagement accordingly. The Montana is a fine BB and can deal with everything except for the Yamato. Screenshots like that of ChesterJ always make me chuckle - a decent Yamato is usually in a way superior position and if you manage to wear it down on your own it's going to cost you. We're not talking about noobs in TX here but decent captains who know what they're doing. I like my Montana, it's an amazing CA hunter and has enough punch to deal with any other BB. The only thing that I'd like to see buffed is the Montana armour layout, it always felt a bit weak for me compared to Yamato's layout - resulting in way lighter damage on the Yamato that you can repair (=more HP). I don't see any way you can properly balance a ship with 9x460mm guns vs. 12x 406mm guns (additionally the Yamato has the superior layout with 2/1 compared to the Montanas 2/2 turrets - Montana has to risk quite a bit to get the rear turrets into the action). -

ShipComrade's 1 Year Anniversary EU Giveaway
Crysantos replied to ShipComrade's topic in General Discussion
Sorry for forcing you to watch crappy streams to win free stuff. I guess you should skip this, then people who actually care about the community and appreciate the generousity of WG and shipcomrade have better chances of winning. @Shaka_D: Just tune in while doing the dishes, watching your favourite game with a very nice Twitch WoWS community. As a bonus you might win something, otherwise you'll have a fun evening watching us derp or rekk people - anyways having a fun time. @rest: Join us on Saturday for a chill and relaxed stream with some of the people who invest quite some time to provide you with interesting gameplay, infos and previews for WoWS. Let's have a good time and the chance to win a ship that you'll probably never ever be able to buy again. Get to know new people, connect some voices to ingame names and no, we won't force to you watch 8h to maybe win something. -
Irrevocable rank 12 not best solution. One more irrevocable rank REALLY needed.

I know that the brackets are designed like this, but apparently the MM is able to match different brackets if they lack the players. I can check for screenshots Edith says:
