Poll: Which ship are you most looking forward to?

But it's not fair I can't CV my way to t10 :( Btw sorry about the renown thing, I thought it was the repulse that had the big rebuild... I don't think support ships really work in this game.. I'm not sure if it's worth adding a fourth question, I am planning on having another thread to 'officially' crown the winning ship 'the forums most wanted', but apart from HMS royalist, I don't think any of them really have the star power of the illustrious, Rodney, shinano, renown etc. what do people think?

Poll: Which ship are you most looking forward to?

I’ll do another thread in a few days to pick the forums favourite potential ship, sadly it was all I could do with the tools available..

Poll: Which ship are you most looking forward to?

Looks nice, though I wait to build up a list of candidates before adding a fourth question....

Poll: Which ship are you most looking forward to?

There's a limit of 20 responses on each poll. btw there are now three questions to add the suggestions people have made.

Poll: Which ship are you most looking forward to?

Can I apologise for not including HMS Dido, I forgot about her >_< btw why is she so loved, she doesn't appear to have that great a service record? Also the reason they are split is because I thought people could add their own ships to the poll making it more inclusive, sadly it doesn't seem to be the case... The one surprise is that shinano is more popular than lusty (HMS Illustrious),a Also, I'm glad to see a certain amount of support for introducing t2 CVs Part of the reason I made this was to highlight the list of heavy hitting ships which haven't made it into the game yet. but I couldn't find a reference to a HMS wolf, could you provide a link?

    Destroyer versus rocket planes

With US t8 and below CVs you want to point your ship into or away from the planes to take minimal damage...
  9. Not true, you should see more early. You don't expect people to have reached the last chest, so there's a survivorship bias. ie. if it is random, and 50% of people reach chest 5, and 25% reach chest 10, you should show chest 10 as having half the drop rate of chest 5.

Suggestion for New T9 UK Supercruiser: HMS Incomparable (1937)

Just looked that book up, £15 on amazon... and I can imagine, I have read nemesis by max Hastings.. some of the details in that about American ship building... True about the dreadnought, all Fisher did was to make sure that the UK was a leader rather than a follower, the dreadnought was always going to happen even without fisher. The one thing he probably did was popularise submarines and battle cruisers
  11. Hi All, So I was reading a book on battlecruisers (Battlecruisers: A History by Richard Bassett), and it mentioned a certain HMS Incomparable, I think she sounds like a good idea. Unfortunately, in RL apparently she was intended to have 20"cm guns, and to be roughly the size of the Bismarck. But if we put in a fictional refit to comply with the Washington naval treaty ( which stipulated 15" maximum guns, but 18" could be more fun :P ), and throw in some additional AA, we have a very nice T9 super cruiser. She could go 35 knots, had almost no armour apart from 18" on the citadel, and was almost as big as the Vanguard. We'd have a pretty fun ship, for a gimmick, how about only giving her HE shells? Also her draft appeared to be quite low, so maybe give her immunity to deep running torpedoes? With acceptable armour, absurd speed, high HP, slow reload, we could get a unique play style while adding to the super cruiser roster. What do people think? She sounds completely insane, and I'm sure she'd be great fun!!! btw the wikipedia page for her is: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/HMS_Incomparable

Suggestion for New T9 UK Supercruiser: HMS Incomparable (1937)

I disagree, dreadnought was NOT the first dreadnought laid down, she was the first completed.i forget what the first laid down was, but the bigger ships race was always going to happen the theorists had predicted it a few years earlier. So long as the British public was so determined to retain naval supremacy and Germany was so keen to seize it, an arms race was only a matter of time. I’ll have a look at the book as well it sounds interesting. but we are getting off topic...

Suggestion for New T9 UK Supercruiser: HMS Incomparable (1937)

I mean it makes sense, the book I was reading stuck one paragraph about the incomparable right at the end of the chapter detailing how battlecruisers dealt with WWI and the opening line was not the way to make something sound interesting. "it is perhaps worth mentioning - but only just- that in 1912 Fisher had been contemplating the construction of Incomparable, a mammoth, diesel driven, shallow draft battlecruiser, 1,000 feet in length, lightly hulled, but with a central citadel protected by 16 inches of armour, she would have mounted six 20 inch gun in three turrets. A coffer-dammed, honeycombed double bottom was to be filled with cork. With a speed of 32 knots plus, Incomparable would be capable of steaming around the world without refuelling. She was intended to last only ten years because, Fisher reasoned, all warships would have become obsolete after that time." Battlecruisers: A History 1908-1948 by Ronald Basset Given that it spent quite a lot of that chapter talking about the furious and courageous, along with other schemes to take the fight to the Germans, the Incomparable (and the final sentence), reveal a lot more about Fisher than about British battlecruiser design. I still find it staggering that there were only ever 12 battlecruisers ever made for the Royal Navy, and this design and the author thought this idea only merited one paragraph.

pls help, i am almost broke!

I am also at 33mil, but that's because I went down to 4mil after I bought my midway, and panic bought the enterprise to keep making credits.... I'm a carrier main and T10 Carriers cost just under 40mil apiece to properly spec.

Thank you for this! That second picture was actually done by admiral Fisher himself? It looks more like an 8 year old's drawing. It seems I was unaware of the details of her armament It seems to justify a spot at t9 imho. If it was built, that ship would have been amazing. btw @lovelacebeer there was a red post a few months ago saying that they couldn't balance furious's 18" guns. It can be found here.

Suggestion for New T9 UK Supercruiser: HMS Incomparable (1937)

I can't see them putting a WWI era design as the pinnacle of warship design, somehow I can't see it.... I can see her as a tier 9 premium though. Btw for the tangent onto the French battleships, there were five of them, the 2nd to the 6th in this list: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_battleships_of_France#Jauréguiberry

Suggestion for New T9 UK Supercruiser: HMS Incomparable (1937)

But if we only had sensible ships, we wouldn't have a fun and interesting game... We need the weird ships as well as the serious, how else do you justify the Yamato, Nelson or the Atlanta?

Suggestion for New T9 UK Supercruiser: HMS Incomparable (1937)

But if you bear in mind that the Washington treaty banned guns over 15"s, you can get a fairly decent super cruiser, like an Alaska with bigger guns.

Suggestion for New T9 UK Supercruiser: HMS Incomparable (1937)

That could be an option, maybe keep the 20" as a HE only spam cannon and the 15" as the viable guns with decent AP? I don't know tbh, the aa should probably not be amazing as it was a WWI era design, but it shouldn't be terrible. That being said, I could do with some more AP bait for my enty.
  21. Does anyone know how hard the ultra hard mode is? I liked the camouflages from last year, and I'd like a few more (notably shokaku).

"There will be no more than 1 aircraft carrier per team" Really? There was another thread a few days ago saying their spotting would be curtailed though.

    CV Rework Discussion

Possibly a slight alteration, but did anyone notice that the next CB season will have CVs: https://www.reddit.com/r/WorldOfWarships/comments/dgh7l5/st_coop_matchmaking_14th_ranked_season_and_other/ Btw does anyone know which t10 will be best to use for CBs or just best generally? I'm not sure. btw, the main reason for CV's toleration in RB is that they act almost as a 'force of nature' which other players have to just accept as there's nothing they can do, they are similar to a 'surprise mechanic' as they rarely communicate with their team, but I think it'll break down in CBs.

What did you get from 'Premium T6 Ship' container?

Dunkerque... I had the JB, so probably the least interesting one.
