Gali is already a Budyonny worse in about every way possible, yet they dont dare to buff it to normal silver standards... This is the reason I dont want to play the french line, the complete [edited]stunted RoF on Emile and Le Gali... then to punch us in the face they release De Grasse to show that they actually know Le Gali is underpowered, but they keep it that way only to be able to sell for profit.... my god how they messed up again Its also for this reason I dont buy De Grasse even though tier 6 cruisers are just up my alley. Untill they make Le Gali at least somewhat comparable to Cleve or Budyonny I wont buy De Grasse despite me wanting it.

None of my divmates play much DD. My main mate plays BB/CV and my other long time divmate has been playing nothing but IJN BBs since forever. I'm not saying any ship type is more OP than another, just that BBs are maybe the one ship type that doesnt have a big impact on gameplay. DD overpopulation and smokes/torps will be everywhere. Cruiser overpopulation and radars and AA will be everywhere. CV... well CV will never be overpopulated. BBs on the other hand are damage soakers, and soaking damage doesnt completely put off gameplay (other than some passive play at higher tiers).

I'm one of those who dont mind the BB overpopulation at all. I do play a lot of BB, but when i play cruisers I love when the enemy team is filled with BB potatoes waiting to get turned into flaming wrecks.

Why HE buff on german cruiser is in my opinion a mistake
Affeks replied to Poster_2015's topic in Cruisers
WoWs is no rock paper scissors game and I hope it never will be. I love this change, it mainly helps the KM CAs deal with camping BBs without making them ridiculous against other cruisers or destroyers. It is a very simple change to help nerf the current bow on camping meta that pleagues the high tiers. If you wanted the game to return to a rock paper scissors game then much larger and more difficult changes would have to be made. With WGs track record of not being very good at balance changes I say this is a really good change that has no problem directly connected to them. -
British BB (mod. Lion class) at Tier X, WoWS ASIA seems to have an (unintentional) scoop of some sorts.

The 2% heal is ridiculous, never was it a good idea for ships with better armor layouts than RN CLs -
Didnt they also say 203mm would be the largest caliber for Cruisers as well? They broke that already with Yorck... then Moskva...... then Henri IV... yeah dont put your trust in WG integrity I mean there are a ton of examples of this with consumables and other stuff as well.

Izumo has terrible secondary turret arcs, they cant shoot forward at all. Yamato secondaries are better and Yamato is generally much better armored as well, on top of that Yamato can pretty much lolpen and kill anything in a bow to bow brawl if you know where to aim. You can play Yamato much more aggressively than Izumo, but the whole enemy team will likely focus you since Yamato is such a big threat so going aggresive at the start of the game is not smart. So if you know what you are doing and are skilled with positioning then a secondary build works just fine on Yamato, but if youre not so skilled then playing passive and just snipe from 12-18 km might be much smarter. People will flame you for playing passive, but its the smartest if youre not confident in your BB positioning. I use a secondary build, but I mostly like it for the fireworks. A full defensive/stealth build is much more competetive, but not as fun as a secondary build

Any tier 6 is easy to five star tho
-
Nope, not really. They'd only overpen 35mm, which means it cant even overpen the 38 mm deck and plating on Iowa and Montana. More than that it would not be able to even dent the 50mm plating on KM BBs or their 60mm bows. So thats why I said A150 would be weaker than Yamato. Still I really want this ship in the game at one point, tho it may be very far in the future.

HE is the counter to camping. This HE pen change only really increases the effectiveness against BBs without making the AP so ridiculous that you can wipe the floor with other cruisers. German cruisers are already pretty good against other cruisers, if they buff the AP even more then the balance will the thrown off. Unlike most IJN cruisers the high AP alpha and low HE alpha still makes AP very much a viable choice against any sort of broadside target, so in short the only real difference this brought is giving the germans a better way to defend against camping BBs. I mean you already spammed a shitton of HE with the german cruisers already, but it didnt stop people from using AP when the chance was good. IMO this is maybe the best change WG has brought in a very long time. It gives the line more tools, while still keeping a good balance. Theyre kinda like the USN now, both HE and AP are equally good. Unlike IJN where one ammo stomps the other, or RN where you dont even have a choice. I did a few games in my Prinz, and I must say I still use AP whenever I get the chance. You still cant beat IJN cruisers in a HE slugfest, but he shows a tiny bit of broadside you be sure I got AP loaded and ready. The only difference is that I can actually pressure camping BBs much more, I still use AP on BBs whenever I get close and on a broadside. If your concern is that the line will turn into a brainless HE spamming one, then I must say its quite the opposite. Along with US cruisers, this line may be the least brainless out of all the cruisers. Way more ammo choices then the brainless max range HE spamming Japanese, French and Russian lines and the smoke sitting point and click adventure that is the English Cruisers. Previously I stopped at N-berg over a year ago when grinding this line, but after a few games in Prinz I actually picked up my Nberg again to start working on the line again.

Well If Kidd gets Gearing torps I'd still take Benson because she actually has more than only 1 torpedo turret....
-
I wouldnt look too much at Tzoli images.... just no... But on the other hand the 6 gun A150 would fit very well into the game. It would be a Yamato with fewer but bigger guns, worse secondaries but better AA, and a few other minor changes. Balance wise it would be slightly weaker than Yamato I think, but far from underpowered.

As I said, if you play smart, but aggressive, then youll find yourself getting use out of the bursty raw damage. but yeah the Yamato 155mm being loaded with AP is a damn joke. Then again I believe that the pressure the secondaries pose means that you can threaten enemies without while keeping your main guns aimed at another target. That in my mind makes it worth it even on GK or Yamato.. Maybe even Monty, but I havent played her yet so I'm not gonna say anything -

I'll have to disagree here, the 128mms are far worse against BBs and setting fires, but the 105s cant pen DD hull or BB superstructure. So youll find yourself doing a lot more raw damage. Against DDs the raw damage is much more important than setting fires. Trust me i play with a trolly secondary build on Yamato, and the amount of times the shitty Japanese 127mms have completely obliterated DDs who think they can venture close is surprising. other than that I second the rest of the post. -
I'd say theyre about equal in that regard, but on the other hand Fuso has much better armor to defend against the HE spam from all the DDs and Cruisers so in the Fuso is clearly better in my opinion.

Oh okay, sorry for generalizing. Anyways I was by no means calling out you. Just the ones going "KM cruiser is AP not HE hurr durr" with no real argument. I'm backlogging some of your post, and while I see youre trying to make a point, youre missing a lot of important points mostly due to being stuck with the "HE is IJN flavor" statement.

32 games in, 72% WR and 105k avg damage. Secondaries often do 10-20k in my matches. I highly recommend it. -
Oh sorry I didnt read the whole thread. Ive seen a couple of these threads and it seems its all the same bs, but yeah its nice too see at least some agree. Its like the community complains when they release a tech tree with only one ammo, but cry when they try to make both ammo usable...

You havent played many online games if you think this community is toxic The fact that this bothered you so much that you went and posted on the forums about it that only really means that this community and its players are pretty soft.

I really like this change, I mean the KM national flavor was AP, not the AP ammo. So this only really makes their HE more APish. I mean if they just buff AP then it becomes more difficult to balance and it might just end up being RN cruisers 2.0.... not really any fun. So now both ammos are equally viable. Personally I hope they do this with KM DDs as well.

For me its a no brainer, secondaries any day. Helps pressure cruisers for breakfast, Burns down angled BBs for dinner and helps deal with DDs for supper. While Main Battery mod buff your bread and butter, the secondary mod helps fill the shortcomings of the ship. As I said it can deal a lot of damage to camping angled BBs by setting them on fire. DDs getting to close will either take considerable damage or they have to pop smoke or run away. Sometimes the secondaries can lob volleys of fire over islands, so they also help pressure cruisers hiding behind cover. Theres just a lot of utility to secondary build. So you can choose, slightly buff main armaments, or unlock a whole new game mechanic that lets you be a threatening factor in many new ways. Lastly it is way more fun. I mean with main battery mod the change is not even noticeable. Having a full secondary build on the other hand really lets you see some fireworks. Both in the sky and on the decks of enemy BBs ;) -
They really shouldnt give Kidd repair, instead they should give it the upgraded Fletcher torps or Gearing torps. Heal is just going to flop the balance
-
Idk havent played Hood, but from what I can see Scharnhorst is way more unique, has more gameplay mechanics (torps, viable secondaries) and is overall more enjoyable in the sense that it youre not too reliant on RNG compared to slower firing and less accurate guns. Personally Scharnhorst is one of the most fun BBs I've played

A premium at tier 10? Nah I wouldnt care at all. Today I met a GK with Survivability Expert.... so there are shittons of terrible players at high tier. A few more potatoes at tier 10 wouldnt make a difference at all. If they help fund the game (by throwing heaps of money at the screen for a tier 10 prem) then its only positive in my mind. Oh and for those worrying, tier 10 MM is bull anyways. Its littered by Bismarck players from Hunt campaign, Tirpitz wallet warriors and the normal potatoes anyway. Stop fooling yourself pls, mighty Mo didnt ruin anything (except being a powercreep, but I havent found Missouri players to be worse than the normal broadside on Iowa potato anyway). A tier 10 premium wouldnt ruin anything either. On the other hand though I hope Musashi becomes a tier 9 actually. Nerf AA, Health, armor (deck and slightly less belt), Sigma (down to at least 1.8, if not 1.7), secondaries etc etc and I think it could work just fine.
