Tier 8 silver cruisers are very balanced imo tier 8 premium cruisers (Atago and Kutuzov) are crazy overpowered Prinz Eugen, Hipper along with the rest of the silver cruisers are balanced. They get shafted by tier 10 MM all the time, but that doesnt mean they are underpowered.

True enough, but I still expect another stock kongo at tier 4. The fact that they removed the Stock hull is already proof enough, but too be honest WG would throw away a good opportunity as putting one of the Kongo names on a premium would already have people swarm to get it. Personally I'm not a fan of WW1 hulls so I wouldnt buy it.

Dude dont get me started... dammit too late I mean seriously though how the hell was WG able to make maybe the worst AA weapon of WW2 into the absolutr best AA weapon in WoWs.... this goes beyond me tbh...

Not really, sure with two buffs (you really should never waste skills/mod slot on) the buff goes from 50 dps to 75 dps. In truth though Yamato would still be far worse than GK in AA and in no way even close to Montana (or Conqueror). I dont think a 3% increase in chance to shoot down a plane would redeem Yamatos weakness of having terrible AA. Personally though I do find Yamato too strong, so I would take a sigma nerf for the extra AA guns any day. Its not like this buff would tip her over a slippery slope or anything, especially since CVs are super rare anyway

Reminder that Yamato are still missing the 25mm AA guns that are mounted on the main turrets. I know that during CBT and early launch they didnt put any AA guns on the main guns (due to technical issues?), but it didnt take long before Warspite got 20mms on her turrets and short after most BBs and some cruisers got them as well... for some reason though they have completely forgotten about Yamato though. This is not a matter of "BUFF YAMATO" but rather "GET THIS HISTORICALLY ACCURATE". As someone who have been to the Yamato museum, it is easy to get hung up on things like this especially when its such an easy thing to fix that doesnt really put the game balance in jeopardy either. I mean come on guys were talking 48,8 dps here guys. Also as far as I know its missing a pair for triple 25mms right aft of the 155mm turret and another pair between A and B turret... (PS I wouldnt mind the pair of twin 13mm guns either, 7 dps at 1.2 km wouldnt hurt anybody right? I mostly want these as its fun to see the extra layer of AA guns fire.... nothing more than that)

Musashi as sunk had half the 5" guns that Yamato had as well as around 50-100 less dps worth of 25mm guns. If WG wants to go far they can even revert back to when she had her wing mounted 155mm guns as well, ofc her AA is truly pitiful if they use that hull. Not as bad as stock Izumo, but still even worse than B hull Izumo. The rest of the balancing is up to soft stats really. Sigma will likely be lowered, rate of fire may go up by 2-6 seconds, they might remove or nerf the 50/57mm deck armor, rudder and/or turning circle may be changed, torpedo protection caaaaan be changed (for some reason WG looks at torpedo belts as a soft stat for whatever reason), secondary firing range can be nerfed and concealment may be changed, but since the superstructure remains largely the same I dont think so. Personally I find Yamato to be severely OP even at tier 10, but that has much to do with her 2.1 sigma. The lolpen is strong, but more and more enemies get 38mm and 50mm armor plates so its not as strong as it used to be, but 2.1 sigma is really strong on any BB. If it were up to me Musashi would have a normal 1.8 sigma, 32-34 second reload (without MBM3), worse AA and secondaries, slightly lower HP and thinner armor belt. In my mind that would be enough to justify her at tier 9, but even if they nerf all the other stuff I mentioned as well I still wouldnt think she'd be weak. As for consumables, the guy who mentioned the ability to have both "spotter and fighter at the same time" must be a genious. It would be a fun gimmick, but nothing stupid and OP like the radar on Missouri. (Note that the AA rating you see on those tables is just Long AA DPS * long AA range + mid AA dps * mid AA range etc. Its not perfect since it doesnt compensate for how long range AA benefit more from AA range buffs and stuff like MFCAA and defensive AA fire)

To an extent, but the all fore arrangement really makes it play different to any other BB imo. Thing is that Kongo isnt really that squishy any more, with the lowered and now sloped citadel, the thickened upper armor belt as well as the 38mm deck really means she aint a squishy battlecruiser any more.

Its not a matter of need, Haruna would play very differently to Mutsu. Also this isnt a "get it ingame right now" thread, more like speculating how it might work in game.

They have already used St. Louis twice (french tier 9 CA and USN tier 3 CL), but it works out fine since they will never match each other in MM. Expect the same to happen to HMS lion since she will never be any higher than tier 5, and tier 5 cant possibly match up against tier 9

Comparably high health? Check Turtleback effective to def against CL and DD citadels? Check Able to bounce >16" shells? Check Good gun handling? Check Very good AA? Check High velocity shells? Check Good torp arcs? Check Exceptional AP alpha? Check Exceptionally versatile? Check Also DPM is not low and the only "bad" thing with HE is the alpha while firechance is average and pen value is exceptional. So both DPM and HE is if anything average. The one thing I dislike is the fact that you have to give up Hydro for AA barrage. Hydro should be in a seperate slot on at least all the german cruisers.

Buuhuu I cant do well so Ill vent by insulting people... But really though, One shotting cruisers was just a fun little story I wanted to tell Also wanna know why I fire AP at 17? Maybe cause I can one shot tier 6 cruisers, deal 10k volleys to select broadside BBs, or even citadel higher rier cruisers. If you think by one example that I always play the same way you are either a naive terrible player that doesnt know how to adapt properly, or you underestimate me way to much. If you really need to always check pro players for how to play certain ships then that only tells me you dont have the experience or game sense to understand how to make the ship work yourself. To everyone Ive talked to have said Hipper/Prinz are more than capablr cruisers for their tier. Just because its not clearly OP like Atago or especially Kutuzov doesnt mean its terrible. Objectively looking at the stats I cant say its bad. Also server average statistics are not what you should base all you argument on. Try again lmao

Weeb detected :^) The rangefinders are on top of the superstructure right? If the superstructure is lower that might well mean range is lowered as well... its a trade Id take, but a tradeoff that needs to be considered nonetheless

TY for the info, i never expected the concealment to vary by more than a couple hundred meters anyway, but clearing it up still helps. I tried to get some pics in the OP to compare "kongo" and Haruna, but my phone didnt let me haha

To be honest this way of doing premiums is ingenious. First and foremost, it lets people have a premium version of their fav silver ship. That way they dont need to worry about having to retrain captain all the time, and they can earn extra commander xp and silver along the way. Secondly WG earns money off it even if sales are bad since most of the ship model is already in the game, meaning these ships are much easier and faster to make, meaning that this in turn earn them great profit so WG can spend more money developing the game. Everybody wins. Well except Iowa cpts since Missouri is just a straight powercreep over Iowa...

... This whole OP is writing on how it is not a repaint, and what made you think Mutsu is a repaint? It plays very differently and compared to its contemporaries it has different strengths and weaknesses. Come back when you have a a good suggestion on how to let non-class lead ships be represented in the game.

Haha, yes this is what Hipper is all about. Ive one shotted Leanders and Nbergs from full health more than once in my prince. Not long ago since I one shotted an Nberg at 17 km with among other things 4 citadels. Long story short, youre probably playing it wrong. While it will never touch the p2w Atago or Kutuzov, it is pretty strong in its current state. Imo both Mogami and New Orleans are a tiny bit weaker

How TF wasnt WG able to incorporate the 4.5"/45 114mm qf on at least one of the Lion designs? Instead we'll see the same shitty 133 on all KGV class, on the tier 9, 10 AND Vanguard whenever she comes out. I mean come on WG is just throwing away the chance to implement more flavour and uniqie characteristics to these ships. Oh yeah Im also angry that we get no 16" QF gun on the upcoming tree.

Brooklyn was a response to the current tier 8 Mogami class cruisers. Putting it at tier 7 is already kind of a stretch, so tier 6 can never be done while keeping her historical integrity. How I see it play out in game is that we get Brooklyn at tier 7, probably USS Helena at tier 7 as a premium and we get USS St. Louis at tier 8 as a Brazilian (south american) premium or part of a mixed tech tree. How does that sound? If I remember correctly didnt Argentine get a Brooklyn class cruiser some time after the war as well? If so they could also get a premium or something. This way the Brooklyn class and variants can enjoy a spread between tier 7-8 and across multiple nations. Everyone is happy!

I want it I need, need it to keep me feel heated. I want this ship in my port and play a joke game in it every now and then, maybe test some funsies in the training room. I would give my money to WG for this one, but they keep insisting to keep it away from me

Imo Budyonny is the best tier 6 cruiser by a pretty solid margin. Fuso can be compared to all its premium counterparts There is no prem CV at tier 6 I dont play DD, but IJN DDs are stealthy and can be very usefull no matter what due to their 10 km torps. Its useless to bring this up at this season of ranked my dude. Come back when tier 7-8 ranked is back

Yeah, shes fast and has reliable armor. All the other low tier BBs are boring as hell to play. Yeah, she deserves this mich at least

Deck? Yeah sure, but what matters more is that upper plating. Fuso has that really thick casemate armor on the upper plating that no HE can pen and no AP can overmatch.

just the most beautiful tier 4 BB and the most painfull one to play as well... Bad pen, small gun volume AND mediocre dispersion really is too much at times
