You pay full price for repair after the game no matter how much damage you take. They removed increased repair bills for damage taken long ago to both balance economy and to not discourage tanking and pushing.

Suggestion Swedish ships - example minor nation
Affeks replied to Johan_Jung's topic in General Discussion
Oh shut up of course I can. The point is that from what standards WG have already set doing Scandinavia as a "nation" doesnt really break those standards. It really isnt, we are still far more similar and homogeneous than even many single countries are.- 168 replies

Atlanta doesnt really fire that fast, its more the fact that it has 14 guns per broadside. 5 sec reload isnt fast after you've played american DDs haha- 168 replies

As a norwegian I see no problem with this in the game.. I mean we already have commonwealth and Pan asia, and to be honest we Scandinavians are way more similar than what those two other include.. I mean Norwegians and Swedes are probably more similar than an american from the southern states or an american from new york.- 168 replies

Not a real problem. Its only 40rpm distributed on 4 guns. Gearing ingame has 20rpm distributed on 6 guns. Gearing RPM = 120 Halland RPM = 160 That combined with the fact that Halland has 7mm smaller guns and 2 less torpedo tubes I still find it to be balanced. Still would be fun to have a ship that has so fast firing guns while still not completely outgunning other ships.- 168 replies

Is Jean Bart really the best option for a Tier VIII premium French battleship?
Affeks replied to ImperialAdmiral's topic in General Discussion
I'm talking very long term here. IJN has 3 premium BBs, USN even have 5 premium BBs. The french have more than enough ships to make 2 DD lines, a BB line and the already existing cruiser line. Were all speculating long term, because once we see one of these ships be a premium it will decide what happens to the rest of them further down the line. Also dont worry, french will have their fair share of Premium DDs. -
Average battletime has become too short. In other words...

Add option to the two last polls "Didnt answer too short" -

This is not what the thread is about... This is merely speculation and discussion, not begging for WG to implement it now. -

The AA would still be insane... so I would rather it be a tier 9 one. -

Wouldn't they have to make up one? I dunno I really want the 1955 refit, it wouldn't really be Jean Bart without it. -

Jean Bart 1955 AA: 12x2 100mm, 178dps@5 km 14x2 57mm, 357dps@4.5 km 20x1 20mm, 72dps@2km This would be the best BB AA in the game by far. This is kind of dps is so high it would be difficult to balance in game. These values are all based on what AA dps these guns have in the game already. IDK personally I would say Jean Bart - Tier 9 Premium, (needs buffs in a lot of areas if this happens) Richelieu - Tier 8 Tech tree Clemenceau - Tier 8 Premium Goscogne - Tier 7 Premium, (quad turrets would have terrible angles, would have to expose lots of broadside to fire all guns. Better to be nerfed for tier 7) I dont expect this to happen, but this would be the way to include all the variants while also spreading them to as many tiers as possible. -
IJN Haruna (1945) as a tier 6 permium; how to make it work
Affeks replied to Affeks's topic in Battleships
Yeah, thats why i said personally. I know for example that 1MajorKonig likes ww1 looks more. -

You penned the barbette I think. The guns cant pen yamato bow, its a fact. DM can also pen yamato barbettes Only other possibility is that you penned the flat part of the bow, but any ship with AP can pen 32mm of flat armor...

My fav ship type is Cruiser and I dont have that big problem with getting one shotted, I cant remember that happening (except when playing Nberg). The closest I come is I got 80% of my health deleted when playing Moskva, but I was showing broadside and didnt maneuver so it makes sense. I do agree tho that Cruisers have biggest skill ceiling and getting punished is much easier than any other class.

I think most BB players pick spotter planes for the ability to shoot over islands or better shoot into smokes, not for the range.

Scharnhorst, more unique and safe to play than Prinz Eugen.

The Hipper is an unmitigated disaster and needs huge buffs
Affeks replied to Pocktio's topic in Cruisers
Edin is a completely different ship, not worth comparing. Chapa has big citadel, bad agility. Hipper completely crapon anything with AP on range, but Chapa loses all that AP pen on longer ranges. Mogami has 15 guns yea, but 10 sec reload means she pumps out 90 shells per minute while ships like Chapa pumps out 96. IJN HE makes up for it, but Mogami really is a Chapa that trades Radar and main battery range for good torps and stealth. I did a test, I played a game with only shooting AP with Prinz, I got 6 citadels and over 100k dmg (no torps or HE, pure AP). You guys need to remember that damage dealt with AP is much more valuable than dmg done with HE and Fires since BBs, high tier and royal navy cruisers cant heal up as much of it. I mean sure the AP bounces when enemy angles at long ranges, but you only have to adjust your aim or switch targets. When playing with AP in a cruiser holding your fire, aiming at correct places and utilizing stealth is the way to go. Playing like you do with HE spammers doesnt work. Go in a training room, practice at what angles you have to aim at different parts of enemy ships or when to just use HE. With the recent Armor buff you can actually charge down some enemies as well. In my first 10-15 games I agreed with you all. I though they were terrible, but now I've got a hang on how to play them and damn are they fun AND more than strong enough to hold their ground... even in tier 10 games. -
Yamato is still missing AA guns mounted on the main turrets!
Affeks replied to Affeks's topic in Battleships
Thats no easy sol Being able to reach 5km range on those 40mm bofors is a big difference to the 4.4km you reach with 25mm. -

Affeks replied to Affeks's topic in Battleships
Oh dude there are a ton more, just that this one is an easy fix that I (personally at least) believe wont even ruin game balance. Also about those t4-6 BBs, Izumo is suffering from a lot of the same problems... dont get me started on it. -

Affeks replied to Affeks's topic in Battleships
Remember that Monty has 3.5km range on those mids tho which means they are still far better. but I agree that Yammy has stuff to deal with worse AA and IMO monty and Iowa should get a buffed torpedo belt similar to that Alabama has, both for historical value and game balance. GK has Hydro and Yammy has what you already mentioned. -
Do not look at Missouri as a good example, its a straight up better Iowa in every way. Not only that but having a radar on a BB is controversial in its own right.
-
Yes in fact i can. Stop dodging my proposed accuracy nerf.. Its truly that which makes Yamato strong. I wouldn't buy Musashi at tier 10, she would be too similar to Yamato (which I already have), but only nerf it down to tier 9 may make it play different as well as let it match up against different ships as well. Yamato is considered by many as a contemporary to Iowa, so even for historical value it truly fits tier 9.
-
US ships are usually very fun to play. Their BB line, Cruiser line and DD line are all quite close quarters DPM monsters. Of course they are some of the most difficult lines in the game as well. Other than that Moskva is quite fun, and Hburg/Roon are some of the funnest cruisers. RN cruisers are very boring in my opinion, strong, but way to much sitting in smoke. It is basically a point and click adventure. As for premiums I would say Alabama, Atlanta, Warspite, Atago are all fun. Again Belfast and Kutuzov are super OP, but too much point and click while sitting in those smokes.

HAHA you would be surprised to see how much of ships WG consider soft stats. Again all of you are overestimating the lolpen factor of Yamato. Yamato having 2.1 sigma (by far best battleship accuracy in the game) is far more overpowered than being able to pen some BB bows... There are tons of 38mm, 50mm, 57mm and 60mm platings at high tier now, so the lolpen factor of Yamatos guns are not the sole thing that makes her strong anymore. Also the argument that she would meet tier 7 ships undermines your earlier argument that lolpen guns are too strong at tier 9, because at tier 7 BBs have 25mm bows and decks which means normal 406mm guns and even 381mm guns can lolpen at that tier. Meaning that if anything those 460mm guns lose some of their edge. Anyway I for one cant accept Musashi at tier 10 as shes a straight up weaker Yamato in a lot of ways. There are tons of other things that make Yamato strong apart from the guns (Armor layout, turning circle, 13.9 km concealment with build, 56% torpedo protection) as well as tons of soft stats. Many naval historians consider Iowa a better ship than Yamato, so its about time we nerf one of the sisters and have her have a slug match on equal ground against Iowa/Missouri.
