    Probably because there are more than enough Japanese carriers to make a second Japanese CV line. This line would be focused around converted CVs, basically BBs, ocean liners or other ships that were converted to CVs. Of course Shinano would make a perfect tier 9-10 in that line. Edit: This is why we see no carrier conversion in the current line... you know Akagi, Junyo etc. afaik Zuiho is the only conversion atm. ofc Kaga is a premium so doesnt count

    Amagi is much more tanky. Lower citadel, better citadel slope armor, torpedo belt that actually extends above waterline and protects part of the ship from HE.. Amagi also sits lower in the water compared to Kii and Kii has only about half the torpedo protection that Amagi has... Bottom line AMagi is better at brawling than Kii despite the torps. Amagi also has better RoF, turret rotation and turret armor... all of which are important to be good at close range combat. In no place on the battlefield (except for AA support I guess haha) is Kii better than Amagi.

    OH WOULD YOU LOOK AT THAT! Just EU server getting shafted yet again... nothing to see here. In all seriousness though this is a major reason why I'm not getting the ship. I said earlier that I dont think the ship is much better than Amagi, but at least with the camo its a good money maker... OH WAIT I cant even get my hands on it now (unless I pay for the big bundle) This is it, I wont get this unless they do something about this.

    Last patch I got maybe 2-3 CTDs, but those didnt consist when I restarted. Some of my friends however had to reinstall the game multiple times during the cycle... funsies

    I agree, this WAS the one of the most stable games I've played as well... at least untill a few month ago when first most of my friends had to reinstall from time to time... and now I do too. I have never modded the game and prolly never will. Yup, me and my friends really hate patches now. The fear that one of us will be completely left out from a good night of gaming due to some unexplained bug really isnt good. I just want WG to stop for a while and focus on bug fixing instead of adding clan milking to the game.

    Okay I looked around.. and all I got from the support page was "try reinstalling the game" yeah sure nice let me just spend 1-2 hours reinstalling the game. "if issue should persist then consider submitting a ticket" ugh, I get the feeling they dont even want the bugs to get reported.. I mean would any common player look around the forum untill they find a bug reporting thread where they want you to "zip your crashes folder and upload to a file sharing platform, to then link it and carefully explain it in detail according to a template"... I went too look for answers, and got only fuel for my salt. at least venting on the forum helps while I reinstall the game edit: oh wait nvm I need to do a shitty trick to reinstall the game without redownloading it.. I mean at least WG could implement a reinstall function before rolling out tons of dangerous patches.. I would at least appreciate that How can WG even propose that players redownload AND reinstall the game before submitting tickets? Man this really is a game breaker for me. I think I'll stay away from the game for a while... this really isnt worth it tbh *Edited

    ... No no no... you dont get it. I dont say that every update should be bug free... its just I have noticed that me and my friends can barely play because game fatal crashes happen despite reinstalls, contacting support or other people who know their way around it. I mean for the last year updates have very rarely been a source of issues for anyone I know... but lately that is not the case at all. Yes updates introduces bugs, but updates are bugfixes as well, not bug introducers lmao. I ignored this because I had the same mindset as you, but this game is literally not enjoyable when you plan for days ahead to be able to play with friends only to find one or two of you cant even enter port... and that has been happening time and time again the past few patches. Huh, I guess. Last patch one of my friends literally had to reinstall the game, only to have the same CTD bug reappear 10 or so games later. This patch I get a similar bug instead and he's fine. So yeah I guess they are fixing some stuff here and ther, but my standard tells me that a game breaking bug shouldn't appear for multiple people I know every forsaken patch that rolls out.

    Thats why they fit so well as tech tree ships! They all have much room for "what if" refits for AA. Well they also just compare well with the existing ships so thats good.

    The Kii in Preview

    Despite what people say, Kii is just a worse Amagi. Despite the "buff" to range, reload and turret rotation, its still much much worse. Kii sits higher in the water, its citadel is higher in the water, its sloped citadel armor is thinner (short range armor worse basically), the turret rotation, accuracy (.1 less sigma value), reload AND range is still worse. In addition the torpedo protection is worse and the torpedo buldge that protects Amagi from many HE pens is gone on the Kii. Personally I see in no way that slightly better AA and measly 6km torps make up for all the mentioned cons compared to Amagi. Get Amagi guys, not saying Kii looks "bad", but Amagi is just better.

    There are many ways to balance that ship I feel. I mean Graf Spee has heal at, but that doesnt mean the Frenchie needs it to stay strong. With 6 knots extra speed and over 10k extra HP it really doesnt need it. What we need to consider is that it may get Speed Boost... Anyways I would love to get my hands on this ship one day. About the torps, I dont think I read about the torps either. Just logically it would be weird for it not to have it. Considering its size, speed and role having torps is historically a must. Then again WG might want to leave the torps out as a sort of balancing measure.     Izumo- the joke at tier 9

    The gun caliber is the same. Izumo has significantly better shell velocity and much better penetration as a result. Problem is that the shells are still relatively light so they dont have as good penetration at range compared to for example Iowa

    Let's talk French battleships a bit...

    After someone found those ships in the wiki I actually loaned that book from a libary. All my previous posts where written with mostly that book as a source. 1926 Cruiser is everything Graf Spee wanted to be, but even more. More Guns, bigger guns, better speed, more HP, more armor. Tl;dr its a tier 7 cruiser without a doubt. 1927 Battlecruiser, this ship's strength would prolly be gunpower and sheer top speed. Compared to Scharnhorst it trades armor and secondaries for gunpower and even more speed. Tier 7 Battleship no doubts here 1928 Battleship, Again very comparable to Gneisenau as you say. We dont know the Belt thickness of this one, but logically it would probably be 300+ so it could bounce 12" and maybe 14" shells. 1930 Battlecruiser, I found this one to be the toughest nut. Treated as a cruiser it would almost reach tier 8, but treated as a BB I cant see this make the cut to tier 6. Personally I think the only logical placement would be tier 5 as a BB as it is very similar to the later 1931 battlecruiser, although with a reorganized main and secondary battery. 1931 Battlecruiser, An obvious tier 5 imo, its literally a downscaled Dunkerque. Same layout and speed, except smaller guns, less AA/secondaries and ofcourse less HP. For tiers its basically: Tier V : Normandie, 1931/23 333t Battlecruiser, 1930/23 690t Battlecruiser Tier VI : Strasbourg, Lyon, Dunkerque Tier VII: 1928, Gascogne, 1927 I consider the 23 690t design to be the most unique, so I place my money on it as a premium. Normandie is similar to Bratagne and the 23 333 ton design is similar to Dunkerque at tier 6. I really dont want Lyon to be in the game, so I hope Strasbourg becomes the silver tier 6 despite it being superior to Dunkerque in every way. Tier 7 is difficult, both Gascogne and 1928 fit the bill. Personally I would pick 1928 though, but WG would prolly pick Gascogne since it doesnt ruin the "caliber progression". 1927 is an obvious premium. I made a sheet with estimated stats these ships would have. All have been carefully considered and calculated with what stats we have from in game. Some stats are speculated (like the characteristics of the 12" guns and the full displacement on the ships), but I have kept in game balancing measures to a minimun on this one. I wrote the AA values for the 130mm guns if WG includes the DP mod for the mounts. If not just pretend its not there. I didnt include the potential tier 8+ french BBs as it takes too much space, but this is good enough to compare. I kinda want to pick out each individual ship and compare them to the competition they would meet. I already have most ships plotted into such sheets so wouldnt take long at all. Give a word if any of ya interested.   18. So currently Hipper/Prinz has 13 sec reload (~4.6 RPM), while Algerie has 12 second reload (5 RPM) despite both ships historically having the same RoF figures. Hipper and Eugen are both overdue for a buff again and this small change is a step in the right direction, especially considering multiple tier 8s have had their RoF buffed lately. New Orleans got a 12 sec reload and Charles Martell even got a 10 sec reload. Hipper and Eugen are already kinda undergunned for their tier, I see no reason why they should have kinda slow RoF figures as well despite the SK C/34 having historically relatively high RoF figures. Both from a historical AND gameplay POV the rate of fire needs a buff fast imo

    While Gneisenau isnt the strongest tier 7 BB out there, it is certainly strong enough to handle the competition. While I played it the secondaries had less range and slower reload. I feel it would be even better now than my old impressions.

    Sooo basically if I understand these ships Hipper = Silver tier 8 Eugen = Gold tier 8 Blucher = Gold tier 7 Seydlitz = Gold tier 7-8 4x3 150mm cruiser? (Leaving the Carrier reconstruction out of this) Lutzow = Gold Russian tier 8 with 150/203mm? So basically the question here is: can Blucher make a balanced tier 7 with soft nerfs? Will Seydlitz with the originally planned 4x3 150mm work best in tier 7 or 8? Is it okay to give Lutzow to the russians? and if so should it have the 150s or 203s or even have the option to choose between them? Personally there is much hidden potential in the Hipper class, but WG wasted a good opertunity by making a Hipper clone. Here's hoping the rest of them will have more personality.

    Myoko may be strong, but its not OP. Problem is most tier 7 cruisers are so damn weak except for Belfast and Fiji which are blatantly OP. Schorhs, Algerie and Indianapolis are fine as is, Myoko imo is just barely a bit more reliable compared to the others.

    AKIZUKI Never Again!

    Maybe, but personally I find Akizuki to be good enough.. sure its not as good of an allrounder like Benson, but I have no problem making it work despite almost never playing DD myself. And the server wide stats clearly showes its not anything to throw away. Personally I find it just a tad bit weak, but with the upcoming IFHE change I dont think it'll be a ship worth buffing.

    I finally got the NC...

    Once you get used to the shell arcs it will be one of your favourite ships.. I dont have NC, but Alabama is maybe my all time fav BB.
