A battleship is just a big armored and well armed ship, this is pretty much the case for all nations. Battlecruiser however is a little different depending on which nation you ask. For the most part a Battlecruiser is just a Battleship that trades armor for more speed, but keeps more or less the same armament. For germans however a Battlecruiser is a Battleship that trades gun caliber for more speed, but keeps more or less the same armor. Hence why Scharnhorst and Gneisenau (fast and well armored, but comparably small 11" guns) was originally Battlecruisers for Germans, but were classified as Battleships by other nations due to their thick armor belts.

Navweaps lists that the point blank pen on point blank for the 380s are 748mm, yet on Muckers comparison it does almost 800mm... From what I see he's just changing around the Cd/Drag coefficient... as with the 340s he lists drag coefficients ranging from .6 to .3 which in itself just makes an insane difference on range, hence they have the same pen on point blank despite being completely different shells.

I hope this is based on historical data and not just made up drag coefficients. But okay if 15" and 16" has basically the same overmatch thresholds then doesnt that just make having 16 15" guns straight up superior to having 12 16" guns? Seems like a pain to balance. Like for example historically having 8 15" guns is better than 12 14" guns, but in game the 14" guns are far superior (despite all the 25mm bows you cant overmatch) so Fuso and NM gets a completely shafted sigma since the few mm of gun caliber doesnt make up for it. Again I never doubted the performance of the 15" guns, but damn seems like a pain to balance

We never doubted the strengths of the 15" guns, what we were concerned about however is how the 15" guns would completely demolish any cruiser on sight, but leave most BBs unharmed due to bounce mechanics... There is a reason we dont see more than 12 guns on a BB, its because its unbalanced towards cruisers... I dont ever want to see a 4x4 design as it would have to have terrible dispersion to be even close to balanced yet that would mean it would suffer against BBs... The French gun we are actually worried about in terms of pen is the 340mm guns found on Bratagne and Normandie.

What the bloody eff are you talking about?! Were just discussing the fact that in game having the mid turret be a superfiring one would be superior... I also specifically said I'm happy that they keep the mid turret in a non superfiring position for historical and game variety reasons... Dont jump to a conclusion that we're just whining here man. Man having Normandie in the line makes me sad... I really want the natural French Battlecruiser - Fast BB evolution to be represented in game.. all the way from the 23 300t Proto-Dunkerque at tier 5 to the n3 Alsace at tier 9... Having a progression like Proto Dunkerque - Strasbourg - 37 000t 16" - Richelieu - Alsace - Super Alsace is such a danm obvious way to go it hurts that they stray from it. Better to introduce the fast BB playstyle to the players as early as tier 5 rather than wait till something like 7 or 8 like they did with the mess that is currently the RN BB line.

Yeah the problem is that the guns would suck vs BBs, but totally demolish cruisers due to the sheer volume.. thats why I never want Lyon to be ingame... it would need to have complete garbage dispersion not to completely one shot every cruiser, but would still struggle against any sort of BB belt armor all while having a tier 5 hull at best.

Oh I was just implying that having the midship turret superfiring A or Y turret would be more effective in game. Also quad turrets implies that it wont have the best turret angles either. Not that I mind since most drawings I have seen on the ship depicts it with a non/limited superfiring midship turret. I still hope we see Normandie on tier 5... it really shouldn't be a tier 6 with those derp cannons and terrible hull

Not true. It just looks like the concealment is nerfed, but in reality the addition of concealment camo gives it a 10.7km concealment.

Normandie with a nonfiring middle turret is quite bad ingame, but I like that they wanna do it because... well variety Also seems we get the 5 turret Bratagne. That hopefully means a premium 4 turret lorraine at same tier! I love it

Why does Myogi keep the type 5/ww1 14" shells despite getting a interwar refit? I mean, what Myogi is sorely lacking is reliable firepower. While Myogi is supposed to make up for that in gun caliber, it does not make a difference at all since there isnt a significant overmatching threshold between 12" and 14" guns. So the only difference the 14" gun would make is in penetrating power, but since Myogi keeps the Type 5 AP that difference in penetration is seriously stunted. I suggest Myogi should get the Type 91 AP/APC with the upgraded hull. There are three big reasons I think this will both benefit WG, Myogi lovers like me and at least somewhat relieve players grinding through her. First, it would by no means make Myogi OP. It would only buff the penetration the the extent that you can rely on it more. The dispersion and sheer lack of guns will still mean Myogi still lacks firepower, but she can at least pride herself in her penetration and the other utilities she has (top speed, range, thick upper plating). Secondly it would pave the way for a potential old stock Kongo as a premium at tier 4, similar to what we saw was done to Mutsu. That way the stock Kongo could keep the old 14" shells and somewhat offset the fact that she has 8 guns compared to Myogis 6. And third it would fit historically with Myogi getting that "interwar" refit... yeah I know Myogi wasnt and actually built ship and that the refit is only fantasy, but it doesnt change the fact that its quite odd that the whole ship gets a refit but they dont bother loading the shells that go with it...

If they nerf HE and firechance to normal values then yes.... untill then... no. Currently KGV is completely broken. Its by far the best BB in the game at uptiering. I mean burning Iowas and Izumos is as easy as citadelling lower tiered cruisers... all with HE of course. If you hit me up a while ago I would have agreed with you, but having good secondaries and torps are too situational to make it completely broken. HE spamming at 15-18 km range completely safe from danger yet starting 2 fires per salvo really makes KGV much stronger in almost every single battle. -

KGV is much stronger than Scharnhorst imo, Scharnhorst dispersion, AP pen and useless HE just makes it so insanely much less reliable than KGV despite better armor. no no NO please for gods sake no. What makes KGV so insanely strong is the completely stupid HE. It should never have had that HE to begin with. As a normal BB that relies on AP like any other normal BB it would be completely balanced and even better it wouldn't completely powercreep every tier 7 Cruiser out there. Right now there is no reason to play tier 7 Cruisers over KGV. KGV has good range, good shell drag, much better HE damage, Fire chance and is just a lot more tanky compared to cruisers... wow I really hate this ship. -

The ship is fine, if not OP if you ask me. Learn to play BBs first and please read up on Overmatch mechanics before crying about lack of armor haha. I just got to KGV and games like these are not a rarity... -
Hey guys, Jean Barts AA with 1953 armaments would be 3x3 152mm, 24.9dps@5km 12x2 100mm, 178 dps @5 km 14x2 57mm, 357 dps @4.5 km 20x1 20mm, 72dps@2km SO yeah thats waaay beyond tier 10 AA even, This would be by far the best AA in the game (excluding dps with AA barrage activated). At first I was pretty sceptical as well, but I dont think having this loadout would be that far fetched... Sure the AA is insane, but so is Texas' at tier 5. Also Degrasse/Colbert's AA would be 8x2 127mm, 125 dps @5.2 km 10x2 57mm, 255 dps @4.5 km It has two more twin 127mm guns and two more twin 57mm guns, putting its AA power just above Henri IV. That tbh would be perfectly balanced at tier 8, especially if WG decides to strip it off its AA consumable.

WG please stop updating the game if YOU CANT KEEP CTD BUGS OUT OF THE GAME FFS!!! For every patch that rolls out more and more bugs hit me and everyone I play this game with. I post this is the gameplay section BECAUSE IT LITERALLY AFFECT GAMEPLAY TO THE CORE. I dont do caps posts... but rolling out patch after patch despite having huge CTD bugs in the game with no sign of being fixed anytime soon is starting to get on my nerves. I dont want no *Edited clan management if me or my clanmates cant even enter the game lmao... This forum has more gameplay than a game that keeps crashing to desktop, take that as a hint.
