    Youre not listening at all. Giving up sigma for the ability to actively dodge incoming volleys and be almost immune to torps is a valid trade off.... God youre not even trying any more

    ... Okay so you just admitted you dont read my posts. The whole point is that the sum of the trade offs between Kii and Amagi arent worth it. On the other hand Alabama vs NC trade offs are worth it NC has better Health and accuracy, while Alabama has better turning circle and torpedo protection. All while keeping the roughly same armor layout. These trade offs are about similar in value while Amagi and Kii certainly are not even close in value.

    I think Cruiser split happens before french BBs maybe. BBs usually takes long to make and most of these cruisers are already in game, at least half way. Afaik Worcester was ingame during Alpha as well.

    The only thing I expect to be different is that they buff the reload to 12 seconds instead of 15 seconds. That puts the total output a little higher than the current Baltimore, but in a worse turret layout. I really find the rest of the ship to be exactly how it should be to fit tier 9. The torps might change though... Although idk how risky WG will be with them considering they prolly want to keep them short ranged. Maybe the 4.5 km torps we can find on Sims/Atlanta

    What happened last time is that you will get the prem camo for both Balti and the ship that replaces it. As for the anniversary event.. idk prolly it will stay tier 8 since all the event camos were for tier 8 ships.

    I kinda hope for tier 8 as well. I still think it needs something to compensate for being kinda just worse than Baltimore in most ways. I mean Wichita will have ~8000 less HP than Baltimore so it really needs something.

    So basically you agree with me that currently you shouldnt even consider that you have torps on Kii as they are not the main armament, which basically forces you to play Kii as you would play Amagi... Yet Amagi is better at the mid range in every conceivable way compared to Kii... I mean sure all those little things dont seem big themselves, but they really add up in the end and proves that Kii really doesnt do Amagis job nearly as good. On the other hand I find Amagi itself to be really bad at mid range as well. Alabama/NC does that job much better and with a smaller ship, better armor layout and better agility to boot. Amagi/Kiis terrible vertical dispersion really doesnt make for good guns. You say that Amagi probably has the best guns at the tier and I must say: YOU HAVENT EVEN PLAYED NC/ALABAMA. Try those ships, get used to the slow shells and see just how insanely bad Amagi/Kiis guns really are.

    So where does this list put Wichita? Tier 8 with some gimmicks to compensate? Then again we might see the Oregon City class take the slow as CA premiums at tier 8 Tier 7 with soft nerfs as to not completely beat NO out of the water? Then again we have tons of treaty cruisers that fit the bill for tier 7 premiums... Difficult

    You forget that the guns have worse reload, worse traverse AND worse turret armor. That combined with .1 less sigma and reduced range really adds up. The guns are just that much worse, and its not like Amagi had good guns to begin with. Kii is just soooo much worse than Amagi cause unlike ships like Tirpitz you really have no worthwhile trade offs. I mean as you say that raw belt thickness does little to nothing and the lack of torpedo bulges protecting the lower part of the side plating are gone... so despite the higher health pool, in practice you are a much bigger target (as you are higher in the water) and you have much worse protection against HE spam. Those torps arent even good in self defense as they are spotted from the moon and are easily telegrafed due to badish arcs and being all the way at the back of the ship. And even when they hit you only have 3 at most. One of the biggest reasons I want a buff to spesifically the torps is because it would still be situational, but at least it would reward risky play more. On top of that Japan is supposed to be the Torpedo nation, yet they have worse torps compared to Tirpitz in almost every single way.

    Yeah they will most likely revert the concealment buff and give it higher citadel as afaik right now the citadel is lower than it used to. I think itll be balanced at tier 6 with small touches on soft stats

    I really hope they dont, I really want a light cruiser line that is normal... at this point RN CLs are nothing like other light cruisers in the game. Having a CL line that is in line with other CLs will be nice for once.

    I agree, another reason why Amagi is much better than Kii, trading tons of gun performance and survivability for AA and Torps that only get knocked out is not good at all. Another reason to either buff the torps or some other part of the ship.

    THe thing is that the rest of Kii as a ship falls short of Tirpitz in too many ways. I even found the guns to underperform even compared to Tirpitz. I mean if the torps are situational in Tirpitz, then imagine how situational they are in Kii, a much less agile and armored ship with non existent secondaries. Also the Torps on Tirpitz arent really that weak, they mostly explode all the time since they are placed amidships, meaning that they are hit very often compared to on Kii which has them on the aft. Now dont misunderstand, having the torps on the aft is a giant liability in itself. Enemies have much longer time to react and you basically have to account for half the length of the ship when torpedoing fore.

    I would support this if there was any proof that the money actually reaches the ship and is not just wasted on 5 years of "damage surveys" without any repairs or effort to save it are actually made. Texas has been rusting for 50 years yet even despite money being sent its way very little has been done. Way to many departements involved with saving that ship. I would love helping, but the saving Texas project has become an endless money sink. Nobody wants the project to be finished as it would strip tons of people and multiple departements from their income. Not gonna pour money into this untill I see actual progress
  16. Played my first game in Hipper (I have Prinz so I know how to play it) and I farmed two Aobas for 6 citadels. Hipper really downtiers much better than most Cruisers, ofc helped by the fact that it can bounce 14" and 15" guns, but it is damn near useless in many up tier matches. HE and Firechance cant keep up with tier 8-10 BBs, the sluggish movement cant keep up with the much larger and faster firing guns and lastly the armor and turtleback doesnt stop high tier shells that well. Yup a RoF buff is what it needs. I mean going from 8 guns with 13 sec reload to 9 guns with 8.8 sec reload (with t9 module) really is way to much.

    WG tested IJN CVs in Alpha long before they were introduced as a full tech tree in Beta. I dont know for certain, but there is a big chance Iowa was in the game during alpha

  19. Yup, just adding the already existing guns would require little additional effort on WGs part and will condition players better into the succeding ships.
  20. I guess, but I still think the easiest would be to just have the new guns available as an upgrade. It just doesnt make sense that it has WW2 AA and secondaries but still has a main battery designed in 1905. http://navweaps.com/Weapons/WNGER_827-45_skc05.php See this, this is the exact gun they mounted on Yorck, it fits on a stock, but damn it doesnt make sense to have on the rest of the ship.
  21. I have prinz so I know all about Hipper haha. The problem is that I dont think Yorck's strengths outweigh all its terrible aspects and I dont think what WG has done (buff RoF to 12 seconds) is a good way to address how to balanc Yorck.
  22. I find this to be super situational and very dependent on what target you face along with even bigger importance in that they show you a perfectly 90 degree impact angle. Even most cruisers especially tier 10s shatter ap even to medium ranges. Even german upper belts on Bismarck shetters most of your AP at long range meaning you ahve to go for superstructure AP hits on long range, which many result in low damage overpens. I think going over Mogamis shells per minute wont be a big problem
  23. 12s reload may put it close to Mogami, but you have to remember Mogami has insane HE alpha and Firechance, being able to much more reliably dish out high DPM where as Hippers potential is only reached when an enemy shows you a clean broadside at medium/close ranges. 11s would put it close to NO sure, but remember that NO has other strengths compared to Hipper, like much better agility, concealment, radar and autobounce angles so I dont think it would be stronger than NO at all. Still though I agree that buffing it to 10s is risky, but not as risky as you believe it to be. Its historically the fastest firing gun at tier 8, yet its one of the slowest atm...
  24. Increasing the RoF to 10-12 sec might just be enough for me to consider Hipper/Prinz to be balanced again.

    What are you guys on about?! While sure some of the realistic factors are taken out of the game, the historical armor models of most ships are actually used in game. These posts have no merit in this discussion. While this is true, the reality is that how well a player does in Nelson is much more dictated by how lucky you are with MM... The Nelsons weakness to overmatching and citadels makes Nelson completely crippled against BBs or Cruisers that rely heavily on AP. Especially also since your heal is terrible at dealing with this sort of damage. Nelson is also crippled against Torpedo DDs and TBs since it is really darn big and cant heal much torpedo damage. On the other hand the heal can heal so much against HE and fires that you are virtually unsinkable to ships that rely on HE spam. In other words youll find yourself being able to tank for days in certain matches, then get unlucky and get double citadelled through the bow by a Colorado at 16KM and you have no way to heal back up. All this considered I found Nelson to be extremely annoying to play as since you pray in hopes that you wont have to meet a big caliber BB. While on the other hand playing against a Nelson when youre in lets say Shchors feels like you are being cheated since it can heal your DPM 2 times over in no time. Tbh I wish WG just implemented this OCs sloped AND lowered citadel and instead removed the ridiculous heal. This way we are hopefully left with a balanced ship, but managed to hit two flies in a hit by removing the two big gameplay inconsistencies Nelson has, the annoyingly weak citadel and horribly unbalanced heal.
