  1. This is really sad, when a premium BB is the closest you get to a tier 8 BB that punishes you for mistakes. And even then you have a silver counterpart that is less punishing and more rewarding in every practical way.

    How can you say any Cruiser has good armor? They get slaugthered by all HE and basically all BBs overmatch them. Citadel high in the water easy to citadel by BBs from all angles. Sure Indy has that 22mm plating that lets it bounce 11" and 12" shells, but damn its soo far from tanky you can get. It has some ability to dodge shells with that good rudder and turning circle, but that can only save you for so long. Not saying Indy is under powered, I have one and I love it. THen again having one on the enemy team hardly poses any threat and wouldnt really require you to posistion all that differently. I know it has it, but damn Belfast is an exception in almost every way. Why WG thought giving Belfast the tier 8 module in the last second before release really blows my mind. Still I'd like to keep Belfast out of this since its even worse than Flint in many ways. Sure they can threaten it, but its not like squishy low tier radar cruisers has the leisure to roam around and position perfectly only to deal with one enemy ship. If anything they would maybe get one or two radars of oppertunity on you the whole game, and that requires big mistakes in Flint gameplay. Atlanta radar is 8.5km tho, even worse and even in a worse position to waltz around the map and radar as they please.
  3. No not really. Netherlands can easily fill out an entire line by themselves, so can the Swedes. A pan European line should only include nations that can fill an entire line by themselves.

    Lets be real, a few premium ships (usually in the hands of wallet warriors) with low range radar and super squishy armor and without concealment module wont pose a core threat to Flints, Fijis or the like.

    No not that, I meant whats the point in being fast if its not competitive against other ship types like Cruisers. There are so many parts to maneouverability that only having a high top speed means very little. Sure you may be a few knots faster than most cruisers, but thats with speed boost activated and when youre going in a straight line (prime target for enemy AP and torps). Cruisers will still outspot you (hopefully), and out turn you. I just dont think that situationally being able to outrun cruisers and some DDs is enough to break core gameplay.

    And whats the point of being fast if its not competitive against other ship types.. Yes I understand where you stand, I was the exact same on KM BB hydro, but the thing Is speed boost only affect the ship using it, but hydro can spot torps and ships for the rest of the team as well. It takes away the supporting role of the other ships... Remember with BB displacement youll still accelerate slower than cruisers and youll take much slower to recover from speed lost in a turn. I just dont think that it would ruin the game sorry. Though I see your concerns

    Historically? yes... Gameplay wise? no... Am I 100% pleased with it? Nope, but its better than RN BBs

    Yeah sure, but Consumables are already so far from reality that I dont care about it that much. On the other hand though having a base speed already 7 knots faster than realistically possible is much worse. Especially if Speed Boost gets added on top of that. Reaching unrealistic speeds with consumable and flag is not as bad as reaching unrealistic speeds without anything active.

    Yes because Richelieu actually went 32 knots irl, then with speed boost thats 39. But For Normandie it was designed for like 23 knots max, yet in game its 29 knots WITHOUT speed boost...

    Ashitaka Tier 7 BB is finally coming

    The cartoon camo gives the same bonuses a tier 10 premium camo gives. And yes I also got the green camo, but it only gives 50% XP along with normal camo things. No extra credit or post battle service reduction.

  13. Because 8% would be barely noticable and wont change how the ship is played at all. 20% however could actually make this ship play different from other BBs.

    There is little to no radars at tier 7, a few NOs and Chapas, but nothing you mert every game like in tier 10 If you smoke in a position so close to the enemy that hydro kills you then you woulda died when smoke runs out anyways. If torps kill you in smoke then goddamn youre terrible. Stay angled, on the move and preferably behind an island EVEN when you have smoke up. This here basically screams to me you dont play much ships with smoke. Shells into smoke? As I said a simple press on W or S can save you from those. Getting closer? Oh wait hell kill you with guns or torps, or flint can just usethe already set smoke to get far enough away that its super good concealment kicks in. Further away? See my prev post Using WASD? I dont find it that hard to hit stuff that dodge anymore... Yes sure this still is a valid tactic and is a weakness. But 4.5 sec reload with 12 guns without having AR kick in yet give you lots of room to range your target or miss a few shells. Kill it before it lays smoke? Lmaaaao with its concealment thats not likely, and with deadly AA that is longer than its air detection you cant rely on CV/catapult plane spotting either. Kill after it lays smoke? Well again any Flint player with half a braincell will already be behind an island or already repositioning by that point.

    This is another useless argument. If Flint gets into a position to contest an objective the Flint will be able too shoot at targets all the time, well unless the enemies run away and the Flint wins on points because it can single handedly make a death zone for DDs, Cruisers , BBs and Carriers. Oh and if enemies reposition Flint still has cruiser mobility, under 10km concealment so it can set up a new death zone wherever. If running away is the only counter to a ship then its OP. Edit: to clearify I think both Atlanta and Flint are too strong, its just that Flint is OP because it removes the high skill ceiling Atlanta has by giving it a foolproof US smokescreen, much more usable torps and even higher total AA values (even more because combining Smoke and AA is super good against unskilled CV players and further inflates XP and WR totals).

Ive seen a nuke level a city and Ive seen that Flint is really damn strong. I already felt Flint was super strong before, but now it benefits from the new IFHE so free 2% firechance on top of an already strong ship you know for good measure. These sloppy long flight time shells benefit from BFT which normal light cruisers dont get the benfit of. I play a lot of Atlanta and damn its good, problem is that if you get spotted behind an island the whole enemy team will start shooting at you. Ofc I learned to live with that, but it still forces me to stop shooting or retreat so not all my guns can hit my target anymore... Or you know if I had smoke I could just press a button and continue to fire knowing that long lasting US smoke will protect me. And you know if someone shoots me and hits me in the smoke I can just press W or S and dodge that as well. Tl;dr Flint is OP and all of you that has one knows it, yet for some reason keeps denying it.
  17. I hope for god this is sarcasm. There are tons of reason why people sell ships. For example youll need new captains all the time if you keep lower tiered ships. Or maybe you dont have too much silver because you dont play much premium ships or have premium account to account for the service costs of tier 9-10 ships or premium consumables. Or maybe you dont like a ship so you sell it. Or maybe you always have more XP than you have money so you sell old ships to buy new ones. And finally maybe the rest of the buildings are already built... God these posts are super unconstructive... Though if you tried to make me salty you sure succeded.

    While yes most people dont know how to shoot in smoke... What you just said is not a correct argument at all. Flint is crazy OP and you know it. That said WG will probably never nerf it directly since its protected by premium armor. Luckily theyre very rare so dont get too hung up on it.
  19. Same Ive already stopped looking at AA as a usefull stat as a few well placed DB strikes, a few cruiser HE volleys or even a single RN BB HE volley knocks out a significant amount of mounts. The unreliability of AA really doesnt make for something you'd never trade for any other benefit the ship might have gotten. Take Kii for example. The AA gets knocked out before even planes launch from the CV.. yet it trades a number of main gun statistics and survivability factors for it. Even cruisers gets one of their main intended roles just blown off the ship if a RN BB can have their way with you for one volley.
  20. The thing is that skilled cruiser players can angle (not go completely bow on) against BBs and actually bounce lots of shells. OFC Yamato was a complete counter to this, but Yamatos relatively slow shells, bad turret handling, slow top speed and less guns still gave cruiser players the chance to play around it. France on the other hand will probably be fast (with speed boost maybe even catch up to most cruisers), have decent/good turret handling, fast shell velocity and if I understand this right all guns on the bow. This really gives cruiser players less room to play around. Further cruiser tears were needed in WoWs so my hype isnt all that high anymore.
  21. Every tier 10 cruiser aside from Moskva and Minotaur has 30 mm upper plating and/or deck armor. Thats why youll hear players like Flamu call Zao armor "troll armor". 30mm currently bounces everything except for Yamato and CQ 457mm guns.
  22. WHOA very important is that those 431mm guns will overmatch 30mm plating.... More counters for cruisers is not really what I want or something WoWs needs atm. My hype suddenly dropped
  23. Soooo... 8 or 12 guns for France? I'm assuming 8, but knowing WG 12 would not surprise me. Still really happy they didnt go full ape with something ridiculus like 4x4 15" or just repeat it with a 4x3 16" design. Really like they went with the 3x4 15" design for Alsace though. Looking good for tier 8-10 at least. Still tier 6-7 really worries me.

    Ashitaka Tier 7 BB is finally coming

    I got myself the Kobayashi camo for Kii since I was gonna buy Tirpitz anyways the bundle gave me enough doubloons for Tirpitz while throwing in flags, XP missions and the camo kinda for free. I found however that Kobayashi camo combined with signals and victory missions made Kii into the best Money/captain trainer Ive had my hands on. Got very often 46k captain XP, 15k free xp or 600-700k silver (after service fees). The kobayashi camo acting as a tier 10 prem camo really helps. I guess moneymaking falls short of missouri, but havent seen anyone get these numbers in Missouri.
