I thought about this and I agree that they dont fit as is now, but I took a look at Hburgs hull and in my eyes there is enough room if they just slightly move some of the superstructure around. Hburg certainly is a big enough hull to mount them.

You are completely right. Although the games I got to use torpedoes happened more often than expected in ranked, its still not close to enough to warrant all the other nerfs

The thing is you are much more likely to meet an enemy BB 1 on 1 in ranked than in randoms

You are 100% correct in that you get abused by your team all the time. Staying at max range in Kii in many situations is completely correct, but teammates will curse at you no matter what. Splitting and sniping is what I do many times in Kii, unfortunately thats what people see bad BB players do all the time. On the other hand though, the static BBs are more important to a defensive position. But a single flanking BB can have more impact than a single defensive BB. idk how to word myself about this, having a defensive line is more important than flanking, but if you have a defensive line then going to flank is a really good tie breaker/"win more" move. Then again a flank played badly can lose you the game, for example knowing when to do an "aggressive" or "passive" flank is key. In other words I think I could do well when flanking in Kii because I spent the majority of CW playing Henri playing it more or less the same way I played Kii.

Amagi and kii has such good firing angles it kinda outweighs the value of 6 guns bow thing, anyway I would play Amagi or Kii like NC or Monarch though. Kii and Amagi thrive on flanking and roaming

Dont forget that compared to Amagi, Kii also has .3 degrees worse turret traverse, Worse turret armor, Worse citadel protection, 0.5 km worse range, worse secondaries, lower top speed, worse turning circle, slower turning, 0,5km worse concealment, Ship sits higher in water/bigger target, no torpedo belt that extends above main belt (eg takes more HE damage) and ofc the fact that Amagi has 16% better torpedo damage reduction, not only that but Amagis torpedo bulges extend further forward than Kii's. So while yes Kii has the AA to play more outside big AA bubbles, Amagi was already compensated by better TDS and agility which is the main danger of plane strikes. Anyways when operating alone all the pros that Amagi has outweighs the very situational torps and AA. Also when it comes to brawling Amagi is a much better platform than Kii, to the extend that it almost outweighs the torps in knife fights. In Kii when torping you have to expect 30-40k damage when doing a pass, but Amagi you can easily escape with only 10-20k. That alone outweighs the 3 torps that barely do any damage (especially to BBs with good TDS). The fact is that in 9/10 games Amagi is just straight up better than Kii. Now to compare Kii/Amagi to Tirpitz/Bismarck and Alabama/NC. As you can clearly see Kii just trades all of these stats that have an effect on each and every game for 2 very situational gimmicks. In Bismarck and Tirpitz' case you can see that Tirpitz trades AA and Hydro for the torpedoes... yes it trades a gimmick for another gimmick. In Alabama and NCs case you see that Alabama trades some accuracy, health and AA for better turning circle, TDS and rudder shift.. again it trades practical stats for other practical stats. So trading practical stats for practical stats was successful, and trading gimmicks for gimmicks was a success, but trading practical stats for gimmicks just doesnt translate well and makes for a frustrating ship to play, when you have that other ship in the back of your mind.

Kii has arguably better HE spam than Monarch. Monarch has the RN dispersion patter (which is bad at firing at angled targets) plus Monarch has pretty weak HE compared to KGV and Lion for example. Only thing Monarch has over Kii in this regard is 1/4 HE pen rule but there isnt really any notable thresholds that make a difference, plus you should still use AP at cruisers haha So if you cant manage to get those 6-12k AP salvoes on angled BBs you can always use HE and get more consistent damage. Also in games where there is 0-1 cruiser and the rest are BBs/DDs you can just load HE and use that most of the games. Again this isnt something Kii does better than Amagi haha, just better than the other nations.

So 50% worse normal and free XP, and without the 20% credit bonus. Just as good at commander training at least. Well good thing it has the 50% service reduction.

Hi :p Kii gets away with "squishy armor" because your biggest threat to your broadside is BBs, and they are usually locked in static positions during ranked so you can manage that with enough planning and map awareness. On the other hand though the fact that Kii is covered with 32mm plating makes her super squish to HE spam from cruisers. A few times I made the mistake of underestimating Kutuzovs and Atagos, often shredding me in a few volleys. Then again Kii gets away with this in Ranked since cruisers are rather few and too far between to pose a real threat. Also its not like cruisers can push up wherever so often you can still play around it though. This is true, Kii has worse turning circle, rudder AND degrees turn per second is worse. As well as the 10 thousands other weaknesses she has. In ranked having the torps gives you a big advantage over any BB (except for Tirpitz) threatening to push and torp rush them if they are alone/not kiting correctly. This is yet another advantage that is only really relevant in Ranked as the 7v7 matches makes the game much more predictable and less prone to getting effed over by a stray ship that you have no way of keeping control over in a 12v12 match. Another strength that Kii has that makes her good for Ranked is the IJN dispersion pattern (bad vertical, but good horizontal dispersion). It is better than any other nation when it comes to shooting angled targets despite Kii's lack of good sigma. Once I got the aim down in the first few battles, I was able to reliably hit 6-12k volleys on just about any enemy BB despite them angling correctly. So where every other nation is better when shooting broadside targets, Kii is exponentially better when it comes to whittle down angled BBs in static positions. OFC this is nothing Amagi does worse, but its at least something Kii does better than BBs from other nations. On a serious note though I finished this ranked season at rank 1 with a 71% WR in Kii over the course of 72 battles most of those in rank 5-2. So she can definitely pull her weight in a more predictable game mode, but when I took her out in Randoms it was obvious she just lags behind the competition in the bigger matches. So I still find Kii way to weak especially when we have Amagi which outperforms her in every practical way.

This is highly unlikely as ships in the game has their health calculated from their tonnage at (usually) full load. Only very few ships has a different HP total than what their tonnage would imply. I checked the US cruisers currently ingame and only Cleveland has a small amount less HP than its displacement would imply. So the only health total that will change (most likely) is Cleveland getting a slightly higher pool after its arrival at tier 8.

So what are the stats for the camo?

Discussion thread for "some interesting info around the world"

idk why they wanna nerf French secondaries tbh it only looks to me like now everyone will misunderstand the playstyle of high tier frenchies. Looking at Notsers review it seems he believes it should sit at mid-long range and use speed to hold that position or something... while to me it seems that French BBs should be one of the more aggressive BB lines along with KM BBs, although being aggressive in two very different ways. Keeping the long secondary range would only promote more active pushing/flanking with the French, now it seems the most intuitive use of the speed boost to most players will be to kite and keep at range rather than to push for aggressive positions and flanking... wrong move in every way tbh. Just like the CQ nerf, it only promotes to stay even further back to HE spam, rather than to be aggressive. edit: not saying CQ shouldnt be nerfed, but saying that it was the absolutely worst way to nerf it considering the current meta AND what players want from the game. -
Any news about upcomming french battleships?

*Aims terribly* "Where did all the shells go?!" But yes the guns are mediocre accuracy wise... and that feels terrible when its only 8 guns with no bonus to RoF -

Thanks for the answer! Hmm kinda sad to see its intended to not affect the heal, as the way I see it the most intuitive and balanced answer would be that it should work... -

I just wanted to know if the lack of synergy between SE commander skill and the repair party consumables is intentional or if its a bug? Ran some tests in the training room ramming my Minotaur into poor Eries and found that my repair party only healed 20 784 HP instead of the 22 460 HP the consumable tool tip and my own calculations tried to indicate. I repeated it 4 times in the same training battle and got the exact same result all 4 times. So where is the 1680 HP that was promised me by the tooltip on my heal? ofc I was running dreadnought flag. I didnt take screenshots but will provide if needed. I think this is quite serious as on Minotaur I think having 70-84 extra HP per second when healing is a make or break when deciding if SE is worth it on the ship. With signal the 84 HP per second adds up to 1680 HP per full heal and theoretically 6720 HP if all 4 heals repair 100% dmg. To put that 1680 HP into perspective that alone equals 3.8% of a stock Minotaur's full health. Thats almost 4% of a ships full health worth of misleading tool tips. I dont know what is bugged, the tooltip or SE skill.. or both. What I do know is that this is a misleading tool tip that needs to be fixed. Im sure theres at least 4 Khabarovsk captains that believe that their repair party and SE has synergy. -
Gascogne doesnt have any stock hulls or modules, so yes its a premium. Richelieu is listed with stock modules so itll be tech tree. The HE is meh, its good for a BB, but nowhere close to RN BB. They dont have 1/4 HE pen rule afaik

If playing like that in divs then sure, I find the room to maneuver to be more than enough already.

Im really hoping it perform that way when they "fix" it. That would both be the most intuitive way AND a way to make the skill more relevant for cruisers (and heal DDs ofc) -

I think SE on Minotaur is arguably still worth even without the extra synergy from heals. Just the 8.1% is enough for me -
