RN CLs have smoke, engine, heal and torps, yet they have autobounce. I think autobounce for USN CLs is more or less bound to happen with how implies how "bad" the ballistics are

Stalingrad confirmed tier 10 cruiser, lets review what we know
Affeks replied to Affeks's topic in General Discussion
I was looking at the official pictures of Stalingrad and: I hope Stalingrad wont have access to def AA, but if it has access to Radar I wouldn't mind actually. What are youre guys' opinion on Radar on Stalingrad?- 128 replies

155s every time. even if you dont have IFHE using 155 is better against most other targets. It can still pen 25mm even without IFHE so if you meet tier 6-7 BBs or tier 8-9 cruisers you can chew through them regardless

You guys missed the whole point. I said in my post: and Which clearly indicate that I'm implying WG will compensate Dallas with different mechanics, consumables or gimmicks to compensate for the removal of 4 guns. Right now Cleve doesnt really tick any box on the "US cruiser gimmick list" like high RoF or Autobounce angles". These are two things that are sure to be implemented in most if not all the new US CLs. What Im saying is: Add autobounce angles and/or other gimmicks to Dallas = 8 guns Keep Cleves artificially nerfed RoF, turret rotation, ricochet angles = 12 guns Maybe I worded myself badly by writing "auxiliary roles".. I shouldve written "auxiliary ship strengths". I clearly said that Cleve is a raw power kinda ship, implying that WG maybe wants to send Dallas and CLs into the direction of Sneaky, agile and versatile ships just like Leander and Duca.

Stalingrad confirmed tier 10 cruiser, lets review what we know
Affeks replied to Affeks's topic in General Discussion
In the video they talk about a deviation in displacement of about 400 tons. That basically translates to plus/minus a couple thousand HP to my HP calculation. Also it looks like the ship will be ready in not too long. Maybe even before CW season 3 ends.- 128 replies

My guess is 4x2 Remember this is going to compete with Leander and Duca which both have 8 guns, not to mention Le gali that has 9 guns with slow reload (9 sec) and even Huang He that has only 6 guns. The rest of the US CLs will also compete and be compared to RN CLs so my guess is WG will maybe give USN CLs the improved autobounce angles as well. From what we know USN CLs will have Hydro and Def AA in seperate slots which is another tick in the direction that 4x3 is just too much on tier 6. I think WG has underestimated how effective 6" guns are and have realized it some time ago since they havent released any new 4x3 cruisers on tier 6. Even the 3x3 cruisers that has been introduced after Budyonny has even more than 8 sec reloads. I think WG wants to distance themselves from putting CLs with high gun count that far down. Pushing them for more auxiliary roles rather than DPM monsters that Cleve is. While I do agree that going from 4x2 - 5x3 is a big jump, there is no denying that Helena will have much worse soft stats across the board to compensate. Helena and the Brooklyn class will always be a black horse compared to the usual US ships, so Ive seen the awkwardness Helena poses long ago. No matter how I try to put it, the ship has to be balanced as a single entity, while the rest of the USN CLs can be balanced according to the rest of the line and their contemporaries.

Once you get the smoke positioning right it is by far the easiest cruisers to play at tier 10. Of course its tons of fun in Random games as well. The smoke gives you so much freedom no other cruiser has at that tier.

Doesnt seem like WG has something coming out anytime soon But Im hoping for Japanese Super A class Cruiser/B65 or Alaska, both really good tier 9 cruiser candidates now that we know Stalingrad is coming as a tier 10 reward ship.

Yup its better at everything except turret armor. The better turret armor (and much better looks) is really not enough to compete with the 419s on any level. Personally I wish they removed the 419s on CQ and just rolled with some slightly buffed 457s.

suggestion Give french BBs an alternative to Speed Boost consumable
Affeks replied to majogl's topic in General Discussion
and without the concealment. on the other hand tho the 431mm guns are much MUCH better than the 457s. Much better pen, better dispersion pattern, higher RoF, better Muzzle velocity, better air drag for the shells, better turret traverse, better AA and ofc speed boost. If not for the 419s on CQ then France and CQ would be pretty much as good as each other -
Havent had this good of a laugh in a while OC good post I agree, but two posts here just cracked me up too much.

oh my god pls no I cant take this thread serious now -
I think the concept of a best tier 10 Cruiser is not correct right now. All tier 10s fill a niche atm and does their thing better than the others. However the most allround ship is Hburg by far. It has the perfect balance of all aspects needed on a cruiser. Its just the ship that will never fail you unless played completely garbage. Its also maybe the most noob friendly tier 10 while still keeping a fairly high skill ceiling due to its high AP DPM, Decent alpha and Hydro. OFC this is balanced by its super slow top speed, lack of radar and mediocre concealment. atm I have all the tier 10 cruisers save for DM and I play them all with a big smile on my face every game. I think Henri is by far the worst of them for random battles due to its lacking direct impact (no radar, no upgraded hydro or the DPM/stealth to play too aggressive), but Henri was my by far favorite cruiser in the last season of CW believe it or not. It took her a while to work, but she filled a role no other ship could do and it seemed even top clans wasn't able to play reliably around it.

Roma - Tier VIII Premium Italian BB suggestion
Affeks replied to ImperialAdmiral's topic in Battleships
Yup had one of those yesterday. Triple citadel on Fuso a good range away and triple citadel on Dunkerque on medium range the next volley. How I ended the game. Yet most games I struggle to get close to 100k due to the dispersion. Still tho I find the best thing about this ship by far is the armor. I can consistently get 2-4 mill of potential damage. With this I find Roma to be one of the best BBs to uptier in actually. -
Survivability Expert? Better than its reputation! (Numbercrunching)
Affeks replied to Jagod's topic in Cruisers
Sorry to break it to you, but DoY gets heal, one less charge than normal BBs however but a heal nonetheless. It was changed just before release. DoY changed back to a normal boring BB. Basically a weaker KGV in my opinion. Still good ship tho -

Affeks replied to Jagod's topic in Cruisers
I would never run it on any BB. All BBs have a lot more HP. DoY has 60 500 right and on tier 7 you only get 2450 hp from SE. This is equal to no more than 4% more HP, and thats not taking the heals into account. On BBs you are much better off with FP and BoS along with the standard ones like CE, SI, AR and EM (last one is very needed on slow turreted ships like DoY). -

Affeks replied to Jagod's topic in Cruisers
Ive been using SE on my Zao, Mino and NO lately (planning to use SE on DM and Worcester when I get to them) and I have liked it quite a bit in fact. Ive been seeing a lot of CVs lately so I might switch out SE on some of them for AFT or Manual AA. Im still a long way from putting SE anywhere near top tier, but its a nice pick up for the last few skillpoints if you already have a 19 point captain. -
Alabama is the objectively more competitive one, but Tirpitz is much more noob friendly.

So according to dev diaries video it seems France has a rotating funnel intended to keep smoke away from FCS i guess. So i guess in game it follows where the guns are aiming like other FCS systems? Also what actual would this have irl? Are there some actual built ships that had this? I must say its kind of a nice touch if it actually works ingame.

Actually the more I think about it, If they were to give Kii better torps I would be fine with her. 8-10 km would be nice

Japan the great torpedo flavored nation am i right guys? Of course this is not taking into account that Kii also has much worse firing angles for her torps... also the damage difference is only 900... its not even 1k. Basically the difference in damage per torp is equal to 450 on saturated bows or sterns and in practice around 600 for BB torpedo belts. With Kiis shitty detection range on torps you can forget about hitting DDs or Cruisers unless they are literally 1 km away from you

Apparently the new "Clan Wars" Season II is coming very soon...
Affeks replied to Leo_Apollo11's topic in General Discussion
oh god please give me some breathing room before starting another season come on... -
Concealment/survivability is the way to go man. Yamato is a super static ship so you need the survivability and since Yamato has a very high citadel she needs all the concealment she can get to safely turn without getting 20-30K salvoes hitting you. This build is something you can use on any BB and be sure itll help you immensly. When in doubt in the future go for these skills/modules. Ofc if the turret traverse is good you can change out EM for something else. Also the choice between Auxiliary or Main armaments mod 1 is completely up to preference. Auxiliary is slightly better on Secondary heavy/AA heavy BBs, but imo not worth on Yamato.

I find it very awkward that Hindenburg has 105 L/65 Dop. L. C/31 DP guns, and for more than one reason. 1. Having the same DP gun from tier 7-10 is kinda lame. 2. GK has 128s while earlier ships in the line has 105, so it would be obvious that Hburg should follow the same progression 3. the 105mms has 4.5km AA range while the 55mm L/77 Gerät 58 has 5km AA range despite being a much smaller gun. While I dont mind that, it makes it awkward when both are on the same ship. 4. The 128mm guns wouldnt make Hburg OP, replacing the 105 mounts 1 for 1 then the dps would go down from 133 dps to 99 dps, but ofc its offset by the 99dps having 5.2km range instead of 4.5km. Therefore the tradeoff in AA power is more or less balanced and wouldnt make the AA stronger or weaker by any means. 5. Having 128mm guns would make a secondary build on Hburg usable, while I dont expect it to be competitive by any means it would give players more room to play with different builds. 6. Roon has technically better secondary power than Hburg, so in that regard Hburg is not following a correct progression. Am I the only one that finds the lack of 128s on Hburg weird? My guess as to why it doesnt have them is because WG didnt model the 128mm mounts untill Gneisenau and GK was introduced in the KM BB tech tree a while later. If German cruisers were made after German BBs I would expect Hburg to have the 128mms.
