You grind in order to learn how to play the game. It has a lot of depth. Your current stats suggest that you play relatively poorly. When you are in the screen that displays other training rooms look at the bottom right corner, button "Create Battle". This to be done by one person only. Next screen allows to choose the map and battle type, duration, number of player and so on. Here you should check the option "make this training room private" and choose a password. Then click "create". Afterwards everybody else can search for the player's name in the list of training rooms ("Creator" and a sign of a magnifying glass), select it and join by typing in the password.

I still don't understand why the current way of getting LUs has to be changed. You get a T10 ship, you get the mission, you have to play exactly that particular ship in order to progress through the mission, you get the upgrade in the end. It all made perfect sense to me.
