Who thought double CV games at t8 is fun?
Johnny_Moneto replied to Jaki_AJK's topic in General Discussion
<replays> <dirPath>replays</dirPath> <pathBase>CWD</pathBase> <versioned>false</versioned> <maxReplaysToSave>3000</maxReplaysToSave> </replays> The above section you can find in the file "engine_config.xml" in the game subfolder \res. I already changed the amount of replays to 3000. Can be edited with Notepad. Make a safety copy if you are uncertain. -
So, the blind buy is already settled then because now you are thrwoing out the next objection? Good. What we will have in the future is actually what we had in the past already. Ships are presented to the broad public a week or so before release. The game actually went downhill during the time when CCs were allowed to show new ships well in advance in an much earlier development state. However, I do not think there is any correlation between the CCs showing ships early and us getting ships like Worcester (especially in its original release config!), Harugumo, Smolensk, Stalingrad, Kremlin et al. All these unfun-to-play-against ships were reeleased during the phase when CCs were allowed to show them early. Remember? Did that help us in any way? I dare say no.

CV tier 6 - decision making guide
Johnny_Moneto replied to Johnny_Moneto's topic in Aircraft Carriers
As kind of promised in the first video I made another one, same general concept but a tier 8 battle. https://youtu.be/9s120z60kWU I wish I could showcase a battle with more tier 8 ships, kindly thank WG for resetting the amount of max replays to 30 with each update (no matter how small it is). -
Hi folks, as I found several people having issues with decision making when playing CVs at tier 6 I made a little video to provide some help. I focus on reading the battle on the minimap so that you get an idea which targets to tackle. How to drop, how to approach targets is expected to be known and is not covered in this vid. Hope it helps some of you. Apologies for the bad sound level mixing. https://youtu.be/T9F-BwXQei0

Than don't buy! Simple. Wait another week until all reviews are finished, then make up your mind. What is so bloody hard about that? Don't tell me your life depends on getting a premium ship one week earlier.

From monitoring karma during my own battles: roughly 80% of players have zero karma; 10% have 1 to 9 karma; 10% have anything above 9 karma. Furthermore good and friendly players seem always to have higher karma. Every player gets reported sooner or later but good and friendly players get more compliments than reports. I guess you could say, the better you play and the more friendly you are at the same time, the higher your karma. Popularity as a CC is another boost of course, but CCs will also get reported often in case they "dare" to state an honest opinion. If your karma is at zero, there always seems to be an explanation which has to do with not being skillful and friendly at the same time. At least from my observation over the past two months. Then again, karma officially has no effect (yes it does, see my previous post ).
-
Aaaahhhh, you know that that is not true. Positive karma gives you (a) smaller lanes at supermarket check -out (b) less sweaty feet (c) flowers will blossom brighter (d) better match making (e) better chances to find money on the street rather than losing some (f) better tasting salad or steak, depending on whether you are a vegetarian or not Come on, you know it, don't deny it.

I guess you were the only DD on your team? In that case you can only stay back even more. At the start of the battle turn around and hide behind your mates. Unlimited planes, kind of. A carrier does not always have all planes available all the times. If your mates can shoot down a couple of waves of rocket planes it will take the CVs a long time to replenish those. A Lexington has 16 rocket planes and can produce 19 more throughout the battle (that's a max, in reality it will be less), each new plane taking 1 minute to fabricate. Again, I don't say it is fun. I just say in a 2-CV-game you gotta change your mindset drastically when playing DD. Basically you go in full survival mode. -

1. Nobody thinks it is fun. (Except for grown-ups who also beat little children which gives them a feeling of superiority.) 2. If you end up in such game, stay with your AA ships and let the CVs bleed a few of these planes before venturing towards a cap. Best idea, of course, would be that several ships move together towards aa cap so that you have AA protection while capping. However, we all know that many teammates will fail. 3. Use your smoke. If you lasted only 1:52 you did not use your smoke (or rushed into a hydro DD or a radar ship, both equally poor). 4. Coming back to point 1: Nobody from the player base thinks it is fun. -
El2aZer was kind enough to cover also this:

Bye and thanks for the good times
Johnny_Moneto replied to annoyedgrunt's topic in General Discussion
Final? No, I agree. What I don't expect to change anymore are the concepts of batteries and sonar and the 3 depths system. But we will see. -

You mean submarines? Having seen how WG worked in the past, I assume that the general idea of how subs work are fixed. In the previous test stage they explored different ideas for subs, like oxygen levels, different depths. Now, I think, they are at a stage where they tweak the values of parameters, like torpedo reload time. We might see more of that for 0.9.5 PTS. But I don't expect to see fundamental changed e.g. battery will get dropped for oxygen. Given the above I really would like to know if WG plan on giving French and German CL depth charges, too. -
I am sorry but it looks like you got it sorted out wrong and @Starchy_Tuber got it right. If he is in games testing for 20 years (don't know whether that is true) then he knows what he is talking about. I have been working for a few years in Project Management in a non-gaming software company and even I have some idea how to test this stuff. Additionally you did not quite get that one, either. No offense.

I'd like to address just this one point. May I recall for everybody that before the introduction of Stalingrad there was not a single Russian OP ship in the game. Khaba was close to being OP at her peak but got hit by the nerf hammer so hard as if she was a German ship. After that and this includes release of Kronshtadt, all Russian ships were balanced quite well (and still are). Every Russian ship released since Stalingrad, however, looks a bit like trying to put a new light on history. Wtih Germans (complaining every day "our ships should be stronger") and Japanese (girl warship anime manga weeb) I usually say they still try to win the war but Russians...? Maybe they want to win the war harder?
-
You say crap hit the fan after/with the release, I say crap hit the fan after/with the release. We were saying the same. Yet I don't have a good short term memory? Maybe I have better reading skills, don't know.
-
So, it is not ok to showcase the ships during the "we try to find the correct balance" phase but it is also not ok to showcase the ships when the balancing is finished. Guess WG cannot win this either way.
-
Your example is contradicting your statement. With Puerto Rico it looked like it was a good idea to get the Puerto Rico as she is a solidly (not OP) strong ship. It was only after the release (of the ship as well as of the directives) that all went down the drain. It had been the same result with the old CC program as well as with the new one. BTW, governments and democracy: You can freely choose whether you want to play this game or not. If you don't like it, move on. With citizenship and governments that is not so easy to do. You are born to a country and many people on this planet don't even have the choice to become a citizen of a country the deem to be better, So that is just a poor comparison.

[TOOL] A program to collect and analyze personal farm of exp and credits
Johnny_Moneto replied to qMBQx8GH_eu's topic in Other Mods and Programs
Look at your Windows Anti Virus settings. It removes the .exe to quarintine. I had to tell it to not touch this file. -
Go to your WoWs games replay folder, possibly C:\Games\World_of_Warships\replays Pick one of the replay files (with the problem) and attach to your next message here. The suffix should be .wowsreplay and the file should be 1 to 3 MB in size.

Moderator, please move this any thread in the PTS section.

What also should be fixed asap are ghost shells. Shells that go through an island and fly through enemy ships. Another example of "what you see ain't what you get". -

The delayed damage when getting dropped by a CV does not fit your description, though. I get that in co-op when being dropped by a CV bot. -
Oh boy, you are so right
