Sorry we don't accept request in general, but you may say which kind of skin do you prefer, I will think about it. In fact our group is now running in a very low efficiency state. Five years ago, most of us were student; but now many people have their job so not much time to spend on games, that's why Fabaji and chaingwAw took one year or even two to make one mod. I'm currently on my last year of PhD and I'm yet struggling to finish my thesis in time. I had made a to-do list last year, with a Yoshino skin on it. There is already a ton of delay, but I can't tell you when can I proceed with it...

Update for 0.11.5.0 : The lod-fix and MP-fix scripts are no longer needed. As many people asked, I made a short walkthrough about how to make a valid PnF skin mod in 0.10.3 I - Preparation Requirement: Python 3 (Please note that it's not obligatory to have the latest version. e.g. if you already have python 3.8 installed, there's no need to upgrade to 3.9 or 3.11) Download : Download Python | Python.org If it's the first time that you use python, please be sure that you have added python to path when installing it. It's an optional checkbox which is not selected by default: To check if Python is correctly installed: Right click on Windows button, open "Windows PowerShell", type python --version If it prints the version number, your python is OK. It also happens to some people that Windows doesn't allow executing scripts. In this case, right click on Windows button, open "Windows PowerShell (As administrator)", then type set-executionpolicy remotesigned and confirm (type Y or A after prompt). II - Part A : For those who don't need to modify any model 1. In WorldOfWarships/bin/[largest build number]/res_mods/, create a folder "PnFMods" and an empty text file "PnFModsLoader.py" 2. Take the latest ModsSDK_12.*.*.zip from https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/105LcgtmYH35Kpkmt0hdV32nvX5PYs5fh Create a folder called "ModsSDK.zip" in PnFMods/, extract "[Ship_ID]" inside. “Ship_ID” means the folder names in ModsSDK_0.11.*.0.zip, i.e. 3. Create a Main.py in PnFMods/ModsSDKExport/, write: API_VERSION = 'API_v1.0' contentSdk.extractSources('[Your_Mod_Name]', '[Ship_ID]') Example: If I want to make a mod called “Test_Mod” for the ship Langrey, I will write it like this: API_VERSION = 'API_v1.0' contentSdk.extractSources('Test_Mod', 'ASA104_Langley') 4. Run the game client, wait for the extraction. The game will get stuck at the logging screen. Use system monitor to force exit the game. (Keyboard shortcut: Ctrl+Shift+Esc) 5. Remove PnFMods/ModsSDKExport/Main.py Otherwise it will extract a mod (or overwrite the existing one) every time you launch the game, and you will never be able to login 6. Create a Main.py in PnFMods/[Your_Mod_Name]/, write: API_VERSION = 'API_v1.0' contentSdk.registerShipMod('[Ship_ID]') Note that this is not the same Main.py in step 3, despite the same filename. 7. In the subfolders there are some .model files, with or without "_lod*" postfix. For each .model file which doesn't have lod postfix, find the .geometry file that has exactly the same filename as the .model, and put it beside the .model file. The .geometry files can be obtained by extracting the game client. Fix paths in mfm files. Until now you should have a working mod. If something goes wrong, please check WorldOfWarships/profile/python.log for errors II - Part B : For those who want to make model modifications This procedure only works for ships implemented before 0.9.7 1. In WorldOfWarships/bin/[largest build number]/res_mods/, create a folder "PnFMods" and an empty text file "PnFModsLoader.py" 2. The .primitives files can be found here: Primitives Backup at SEA-group (github.com) This step requires strong attention and patience. Finally in each folder you'd have the same number of .primitives and .model files. 8. Fix paths in mfm files. 9. In the "Modder" Google Drive folder, you can find a file called "wows_geometrypack.zip", it's a .primitives to .geometry conversion tool. Double click on "run-gui.bat" to run it, it may generate .geometry files in a different folder depending on the output path that you have selected. Copy those geometry files into your mod. Until now if you're lucky you can have a working mod. If something goes wrong, please check WorldOfWarships/profile/python.log for errors As for now, models in .primitives format are modifiable through ShadowyBandit's Blender Plug-in. You can modify the .primitives then convert them into .geometry format. I've got some people reported that the said Blender plug-in didn't seem to be working with the latest Blender. If you have issue with it, you may try switch to Blender 2.8. Old versions of Blender download here : Index of /release/ (blender.org) An alternative model tool can be found on our GitHub page (中文版 | English version), it's modified from WoTModelMod made by Lotsbiss. This little tool basically allows you to export a part of the model and save in .obj format, and to load an .obj file to replace a part of the model. Whatever the method you use, you shall always make sure that you new model : - is triangularized - has valid normal - has valid uv map ... and by default, for each model part, the number of vertex combinations and the number of triangles shall be less than 65535. (Some index blocks which have "list32" type can support up to 65536^2-1 indices, but since you can not distinguish them from the tool's interface, I still suggest not to put large model into one part) III - Debugging (To be added) Archived old contentSDK : https://github.com/SEA-group/ContentSDK-backup IV - Read more... [Original post 2019.07.02] The main objective of this thread is to share everyone's knowledge and try to have a tool that help people to edit ship models. Introduction The content SDK is a good work of Wargaming. It gives us access to nearly every single file (models, textures, materials, and a lot of parameters) of a ship, but we only mod the textures in most of the cases - and that's a waste of the potential of the content SDK for sure. To release its full power, we need to have a model tool, which can be found nowhere in our days. Weeks ago, I get told by Tirpitz_1939(@Asia) the binary file structure of primitives format. Then I tried writing some codes in Matlab to read a primitives file, and it showed that this file structure is basically correct. Meanwhile, there are still something unclear in this structure, and I’m not good in programming Windows application. So I’d like to share with you what I know until now, we can have some brainstorming together, and help capable people to create the tool of dream. The file structure Our main dish is here: Some notes: 1. The unit of data length is byte. 2. When the length of a section is not an integer multiple of 4, there will be some empty bytes added to the end of the section, that make the length become a multiple of 4. For example, the first section starts by the 5th byte (because the first 4 bytes are unknown), the first section has 57 bytes, then the second section should start by the 5+60=65th byte instead of the 5+57=62nd byte. 3. The order of processing the file: You should start the processing from the last 4 bytes, which tell you the length of the “section name” section, then you go to the start byte of “section name” section, and so on… 4. All the strings are standard ACSII char arrays, just convert them byte by byte. 5. All the numerical data are in little-endian order 6. As you may have noticed, the “normal” attribute should have 3 floats, but there’s only 4 bytes for each normal. I don’t really understand how did WG stock 3 floats in 4 bytes, but here is a python code that allows you to get these 3 floats: 7. The section type could be “*.vertices”, “*.indices”, “*.armor” and “*.cmodl”. This is the case of WoWS, I don’t know what would happen in WoT or WoWP. A pair of vertices and indices could form a standard ship model part; the armor is a armor model; the cmodl however, I don’t know what it is. The armor models Guns’ “armor” type parts can be found directly in their lod0 primitives; ships’ armors are stocked in the primitives file without segment postfix in the filename. I make this specific paragraph about the armors, because they only have vertices, you can’t find any “indices” about them. Here is a xyzn vertices table of a certain part of armor on the old Yamato: There are many identical vertices, so, in fact, you just take every 3 points in order, you put them together, and you get the triangle. It’s logical. As to the normals, I doubt what they are, because if you consider them as normal you will get a very very strange surface, like this: Model file format We used to have some model tools that export models in obj format, when I used them to replace models, sometimes the normal texture didn’t work as intended. When I see this primitives file structure, I understand that it’s because of the lack of tangent and binormal. These are 2 necessary attributes to define a tangent space, but obj format does not support them. So this time, if we make a new tool, we should consider to use another 3D file format that supports tangent and binormal. For example, the FBX.
