How does RNG, range and dispersion _exactly_ work?
Aerroon replied to havaduck's topic in General Discussion
I wanted to know too, so far I don't think anybody really knows. But we are all fairly certain that dispersion does not scale linearly with distance. -
Why does Wargaming allow 12 Players at tier 10 destroy fun for the Rest of People ?
Aerroon replied to TLG_'s topic in General Discussion
Yes and no. Yes in the sense that they did rush and did eventually gain an advantage but you also have to look at the other side. They were the players who got 40 exp flags and spammed all of them. Then they also used the 10 flags they gained per day. On top of that they played a huge amount of games. Gorgutzer, for instance, has over 800 games played by now after the wipe. On top of even that they were all excellent players during closed beta already. Also, your average experience in a New Mexico is low because it's a bad ship. Yes, you can argue about it but it's a fact that she's slow as hell. This means that you're going to end up at much lower average experience as you spend a good 6+ minutes in almost every battle sailing empty, since she's slow and her maximum range caps out at 17km (sure with scout you can have more but it's still meh). So even if you were good at playing BBs, US BBs before tier 8 still would give you way lower experience gain because the ships are so slow from moving fight to fight. For instance, my average xp in New Mexico is only 1800ish, yet I have a 75% winrate with it (18W, 6L). The reason is that I just can't get into range in ways where I wouldn't die easily. New York is actually a tiny bit better in that regard because her maximum range is ~1km higher. She has less guns though with worse angling on them so New Mexico still wins out, but yeah. -
I don't see how destroyers sucking makes them difficult to play. They just suck, it's just guesswork and RNG. Maybe the fast aiming while dodging could be considered really skillful though.

How to enable replays and play them back:
-
Thank you, that works pretty nicely. It just has two problems still: no sound when game is in the background (very bad) and the mouse isn't constrained to the window.

+1. I can't even blame my team in a lot of those matches because it's the enemy team that isn't capping/decapping, even though they aren't losing to us in fights themselves. It makes the games really boring, especially in some of these slow [edited]ships since all you can do for the first 4 minutes of the game is sail in a straight line while alt tabbed. But because this game does NOT have borderless windowed mode I can't alt tab while recording a video.

What ships do you not want to see in future patches?
Aerroon replied to Killed_chicken96_the_2nd's topic in General Discussion
Nevermind, I read wrong. I don't have any ships I don't want to see in the game. -
I recommend giving this a read too: http://forum.worldofwarships.eu/index.php?/topic/14258-basics-spotting-mechanics/ No, actually, I don't recommend it. It should be a REQUIREMENT to have read it.

How long does it take to fix the broken MM for CVs?
Aerroon replied to 22cm's topic in General Discussion
Which might be never. Remember, higher tiers are supposed to not make money. The whole system is designed to have people playing at the "mid tiers" as well. I can't even imagine how many players this game would need to ensure that a tier 10 CV gets placed against another tier 10 CV in less than 5 minutes every time. Right now, at night, you can still get 1vs1 and 1vs2 matches at higher tiers because the 5 minutes run out. -
Nope, I didn't. I was just listening to music and playing and at the time I hadn't figured out how to exclude certain audio sources from recording so I wasn't recording at all. And replays were desynced as hell back then on carriers, which made them essentially unwatchable and they don't work anymore.

What would a 356mm+ armor piercing shell really do to a destroyer?
Aerroon replied to Remi_Drexel's topic in Age of Armour Warships
Well, on a Montana each shell that hits deals something like 1300 damage if it overpenetrates. The Montana fires 12 of them at once so if all 12 hit a destroyer the destroyer's pretty much dead even if it's AP. -
I got it once in this game: Suffice to say that I slaughtered them.

[Guide] Manual Dive Bomber Drops:

When do you think the mm will be fixed Wargaming
Aerroon replied to NGC227's topic in General Discussion
People will always be grinding up the tiers. In CBT it was the exact same thing yet people had MONTHS to grind it up. What do you propose they do? Stop playing for a year until enough scrubs have got high tier enough since the experience gain is even worse now? -
You get "instant killed" by carriers? How?
-
US carriers get their main strength at tier 8 and become excellent at tier 9 and 10. You use dive bombers currently for their fire: do a strike with torpedo bombers and since they usually won't kill the target you wait until the target has uses their repair for the flooding. Once they do so wait another 15 seconds and then do a dive bomber attack, hopefully setting them on fire. This time they won't have repair available so the fire damage would do considerable amount of damage. The reason you have to wait after they use repair is that on a battleship Damage Control Party stays active for a maximum of 20 seconds, during which no module damage nor fire or flooding sticks - it gets immediately repaired. Doing manual dive bombing is not the most useful thing - while it is better than automatic drops it really doesn't improve it by a whole lot. Whereas a miss will cause them to be much worse. But if you want to do manual dive bombings I recommend watching some of my carrier play since I usually do manual dive bomber attacks (especially the more recent ones). But all in all, if you can't hit with manual dive bombing drops they usually aren't worth it.

Get the range upgrade module and the range upgrade. Easy.
-
Nice. Now please tell me how to reproduce that as it would be awesome for taking nice images. I had to switch to 4k resolution so I could crop out the stuff around the ship just to take screenshots. Tell me your secret.

What are your "keepers" (per tier/class) ?
Aerroon replied to Elkerlyc's topic in General Discussion
Hakuryuu, Midway, Yamato, Montana, Zao, Des Moines, Shimakaze, Gearing. Maybe Cleveland, Amagi, Fusou and Minekaze as well. -
I'm glad it was useful to you.
