I would think that if you have players that even want to retrain an 18+ skill point captain you would want to hold on to those players with both hands because they are probably one of the more experienced ones. I guess you could also treat them as cash cows and hope for the best.

If you're not afraid of the enemy killing you you can send them with your bombers, but if there's a chance of him outright killing you then you should probably hold them back to defend your allies and yourself. Iowa - Bad Luck or Bad Aim?

I'd use a press account to play destroyers, because they are too expensive (credits-wise) to play normally at high tiers. But I agree, having them on live, just like during gamescom was kind of a bad deal since you could just get people who do nothing. However, a few times I have seen press accounts that played maybe not that well, but at least decently.
