It's not the T10 games that are the problem here. Go play ranked and you'll notice that at the highest ranks this kind of "camping behavior" is turned to the extreme. It happens far more. Do you consider the vast majority in the highest tier of ranked battles to be "inexperienced"? Probably not. You see, the issue isn't with T10 games, it's with the lower tier games. The players being inexperienced is why in the lower tiers people rush in and the game opens up. At T10 people tend to be somewhat wiser and they're just less likely to do so. Yes, there absolutely are times when you should push. And sometimes people in T10 do that, most often they just miss it (although often it's the tier 8s around the T10 that miss it). But that behavior is there with the lower tiers too - you just have more people that go "[edited]it, I'm rushing in and dying".

Because what you said is factually incorrect. Atlanta has poor stats and has always had poor stats. It has never been "at/near the top". Even in ranked she was one of the bottom performing ships. If you think what I'm saying is wrong then feel free to show me stats that say so, because I did look at stats and Atlanta is "all-time" 2nd from the bottom at tier 7. In fact, she's near the bottom across ALL tiers.

An AA specced Tirpitz (BFT + AFT + Manual AA) with the AA flag and AA range module puts out the following AA DPS: 370 @ 6.5km 24 @ 5.0km 101 @ 2.9km This is actually pretty respectable AA dps. It would beat a North Carolina that was not AA specced and it beats many of the equivalent level cruisers and even above when they're not using defensive fire. So if you spec for it then the AA tends to be good enough to defend you from air. Of course when your AA guns are broken then it's another situation, but then again, even a Montana or Des Moines with most of their AA guns broken would put out weak AA dps. However, the strength of the Tirpitz does not lie in its AA abilities, you get a very good armor model, decent guns and torpedoes instead.

And a Mahan goes from what? 14,100 HP to 16,900 HP. That's 20% higher survivability directly. It's a massive difference and the DD with it that's going to fight you is going to murder you.

Pick Survivability Expert on DDs. Surviving longer is absolutely amazing.

I would not listen to this advice. Just go ask around how many people who actually play CVs recommend CVs. Personally, I would go for Japanese cruisers or Japanese battleships. Both lines are fairly strong all around and culminate in pretty much the two strongest ships in the game. I recommend dabbling in all the lines though also don't get discouraged by the Kawachi and Myogi, the line gets quite a bit better later.

Getting the ships is easy. It's the 3x 15 point captain that's hard.

Let's revisit this once you're out of seal-clubbing territory with CVs.

No, it doesn't, because you'd be stupid not to use it. SA is the one skill you always want to have with no ifs, ands or buts.
