Also, sorry to burst your bubble, but: The Gneisenau is an inconsistent ship. She still has great games, she's just inconsistent at times.

It does. But BB and DD captains need to L2P. Well, technically, they would've needed to do that for a very long time. But instead they whined and cried so CVs got nerfed instead.

Because they're cruisers. Unless WG makes them blatantly OP in some way they're going to suffer from the same things cruisers are suffering from. Smoke deals with those, but since that's not an option it goes back to what they were. Battleships are just too deadly to cruisers with RNG.

This is not true. Or if it is then one salvo can incapacitate a turret and then hit it again. Either way, you can lose a turret in 1 shot. During testing my Kurfürst lost both frontal turrets to enemy Montana in one salvo when I used the secondary and anti air health module. Also, remember that MAM1 increases your turret's HP by 50%.
