(Poll) How much will you bid for 100k coal?
tuberCHIMPY replied to thiextar's topic in General Discussion
Your conversions make one essential assumption that isn't true. That any resource can be converted to any other resource freely at will like in a free market. While this is true for real life cash, silver in WoW is fairly useless. I have way more silver than I need and it's not much use to me. Coal however lets me buy ships. Coal is worth a lot more to me than silver. I don't disagree with your maths or numbers, but the fact I have a lot of useless silver and want coal means my valuation of coal is different to yours. -

Hindsight is great :) I didn't know how much a winning bid would be. If you invent a time machine please go back in time and tell me how much I should bid. I have a lot of credits left..... -

I had a winning bid. Putting the numbers out so people can collate info. It's always a bad idea to bid a round number in an actution like this. Many people bid round numbers. I looked at my credits decided how much I wanted to keep and bid the remainder. My winning bid was 263.252.223 so 263 million I value coal a lot more highly than credits, my credits just keep going up. I won't at all be unhappy if I found other winners got it much cheaper. 100K coal is roughly 100 days of playing until I've dropped two resource containers. -
UK player here, game used to be great and now it's unplayable Fine before the patches. Had just spent some money on a package too Even these forums have timeouts. Ping 92.223.21.38 -t results in a fairly regular stable ping in the high 25-30 which used to be consistent with my in game ping, but frequent regular packet drops I will get as many as 50-60 replies or as few as 8 replies before I get a single packet loss. But I always get packet loss it never goes away. It's always a single request timeout, never more than one at a time. If I ping work IPs at the same timne they do not have the packet loss at all, they ping away happily continuously. Using some tools the problem appears to be 92.223.112.163 - it has a 7% packet loss. Whilst 92.223.112.163 does not respond to pings - firewall or router? The previous device in the chain 78.152.62.186 has no issues. I can ping this continually with no loss. Whatever 92.223.112.163 is - it is broken and causing the lag to us UK players. reverse DNS name "ed-n5596up-fe-1-vl241.fe.core.pw" I assume the game servers are running at the same IP block and this device is also dropping game packets. I will get in game and check this now. Please fix!!!! Please!!! Edit for update. Whilst above is true for website, it's not true for game servers. Playing a game with hideous lag seems to point the finger at where two ISPs join. Everything up to and including 78.152.55.154 ( at least UK side of it anyway ) is ok. That device then connects to another network 92.223.112.190, from here on I'm seeing high packet loss. The first network is Hibernia Networks Netherlands BV The second network is G-Core Labs Luxembourg - this is where the WoW servers are hosted. Where those two networks meet to peer appears to me to be the source of the in game lag problem for Uk players. If players are blaming it on the patch, and it's not the patch, but a connection/routing issue, then that would explain why the devs are having issues trying to pin it down. Hope it helps you guys find the fault.

UK based mature player looking for clan. Currently play Jap destroyers Isokaze and Minekaze only. In random battles usually come either top or die in the first 30 seconds, worse is when I come middle, meh. Looking towards playing more team orientated. Want to both have a go at playing better but too old IRL to take it too seriously. Not a leader. Happy to follow orders. Looking for clan who use voice comms, mature(ish) behaviour, fun, with a bit of drive to try and play better together with fleet tactics etc... but without being too anal about it. Hate in random battles when people try and hide and avoid the fight, why are they even playing this game?
