  3. Hi all, Yesterday I had nice opportunity to be in same team as @cpt_stewie (from the "MDF" clan). I was in my "Yamato" and I decided to be very close to him almost the whole battle and I must say that it was very good combination... my devastating AP together with his "daka-daka" and we were unstoppable on our flank... Hi all, I have noticed several times that your most excellent "MxStat" sometimes doesn't read the log file (or possibly the log file appears empty and/or corrupt) - in other words the "MxStat"registers as if no battle occurred (but battles did happen)... Has anyone else noticed this as well? Would it be worth investigating the log files? Leo "Apollo11"

  7. Hi all, What is with all this "grapevine talk" about upcoming Tier X Russian BB "Pobeda" "/ Slava" - is there any official info? If you take a look at most excellent "WowS Fitting Tool" you can see her stats (in current WoWs v0.8.3.1 as "TEST Ship"): https://wowsft.com/ship?index=PRSB510&modules=1111&upgrades=000000&commander=PCW001&consumables=11&lang=en She has almost 25 km gun range with 1.9 Sigma and just 219m of dispersion...     Hi all, Yes... it is lower... about 3x lower.. and the prices are lower (about 3x times) as well (for new captain " Nikolay Kuznetsov " and "Murmansk") so that essentially stayed the same! But prices of ordinary crate is now essentially 3x-4x higher!!! The old "Soviet Era container" was just 30 "Allowance Tokens" and new "In the Service of the Motherland container" is 40 "Provision Tokens" ... Leo "Apollo11"
  11. Hi all, Reaching my usual goal of Ranked #10 in current 12th season... As usual when Tier X was in question I took out my good old "Yamato"... and, as always, she didn't disappoint... I was able to reach my goal in just 6 battles (1 defeat and 5 victories): 12th Ranked season observations: my very 1st game and only defeat had 4 rentals" in my team - it was "Epicenter" and they all died like clueless flies in first few minutes (when I did just 35K damage in "Yamato" you know how fast the game was over) in 3 out of 6 games (all victories) there was CV in game - both sides were competent enough and although CV played significant role in battle it wasn't the "decisive" (i.e. ship that exclusively brought victory to the team) ship in any of those 3 wins in 2 games there were 0 destroyers present (and incidentally there were no CVs present as well) - those games with BBs and CLs/CAs were very interesting 5 games (1 defeat and 4 victories) ended very quickly and there was just 1 "nailbiter" that was see-saw till the very end Conclusion: My biggest complain about 12th Ranked season is the introduction of the so-called "rental" ships! After I had my first game and defeat (with 4 "rentals" in my team) I told myself "Oh boy... this one will be the worst one ever" - but luckily I had "rental" ships in only that one losing battle... Enemy had them in all 5 of the rest (that I won) and they were the very first ones we concentrated on - I saw just 1 (one) competent player in "rental" ship (it was the "nailbiter above). Rental ships are clueless in almost all cases... rushing forward and dying at the start of the game... not knowing the tactics and strategy needed to play such Tier X ship... I simply loved having "rental" BBs and CLs/CAs showing full broadside to my "Yamato" with "Legendary Module"... it was like shooting fish in the barrel... IMHO it is 100% unmitigated disaster of decision! Leo "Apollo11"
  12. Hi all, I see your point and I also agree that "Ranked Sprint" is the best way to introduce the "Ranked" concept to all players! But I really really don't think that "Ranked" Tier X with "rental" ships is good way for players to "learn the ropes" in the first place... most of them will simple be "dead weight" and that is something noone wants in higly competitive environment (which "Ranked" certainly is)...   13. Hi all, I wholeheartedly agree... the ability of a team to throw away a winning game is away a possibility due to "teammates"... But, still, if you have competent CV on your team and enemy has incompetent CV the "rule of the thumb" is that they will lose in more cases than they will win because the CV skill discrepancy carries mighty weight...   14. Hi all, As always my only complaint when CVs are involved (bot new current ones and old RTS ones) is the skill discrepancy! If you have 30% WinRate CV (with overal 40% WInRate), 30K average damage in Tier X CV and 0.1. kills per game vs. "Purple Unicum" 60+% WinRate, 100.000+K average damage and 2 kills per game things are decided before the game even started...   15. Hi all, Confusion regarding upcoming v0.8.4 WoWs and CV changes - are dive bombers nerfed or buffed? According to official announcement: "Update 0.8.4: Soviet Battleships!" https://worldofwarships.eu/en/news/game-updates/update-084-soviet-battleships/ But if you watch the official video: At 03:30 you can see that dive bombers can now pull hard maneuvers during their attack run without the dispersion ellipse of their targeting reticle getting wider! So... are dive bombers nerfed or buffed? Will the DDs be safer or not? Leo "Apollo11"

    DDs are now so un-fun

    Hi all, I am conducting a "Social Experiment" with my "Z-23" these past 14+ days... I have long ago grinded her (and got Z-46) but I forgot to move the 19 point captain to new ship... so I told myself lets see how not-so-great German DD would fare in current extremely heavy CV meta... Here are my "results": The current (first quarter of 2019) "Z-23" averages are according to MapleSyrup: Average Damage = 25.213 Warships destroyed = 0.54 Airplanes destroyed = 0.41 WinRate = 48.64 So... in my 20 games I had 1 (one) game without CV and 19 games with CV/CVs. Most of the games were Tier X BTW. In all 16 defeats I had CV/CVs that were much inferior to enemy (you all know that sinking feeling when you realize that enemy CV/CVs is/are Unicum purple players with 60% WinRate, 100.000+ average damage and around 2 kills per game whilst your CV/CVs is/are 30% WinRate players with barely 30.000 average damage and 0.1 kills per game)... Conclusion? I don't have any except the long known fact that you can't carry in sub-par DD and that CVs rule the waves... Leo "Apollo11"
  20. Hi all, I saw @Saltface last night in his DD ("Grozovoi") - I was in my Z-23 and we won the game (albeit he died early on)... Leo "Apollo11" P.S. That was one of the very very few winning games... the rest (80%) were defeats... the CV skill discrepancy usually means certain defeat for the weaker side...

    Hi all, The "teams" these days are even worse than usual (if that is even possible)... one simply can't carry potatoes... And the CV in my "team"... dear Lord... sub 40% WinRate (30% WInRate in CVs)... 0.1 kills per game below 30K average damage in Tier VIII CV... 100% useless... Leo "Apollo11"

Hi all, As of today: 39x "Soviet Era Container" 1x "Premium Soviet Era Container" My 5th "Soviet Era Container" brought me Tier VV "Pyotr Velikiy" and my 17th "Soviet Era Container" brought me Tier VI "Izmail". Nothing since then (i.e. 22 containers after last mission didn't give any new missions)... it must be the "diminishing effect" of some sorts with Tier VII and Tier VIII very unlikely to be given... For example it is so much better to have: Player Panel with HP bars on the side of the screen - you can see at one glance the HP of friends and sighted foes (otherwise you have to visually scan all around you see the HP bars below each and every ship icon) Time until the game is over by CAPing (otherwise you have to manually calculate the time by calculating all the ticking points rates) Repair Party helper will tell you exactly when it is optimal to repair the ship in order not to waste the repair points Status of your secondaries / AA mounts at glance (without pressing "H") Ability to move "ribbons" to the side of the screen in order not to clutter the center (i.e. the most important part of the screen real-estate) Extended TechTree in port Better Carousel (with ability to see all mounted flags and modules at glance) in port IMHO the above MODs should really be in game by default... they are just "Quality of Life" improvements...
