Welp, time to bring out the Furry Taco again.

Sometime next year is my guess. I have very little faith in WG delivering on it this year tbh. Even WG says that if you believe that CVs are op you should l2p.

I was actually thinking more along the lines of big tournaments with independent sponsors, professional teams and prize money. In my mind the definition of a competitive scene in a video game has developed far beyond small tournaments with little significance and popularity. But yeah, from a certain point of view I indeed stand corrected.

Says earning CS is easy. Shows a game in which - he plays a Saipan - is top tier by miles - the enemy CVs are scrubs - friendly CV is a scrub, too (= more planes to farm) I get CS fairly regularly up to T7. At T8 it gets fairly rare and with T9 it happens once in a blue moon. And that's with CVs. I can't even remember the last time I got CS with any other class.

Honestly I'd be surprised if they wouldn't ban all premiums if there were a competitive scene. Then again it is WG...

I thought there is already a reward system in place regarding Karma. Only on the RU server tho, because obviously we filthy capitalists don't deserve such things. (Just checked and I'm surprised to say that I'm sitting at 357 Karma. Weird considering I nowadays mostly play classes that tend to earn bucketloads of sweet delicious tears)

Considering most premiums are actually just duplicates of tech tree ships given some sort of (often badly balanced) gimmick, nah. (I know you mean ship classes, but I couldn't resist)

EU servers are dead and have been since forever, tho. Anyway, afaik they actually scaled ship size up to make them easier to hit.

Tl;dr: DDs counter BBs as they are intended to. Nothing wrong here. Also some straight up wrong facts and realism again without seeing that if this game were realistic, BBs would be the first to suffer.

And obviously giving US CVs a 2/3/0 loadout will be totally balanced. That'll only give them the capability of nuking any ship regardless of AA with a total alpha strike of 177.606 damage. I mean, it's not like 2x US torp squads were already considered OP back in CBT, right guys? Right?

Met a Black quite a while ago. We were bearing down on a cap 4vs1 (2x Gearing, 1x Fletcher, 1x IJN DD), he simply popped smoke & radar and drove us all off while dodging all our torps. We managed to catch him out of position and sink him later on, tho.

Funny, I trash talk plenty when playing CV and I seem to do pretty well.

He did study and promote naval aviation. He also commanded Akagi early in his career. Anyway, it's just an example. I simply chose a name everyone would (hopefully) recognize.

Well, in the CV section he wants to give T8+ USN CVs a 2/3/0 setup, so I'm actually not sure about that.

If Mr. Seagal is any indication unique commanders will only receive a slight boost in the stats of 2 skills. Currently he has: - Expert Loader (-75% instead of -50%) - Expert Marksman (+3/1 degrees instead of +2.5/0.7) This technically makes him a BB specialized captain. Example going by this template: Isoroku Yamamoto (this guy is bound to show up someday): - Aircraft Servicing Expert (+6% HP & -12% service time instead of +5% & -10%) - Torpedo Armament Expertise (-23% torp bomber service time instead of -20%) So unless WG goes completely overboard with the numbers and leaves some skills as they are (basically all 4th row skills & Superintendent shouldn't be touched for example) I don't see too much impact on balance.

There is one major factor you're ignoring: Scouting. Hiryu in 2/2/2 has potentially 4 scouts, but can usually limit herself to 2 (she doesn't need more anyway). Saipan 2/2/0 also has 4 scouts (since both fighters and bombers can outrun your fighters). Meanwhile you as AS Ranger only have 2, which can and will be denied. You see, AS Ranger sits in the extremely uncomfortable spot of choosing the lesser evil. You can: - decide to stick with scouting, sacrificing your bombers - decide to give up scouting, giving the enemy team an advantage - decide to save your scouts with your fighters, leaving your own team open for a strike And that's only your own scouting. If the enemy decides to scout, you can again pick one of the following evils: - decide to deny scouting, leaving your own team open for a strike - decide to ignore it and focus on protecting your team, giving the enemy team an advantage Remember, you can't split up your fighters as you will lose air superiority.

Yamato probably killed more planes by exploding than with her AA guns. So yeah, in a way Yamato had "powerful AA" .

Short-fuse AP shells only make overpenetrations less likely. They do nothing in terms of armor penetration. Warspite/Yamato achieve their "lolpen" via overmatch, which is tied to gun caliber. Unless there is something I missed about RN CLs?

I actually wasn't talking about overpens. It's fairly easy to nuke a DD to kingdom come with 2-4 normal pens. Considering that I'd say AP is on par with HE in terms of damage performance, if not superior.

Meh, some people call it balanced, others call it strike. For me personally "strike IJN CV" will always remain the madness that was 0/5/3 Haku and it's companions.

The thing is, why should I bother to do 40k damage when 20k damage is enough to blow most DDs out of the water?

Imo Trump Wagon's primary purpose is to print money. If you have plenty of money then you should probably not bother with it unless you love playing Iowa. Personally I'll be getting it as a f2p peasant and never bother to buy a premium ship ever again. (Well, alright, I might get Enterprise depending on how she turns out)
