Reduce the view distance in the middle of the smoke.

It's a team game. If the majority fails to adapt, they lose. -

If you're incapable of adapting your play to a CV, you deserve to lose. -
Can't be bothered to dig out the official post right now, but it's confirmed.

A new line with poor AA? Blasphemy!

Reduce the view distance in the middle of the smoke.
El2aZeR replied to Lt_Raptor's topic in General Discussion
That is not balancing. That is catering to a specific target audience. 2 completely different things. Basically you want to unbalance the game by making it easier for casuals. Understandable, but to call it "balancing" is beyond hilarious. Funny, considering good players almost unanimously agree that there is little wrong with how CVs are implemented in the game. Please, tell me how it doesn't affect only weaker players considering they're the cause of CVs statistically overperforming. -
History buffs - Japanese cruisers design question?
El2aZeR replied to Artech52's topic in Age of Armour Warships
I thought Japan never really cared much about the treaty anyway, which really shows considering all IJN cruiser classes after Aoba violated it. So imo comparing them to a post-treaty cruiser class is better than comparing them to a treaty one. -
Problem of friendly ships crashing on my tropidos due to their fault
El2aZeR replied to Han951753's topic in General Discussion
When the game is already ending none of those situations really apply. -
Honestly I think it'd actually be much easier since you can simply saturate the entire area with torps. Do you even APM, bro?

El2aZeR replied to Han951753's topic in General Discussion
Easily solved by avoiding situations in which whatever ordinance you throw can lead to a teamkill. As others have already stated: Your torps, your responsibility. -
The only way this is feasibly going to happen is if a CV would be capable of controlling individual planes. While a somewhat amusing thought, it'd be hilariously op.

The German forums are here: http://forum.worldofwarships.eu/index.php?/forum/136-forum/ I'm also guessing you're complaining about torpedoes, to which I'd say: l2p

Reduce the view distance in the middle of the smoke.
El2aZeR replied to Lt_Raptor's topic in General Discussion
So we should nerf torps, too, right? And fires. And flooding. And DD concealment. CA rof. Smoke. Basically remove everything that makes trash uncomfortable. That'll not surely kill the game off, no? Interesting how you didn't jump on the "remove-smoke-firing" train if your goal is to cater to trash. Really, your very idea of game balance is flawed to the core. -

Look at all the various successful multiplayer games out there. Do you see a single one in which trash is catered to? No? Then we shouldn't cater to trash in this game either. -

Well, except he can't. See, it all depends on the enemy team. If it is well coordinated it doesn't matter how skilled the CV is, he won't be able do anything meaningful other than scouting. If we take your example CVs don't have a solid number, but rather fluctuates between extremes depending on how skilled the opposition is. The only reason why CVs can pull amazing statistics right now is because the average player sucks. CVs are actually rather well balanced currently. Their counters are both widely available and highly effective from T6 onwards. -

El2aZeR replied to Lt_Raptor's topic in General Discussion
That is not what I said. I said that in the context of how classes in this game are balanced it is impossible for every class to have the same potential impact. Your statement of "bringing CVs in line with other classes" is contradictory because the other classes are already not in line with each other. And I see you still fail to realize that CVs performing as well as they do statistically has very little to do with CVs. It is funny how you realize that yet when it comes to CVs you want to nerf literally everything without compensating them for anything. You could also limit the amount of damage taken. E.g. remove citadels from RN CLs, make BBs incapable of damaging DDs with AP shells. I guess that'd generate a lot more problems (and salty tears) than it would solve, tho. -

If you increase air detectability of all ships by at least 6km, too, that'd be fine. Still on about that despite knowing it's impossible, hm? -

Your proposed changes still concerns CVs tho. -

Something about planes = does not concern CVs? Okay then... -

It has never occurred to you that CVs need it to be this way so they don't suddenly run into walls of automated AA? I thought the Grozovoi debacle made this quite clear. If you're using invis fire/cover and the enemy CV decides to spot you, isn't that simple teamplay on the other side? If you are incapable of adapting your play to the presence of a CV, isn't that your own fault? -
Strong CVs are a consequence, not an issue. The issue lies entirely with the average skill level of the playerbase. Now, this isn't necessarily their own fault, WG has done jack to give new players proper instruction since day 1. The current tutorial tells you the most bare essentials and that's it. Everything else they have to find out on their own. No one ever tells them "Adapt your playstyle if there's a CV in the game" or "You need to start dodging before planes drop their payload." Heck, even "Turn your bow towards incoming torps" only shows up as a tool tip in the loading screen. Let's see, how is he capable of pulling those numbers? When you think about it it is quite obvious actually. 1. He's a skilled CV player. 2. He tends to play in Divs. 3. Hakuryu is a better CV in randoms than Midway. 4. Even at T10 the average player sucks, giving him plenty of targets to choose from. 5. Most skilled CV players have vacated T10 due to the hilarious economy, making skilled opposition unlikely.

At least on the Nagato it looks like it would theoretically speaking be possible to rotate that turret 360°. These however....

No, the average playerbase gets farmed by skilled players. It's the same story with every class, really. CVs are just particularly adept at it since they're basically designed to punish bad decisions. Neither the meta nor the game suffers from it. Have you perhaps missed the part in which I stated that a CVs influence is given to them and not inherently in the class itself? How to counter CVs is, in fact, simple and consistent. It doesn't even require much interaction. It's just that the average player refuses to learn and cries about how unfair it is that a CV can punish him even if he's completely out of position. If you want to cater to the lowest denominator, then be my guest. However if you do so I highly doubt the game would last another year.
