Also have you heard of Taffy 3? I don't think Yamato even landed a main battery hit at what was basically point blank range. Had it been a 1vs1 Johnston against Yamato I'd actually put my money on Johnston. She could just sit in smoke all day and hammer away at Yamato while Yama would be reduced to firing blindly into smoke hoping for a hit. And that is assuming her FCS doesn't get knocked out first. So, in a way that Gearing would win against Yama is, in fact, realistic. Sorry to break your bubble.

2 red stripes actually, which according to ingame color schemes would make it a T6 Zero with the blue stripes changed to red. Could be an oversight or simple laziness. Then again they could introduce some sort of T6.5 fighter to make Kaga be able to fight toe to toe with her contemporaries.

They don't. The color scheme is different. T7 planes are green, while T6 fighters and DBs are white as on the illustration. (That is ofc we assume the illustration is accurate in the first place)

So, that would give her a full complement of T6 planes. Expected that with the amount of reserves she has. Btw I just noticed the aircraft parking on the deck ingame adjust themselves if you take AS (never realized that before, it's a neat little feature), so we can assume the squad sizes on the picture are accurate. That'd give Kaga a standard loadout of 2/2/2 of T6 planes but with an additional bomber in every squad. In my mind that kinda makes her unappealing as she'll be prone to get shut down by her contemporaries all day.

I would've said it's a belly tank. I think those are 8 Zeroes, 10 Kates and 10 Vals. Zeroes are a lot smaller than Vals and have a different wing shape.

Those front planes seem too small to be TBs imo. Haku has 100, so barely more. Anyway, let's continue with all the fun gimmicks WG can come up with! I say we'll see a return of the IJN full strike deck!

Well, you dismissed teamplay as a counter as imaginary. Surely you want something to change so your fav class can stand up against it's counter class as well? And then you base your arguments against a buff around the fact that she counters BBs. Tell you what, other DDs do it, too. And most of them are far more effective at it than Shima in addition to excelling at other roles that Shima cannot fill. As it stands right now Shima is one of the more ineffective torpedo boats, mostly worthless as a gunboat and inferior as support. It's a matter of balance between her and her contemporaries, that she can blow up a BB or two from time to time has never been the issue. So yeah,

I wouldn't read too much into the art (unless the picture of Saipan also accurately depicted one of her loadouts? I don't remember tbh). 90 planes is ridiculous, though. Not even Taiho has that. I bet she'll get lower tier planes across the board to balance it out.

Have you yet to notice that there are artillery guns on almost every single ship ingame? Then again you seem to encounter CVs almost every match, so it's more likely that you're playing a different game than the rest of us. Premiums can and have been affected by global nerfs before. It's nothing new.

No, it is not. In your example we have the following scenario: You don't shoot -> smoke is 100% effective You shoot -> smoke is 0% effective for 1s, then 100% effective again

Class designed to counter BBs counters BBs. Well damn, that sure can't be right. After all nothing is supposed to counter BBs. It, in fact, works. If the majority of the playerbase chooses not to apply it, though, then that's not a problem with the counter itself, no? Would you destroy perfectly balanced mechanics just to cater to scrubs?

I like KM DDs. As breakfast for my US DDs. Seriously, I recently outgunned a full HP Z-46 in my 5k HP Gearing while we were both sitting in smoke and he had me spotted with Hydro while I had to blindfire. Because HE does no damage and AP is worthless when angled.
