In addition WGs data shows that the skill gap between average and skilled CV players has increased since. Who could've foreseen that? This change was beyond stupid on all levels. On the other hand seal clubbing in Kongo/Clemson is now even more comfortable than it was before. Recently played:

Wanna bet the opposite is the case? From what I've seen the average beta tester possesses far more knowledge about naval warfare history than the average player now will ever have. So you're saying CVs were not part of naval warfare during WW2. Okay then. Seriously, asking WG to remove CVs is like asking them to scrap the game and start anew. Like any other class they're integral to the game, whether you like it or not.

Insane CoE Grind: Make it worth it at least

WG admits that Kamikaze is overpowered. WG does not admit that Belfast is overpowered. There's a difference. -
Kaga to be introduced as Tier VII(Premium?) in WoWS, according to Japanese stream
El2aZeR replied to ShortySunderland's topic in Aircraft Carriers
And in a blob they are able to support each other with their various utilities. It's actually a simple yet effective solution which was evident in CBT when CVs were blatantly overpowered, but it's failing now due to various reasons, none of which really have to do with the basic design of CVs themselves. Anyway, back on topic, I have seen very little that Kaga can do that I wouldn't be able to accomplish in Hiryu. Getting loads of reserves and torp hits is nice, sure, but you're making a huge sacrifices in both air defense and utility (read: DBs) for it. In her current state she is going to be a ship you buy to play for fun or for her historical value, not for her competitiveness. I have no doubt a competent Hiryu/Saipan will be able to crush an equally skilled Kaga while maintaining equal or slightly less strike potential. The only time I can see Kaga ever having the advantage is when she gets up-tiered due to her reserves and extra TBs per squad. Then there's people like iChase who recommends CV sniping with her due to her "large strike potential". Seriously, watching his video made me facepalm so hard my skull almost caved in. -
Which forum members have you seen in random battles?
El2aZeR replied to Cobra6's topic in General Discussion
Met SkybuckFlying in his Lexington while grinding my Baltimore (also Omni division with RNGsama at the front on my team, but who cares about them amirite?). Afterwards I immediately queued as Shokaku to try to catch him and was successful in doing so. It did not go well for him both times. (Although to be fair his teams weren't all that bright as well) -

Please, tell me how something that is 1. automated 2. gets activated as soon as you're in range is easy to avoid. Simply shows you have no idea about game design. A CV's role is to enforce teamwork, something that is currently discarded by the vast majority of the playerbase due to various reasons. You sail alone in a BB in a CV match? You deserve to die. You allow a CV to light your DD up for hours without repercussions? Your own fault. You decide to take a risk in a cruiser and sail off alone and get spotted by planes? Your gamble did not pay off and you're getting punished for it. -
Yes. Good to see you're still lacking basic reading skills. The weight of your opinion has now gone below 0. Comparing a T8 cruiser to a T9 BB is hardly fair. Then again it's not like NC doesn't totally outclass NO in the AA department either. And that NO has less effective AA than Cleve.

Discussion thread for "some interesting info around the world"
El2aZeR replied to Deamon93's topic in General Discussion
Looking at photos of her wreck right now but I can't find one with a hole in her bow. In fact, this one (and all others I could find) shows her bow fully intact. -
Let me remind you that you originally brought on player numbers. Now you're switching to games played? Interesting. Anyway, total games played for BBs in T2-5 (actually forgot about Mikasa, but then again she's not really statistically relevant) is ~112k in the last 7 days according to warships.today, thus comparable to the ~125k battles played in cruisers due to reasons you've already stated and more. Therefore going by battles played there is no "low tier cruiser plague" as you've previously stated. Ofc, if you insist on going back to playercount then fact still remains that low tier cruisers will always outnumber low tier BBs in that. It is relevant for the topic at hand that YOU brought up, which is that according to you there is some kind of "low tier cruiser plague" going around. Now for the actual topic of this thread, you have not only misinterpreted statistics and tried to make up some bs but made a number of statements that show you have no clue about some of the most basic mechanics of this game. Thus your opinion on BB balance and overpopulation holds no weight and should be discarded. With that, I rest my case.

Indeed, but they have statistically already contributed to cruisers at least 3 times to reach said BB. Let's give an example, a new player enters the game with the goal of playing BBs only. To do that he still has to grind through 3 cruisers. He does so in very few battles because learns fast and has the time to spare, reaching his first T3 BB. Now he proceeds to grind through T3-5 in BBs in very few battles as well because he is not a scrub, which is the exception rather than the rule, reaching T6 BBs at which point he is statistically no longer relevant. So the best ratio in low tier battles you could hope for is a 1:1 ratio between cruisers and BBs, because everyone would still have to contribute to cruisers 3 times to play battleships, to which they can also only contribute 3 times since it's T1-5 and BBs start at T3. This is obviously unrealistic because not everyone stops playing cruisers at T3, so anyone who decides to grind through both lines will statistically contribute 5 times to cruisers but only 3 times to BBs. Then you have nations which only have cruisers, which obviously contribute 5 times to cruisers and none to BBs, you have seal clubbers coming back to club T1-3 matches and do so in cruisers because they are the most powerful class in those tiers, etc. etc. etc. On the other side the ONLY way to NOT contribute to cruisers but at least one time to BBs is to skip the first 3 cruisers of a nation with free exp or alternatively seal club with a low tier BB. The former is probably rarely ever done and seal clubbers don't outnumber the influx of new players or ones starting up a new line. Thus it is delusional to expect BB player numbers to be even remotely close to cruiser ones in low tiers.

Precisely, which means that even when they get their BBs they will not be able to advance very quickly and thus statistically contribute far more to cruisers than to BBs when comparing player numbers. Really? Let's check that. According to warships.today from T1-5 ~125k games have been played in cruisers in the last 7 days, of which more than 25k have been played in T1-3. Pretty sure 1/5 is, in fact, not insignificant and far from the 1/32 you projected. Also RN CLs make up 30k games from T1-5. Those have literally no choice but to play cruisers.

So you're saying the average player is not incapable, lazy and incompetent? Okay then. I do not believe for a second that you have spend time playing this game. Why comment on a game you've never played?

You have just shot yourself in the foot, mate. And I'd love to see a new player skip the first 3 tiers of mandatory cruiser play with free exp that he is undoubtedly going to have. Oh wait. Same goes for experienced players. Why waste free exp when you can just power through T1-3 in a few battles?

Yes, it is. 1. A vast majority of players is not guaranteed to get out of those tiers quickly, which is a sad but true statement. 2. A vast majority of players are not willing to grind all the way to BBs in one day. You may call them casuals. 3. A vast majority of players will not be advancing past the first BB they get quickly either. Likewise with the second BB. 4. Every time you start a new nation you need to grind through cruisers. This gets exacerbated by the fact that 2 nations do not have any other classes in their lineup. 5. Seal clubbers usually use cruisers when clubbing in bottom tiers. Need I go on? It does, because you have nations which do not have a BB line. Get that into your head.

He is still statistically guaranteed to count towards cruisers three times for one nation. Then there's an additional two nations now that do not have a BB line. Anything else to say?

Low tiers include tiers in which BBs literally don't exist. You're FORCED to play cruisers if you want to make any kind of progress. I'm absolutely serious right now, have you ever even played this game?

Problem with "Clash of Elements" and potential mathematical way to solve it
El2aZeR replied to wilkatis_LV's topic in General Discussion
How about never making an event that pits 2 teams against each other and instead let everyone pull in one direction like with GNB? That way you avoid this whole team dilemma in the first place.- 6 replies

You may as well be. There's little utility to be had out of a CV when you've lost all your planes. Ask yourself this: Is a CV capable of fulfilling its roles without planes? If the answer is no then you agree that planes are a vital part of a CV, thus making my point valid. (If the answer is yes then I would love to have whatever you're smoking, because it must be dank af. ) There's still that thing about BBs being too powerful. They're not as overpowered as some people are crying about, sure, but they aren't balanced either. It is very much in need of not necessarily drastic, but at least small adjustments. And small adjustments are what dasCKD provides. Heck, even as a BB player I'd be more than happy with the accuracy buff he proposes, while the turret traverse nerf is debatable (as some already take eternity to turn). Everything else has very little impact on BB gameplay as a whole, but provide quality of life changes for other classes.

Here we go again, another guy that doesn't understand that CV survivability is largely irrelevant. Have you seen how fast planes melt under concentrated AA? That's your answer. BBs are literally the only class right now that cannot be quickly killed. Well, if you can vanish into stealth then you're not overextended, no? At least that's not what I'd count as overextended.

Played Shima for the first time in quite a while today. The guns felt a bit more comfy with the extra turret traverse but the 2 min torp reload is still agonizing. I felt like there's nothing I achieved which I wouldn't have been able to do in a Fletcher or a Gearing torpedo-wise, while lack of gun power and other utility was sorely felt. Imo there's still no reason to choose Shima over Fletcher if you want a dedicated torpedo platform.
