PQ's The CV problem - discussion with skilled players only
El2aZeR replied to LemonadeWarriorITA's topic in General Discussion
If someone actually bothers to watch that 4 hour monstrosity, do please put a summary here. I'm kinda curious whether Ahskance just regurgitates his usual bull about how CVs are perfectly fine. -

How about a CV line that doesn't have a dumb amount of gimmicks? -

She has inferior damage potential against everything in addition to being terrible at dealing with DDs and more mobile cruisers. FDR is indeed ironically fairly noob friendly. Audacious though isn't much of a benchmark since it is the weakest T10 CV by far. Whether something is overpowered or not is also not determined by how easy it is to play. Conqueror is pretty easy to play, but terrible at influencing the match and thus not overpowered. -

This again is contradictory because FDR is one of the weaker T10 options. Considering FDR op but CVs fine is like saying AR-15s should be banned but other guns are perfectly okay. If FDR is overpowered then so are the majority of other CVs. Not even just on T10 in fact. -
Cleveland do it need survivability buff or not?
El2aZeR replied to VedranSeaWolf359's topic in General Discussion
All cruisers say T4+ could stand to get heal tbh. -
FDR sustained damage output is actually quite terrible due to slow planes with terrible maneuverability and the 25s attack cd. The alpha isn't nearly high enough to make up for that. For every attack a FDR flies, any other T10 CV can basically complete an entire strike cycle. Making AA irrelevant isn't particularly unique to FDR.

Which I suppose is why you initially called it possible in the entirety of mid tiers where in reality it was possible in only a single tier? Please. The only one being laughably dishonest here is you. Yes, that is the case. And what you've stated has nothing to do with it. Again, you were complaining about DD imbalance, no? As @DFens_666 has already stated, CVs can easily cause or resolve it, thus making DDs completely irrelevant to the match up, all depending on the skill of the CV player. You have thus created a situation where CV skill imbalance decides the match which is arguably worse than DD imbalance as your team's success or failure is extremely dependent on only a single player. Which is why this is simply untrue. You have merely shifted the cause of the landslide from one class to another. Which is only to a certain extend true. If there were only a single BB per match for example the skill gap between a good and bad BB player would be a much bigger factor, but it wouldn't allow them to reach extremely high WRs simply because a good cruiser or DD player can also pick up the slack and compensate. This is not possible for a similar match up with CVs unless taken to the extreme (since no matter how overpowered CVs or any class/ships currently are, they cannot win 1vs23), which results in a default win/loss decided solely by MM anyway. CB meta with CVs in it is exactly that as CVs are too punishing against aggressive play, thus everyone is just sitting next to cover flinging long range fire at each other for several minutes on end until one side gives. That CVs make the game more dynamic is a myth, it actually makes the game more passive and throws what admittedly little dynamic there was completely out of the window. This is the reason why competitive players take issue with it. -

1. Which again is the exception and not the rule as you have proclaimed it to be. 2. Again T6 is the only tier in which what you say can happen. You are thus the only one fixated on a single tier and pretending the rest of the game doesn't exist. 3. Changes nothing about the fact that you are still objectively wrong. 4. Irrelevant to the topic at hand. What you are missing is that in the end the same result is still being produced regardless of fixed or regenerating reserves. And the end result ultimately decides what is true or not. In fact if we were to simply take this a step further we could point out that during 0.8.5 to 0.8.7 when CVs were at their most balanced to date the population of the rework sank below that of RTS which only changed after 0.8.7 when WG completely murdered AA in an effort to claw population back. Accessibility is not inherently a given just because of regenerating reserves. The objective, unbiased data that I am quoting. Clearly you do not like hearing the truth. By being exceptionally good at killing DDs one way or another. -
Favorite shipgirl (Kancolle,Azur lane, Arpeggio of blue steel,Haifuri)
El2aZeR replied to Kancolle_Kongou's topic in Off-Topic
Done with E-4 and the event. Initially tried to clear it on normal but the final boss node is a gigantic salt farming machine, easy rewards weren't worth it so I just cleared on casual. Don't think there is anything else left to farm either. Only ship I don't have afaik is Kaiboukan No. 4 and I'm not gonna bother with that. Got a stupid amount of dupes in this event. Not sure whether I'll just use them for modernization or level them for equipment. -

T6 was the only tier where you could do this as T4 and 5 completely lacked the ability to strafe and T7 already had fleet carrier reserves. Nice of you to admit you have no idea what you're talking about. Now what makes you think you are capable of judging RTS CV play in any way, shape or form given your severe lack of experience? The point you are missing is that they are completely incapable of achieving anything even if they do have planes, resulting in the same outcome as if they had no planes. I thus fail to see the difference. CVs convert a DD disadvantage much quicker, thus leading to even faster snowballing. In fact CVs can even completely overturn a DD disadvantage, making DDs as a class completely irrelevant. And as others have stated, other methods to defeat DDs exist. CVs are completely detrimental to the game and have no role that isn't already covered. The sole reason why T6 CVs currently struggle is because of constant uptiering. If they would face their own tier on a regular basis they'd be just as overpowered and influential as on any other tier. Other tiers do perfectly fine. More than that in fact. -

El2aZeR replied to LemonadeWarriorITA's topic in General Discussion
It was utterly impossible to deplane even the worst CV players in just 3 minutes due to longer strike cycle times and fighter ammunition restrictions. A poor CV player now is incapable of accomplishing anything with their planes, as such it is completely irrelevant whether they still have some to begin with resulting in the very same outcome as in RTS. You are fundamentally failing to understand how both RTS and reworked CVs work quite frankly and it is one of the reasons why PQ is asking that you show qualification before discussing anything first. WG has in fact tried to make CVs balanced, unfortunately it turns out that the CV playerbase is unwilling to play a balanced CV iteration and as a result WG chose to prioritize population over game balance. -

Again, what kind of mistake is irrelevant. The average playerbase will in most cases insist that even if said mistake, regardless of nature, is pointed out to them and explained in detail that it wasn't a mistake in the first place, then proceed to blame anything and everything unrelated instead. THAT is why they're typically treated with disdain, not because they make mistakes but because they refuse to acknowledge them. Which is of course more than right. Statements should be treated for what they're individually worth, not based on who they're coming from. Less skilled players can have great ideas, unicums can have dumb ones. We've seen that plenty. It doesn't, but again I believe it is far beyond help anyway. Ironically that's the same player. Are reworked CVs really much more accessible? With the context above it seems less so really at least in terms of required skill. -

That's somehow not a fair argument but whining? Really? Especially since it can be backed up by facts and data? You'd be surprised how many there are. And it is exactly why the "play for fun" argument has such a bad reputation attached to it in this game as it is typically the standard response of anyone who is playing badly with malicious intent. Believe it or not, wasn't always that way. The reason why that has changed is above as well as what @DFens_666 already stated. And WG ofc has likewise refused to address player progression issues in any way, shape or form. The playerbase is way beyond help at this point, so I might as well treat it with the respect that it typically does me. Aka none. Insisting that your mistake wasn't one however when it is pointed out to you, as is quite typical with the average playerbase, and instead choosing to blame completely unrelated things doesn't. Again, nobody is saying that you should take playing to win to the extreme. Just snoop around on wows-numbers. Do note that to access old CV stats you need to find someone who still has those recorded in their profile instead of on the general leaderboards and go from there. Here's a basic example though: The worst achieved average damage in RTS Midway is 27,6k. The worst achieved average damage in rework Midway is 1,7k. That's not a typo. -

You know what you also do not see? People whining about how the moves he makes are unfair, that he's using his pieces correctly and effectively, that they cannot move their pieces however they want and have to play according to the rules, etc. Because that's what potatoes in WoWs often do and why goodwill towards them has completely dried up over the years. Again, respect is a two-way street. Most of the average playerbase in WoWs do not care to respect anyone, so in turn they aren't respected. This is untrue. Both averages and lows have heavily declined, while peak performance has remained roughly the same. Potatoes still get deplaned by flak, so no change there. In fact it can be argued precisely because average and bad performance has so heavily declined that flak is actually a lot worse than having to face fighters. -

Which changes nothing about that it is common courtesy to not do something that contradicts the objective of this game. Thus if your stance of playing for fun contradicts playing to win, you should simply do so in a gamemode where it doesn't bother anyone else. If you still insist on doing it where you may potentially earn the ire of your teammates, then you'll simply have to accept that people may not respect you for it just like you are not respecting them. Yes, it is a spectrum and it can go too far in both directions. For example sailing around in circles just because you want to admire the scenery and not actually partake in the game is just as stupid as picking the most competitive boats and expecting everyone else to do the same every single time. But expecting someone to play for the win in the already active match regardless of their own enjoyment of said playstyle is far from that, it is, again, basic common courtesy. And if you want to violate that expecting others to respect you for it is extremely laughable since you've already shown that you do not care to respect them either. This somehow implies that CVs make the game less passive. In reality the opposite is the case since CVs shut down aggressive movement and thus induce rather than prevent camping. -

So how exactly does it change that the objective of the game is still to win? You're moving goalposts. Besides, winning does in fact have economic benefits. -
The funny thing about this is that FDR isn't even that strong of a CV.

Yes. If you want to just "play for fun" there are gamemodes where you won't bother others with it. Again, respect is a two way street, if you cannot respect the spirit of competition then there is no reason others have to respect you. This is not a singleplayer game where you can mess around all you want without affecting anyone else. -
PQ's The CV problem - discussion with skilled players only
El2aZeR replied to LemonadeWarriorITA's topic in General Discussion
We did have that once upon a time. Unfortunately respect is a two way street and time has proven that most players prefer to blame their shortcomings on every other member of their team, MM, the ship they play, their computer, the current weather, star alignment and economic conditions in Bolivia before even remotely beginning to accept that maybe it is their own fault. Or just go the "I pley for phun" route. -

Spend all your money on lootboxes and get an Enterprise. That alone should be enough to boost your WR by another 10% or so.- 23 replies

Zitadelle. Mit Kagero HE. Auf eine Sowjetskij Sajus. Wollt ihr mich vergackeiern???
El2aZeR replied to AlwaysBadLuckWithTeams's topic in Allgemeine Diskussionen
