  6. Wasp was largely the same size at the severe cost of speed and especially protection, which are the same shortcomings Ranger had. Trying to fit her at T7 wouldn't be too misplaced in that context I believe. As stated previously, if unwilling to restrict her reserves you could give her the Kaga treatment instead but more DB/fighter focused, with lower squad sizes and reserves dedicated to TBs. With the upcoming AP bombs she'd still be viable in randoms while preserving national flavor.
  7. I have dodged torps full broadside with hydro in Bismarck and FdG. If you can't, well, git gud? Ever considered you're not supposed to counter everything in a BB? No? Thought so. Good: - practically impossible to citadel - best armor scheme against HE shells - hydro - good AA - great gun handling - murder secondaries (killed DDs in less than a minute with them, dunno what you're complaining about) Neutral: - average handling - average penetration (not that it matters much in the distances combat in this game usually plays out) - average concealment (if you spec into it as you should) Bad: - bad accuracy - size - bad TDS compensated for by hydro - take loads of AP bomb damage only one CV with AP bombs in the game Now, let's examine your actual experience in high tier play. Oh. Yeah, I too would be mad if I were as bad as you.

If the infrastructure in terms of coding/plugins/game engine is already in place then it is in fact just a matter of copy & paste (I would highly assume both traverse and elevation are simply determined by just inputting the corresponding numbers, as that'd be the most simple and efficient solution you can use for all guns). Best example is the Harekaze, which simply uses Midway/Akizuki guns slapped on top. Take it from someone who is actually a 3D artist. ;)

Not enough apparently. - Smokes don't have enough counters? According to BBabies at least. - KM BBs are actually underpowered and all their advantages are worthless? Yup, totally true.

Dunno about programming (as I'm not a programmer, but I do believe the necessary code is already in place and only needs to be altered by a few values), but ensuring a fit for a turret is actually very easy. The gun is its own standalone model. Swapping it out with another one is a matter of copy & paste once the new turret has been created. Even that was a factor of copy & paste, the 127 mm/51 Mark 7 Shen Yang carries is a secondary gun taken off of low-mid tier USN BBs with the gun shield of low tier USN DDs copied on it.
  11. Development schedules still have to be considered. If we take a look into what WG has teased and planned so far KM CVs are far off into the future even if they are being considered. The 3D models WG creates are modular in nature. There was simply no need to create much in the way of assets in the PA DD line because a good majority of them already exist. And the things created for the PA DD line in turn can be used for future lines. You lose no value nor much time in creating a PA DD line. As for textures, the biggest difference I can see is the coloring and ofc the flag. Which can be changed in a couple of clicks. It really shows that PA DDs were developed rather quickly as they were created in tandem with the RN BB line. If you look at some of the dev videos creating a single ship easily takes up months of work, considering the development pace of this game I highly doubt they have the capacity to spare implementing two lines at once if they could not reuse a lot of stuff for one. Pretty much the only reason why PA DDs aren't released yet is due to the gimmick they're currently testing with them. I'm pretty sure the RU line already proved this. :) Still, I highly doubt they'll risk offending the playerbase again by implementing another historically insignificant/non-existent line in lieu of one that's still awaited. Even if KM CVs were next in line, that's still easily 3-4 years in the future.
  12. True, but anyone who would like swift implementation of a workable line should keep that in mind. Which were mostly copy & paste, assets which either already existed (USN/RU DDs) or will be used in future iterations (RN DDs and derivatives). Creating the PA DD line consumed next to no resources nor extra time in terms of creation comparatively speaking. That will not be the case with KM CVs.

    The citadel on Iowa & Monty actually still reaches slightly above the waterline. Apart from Yamato they're also still the most easy high tier BBs to citadel at close range in my experience.
  14. WG has already stated that KM will not receive a full CV line. Even if, they'd take a far backseat behind plenty of lines with historical value left to implement. By the time we see a KM CV line (if at all) this game'll probably be a decade old or so.

  17. Clearly, your vast knowledge of this game is astounding. Then I guess I want my little DD to be able to destroy a Yamato's combat capability by wrecking the superstructure. Realism as a argument doesn't work.

    Dunno why people don't like her tbh. The only fault I can find with her is the godawful turret traverse. (Should be noted that I never played Warspite)
  20. That is already in the game. AP is the most reliable tool to permanently destroy main armament.
  21. Because obviously something will touch off a fuse or provide enough resistance to apply kinetic force when the actual armor couldn't. And clearly DDs are not engineered as warships, having multiple levels of redundancies to keep on fighting despite hits. Real life examples actually prove you wrong. High caliber AP shells literally have to tear a destroyer apart to sink it, a couple of overpens do pretty much nothing.

    I finally got the NC...

    NC becomes one of the most maneuverable high tier BBs once you get the hull upgrade, especially if you slot the ruddershift upgrade as well. She also represents a radical change in playstyle. Starting with NC you rely less on your armor and more on cover and concealment to survive. While your bow armor is capable of bouncing everything except Yama shells, you will not survive very long under consistent HE fire, traits that will only get more punishing once you advance in tiers. Keep your enemy between your min concealment (being a hilarious 11.8km if you get both CE and the upgrade) and around 14km while making sure you always have some cover available against potential flanks or torp attacks. You never really want to lead charges unless the enemy lines have been thinned out severely, as again you go down much faster than your contemporaries under concentrated fire. Still, if you realize your team needs to push but all your teammates are hanging back, don't let that be an excuse to do so as well. Just keep in mind that you will never be able to sustain the same amount of punishment as others. As for the guns, they're actually superb once you get used to them.
