I should probably add that with the recent reboot they have waived quite a few restrictions and rules due to the low starting population. You have no idea about this game nor WoWs, judged entirely by your playing experience, statistics and statements. -

With previous, totally idiotic statements such as this Because obviously the few minutes of playing time you've most likely accumulated will tell you the entire story. How about manually adjusting your firing angles? That alone makes NF more of a simulation than WoWs will ever be. -

*depending on class and nation. Newsflash: At least two, if not three ships of the remaining 6 surface combatants will be DDs. DDs are not known for their AA abilities. That leaves at best 4 capital ships. Splitting those in two is suicide in tactical terms if the enemy doesn't split. Even worse when only three are remaining. - wants to remove CVs due to limiting tactics - does not understand basic tactics What a joke. -

First of all, thank you for taking your time to answer. It's very much appreciated. Small clans, alright, I can see that. However I feel like the latter two points should take a backseat to ensuring a healthy distribution of all ship classes as well as, perhaps more importantly, emphasizing teamplay over individual skill (ofc that's not to say that 7vs7 will disregard teamplay, but it will surely be less important, if only slightly). Either way this could've been solved more elegantly. You could've for example created two leagues and have clans themselves decide which one they want to play in. One (let's call it "premier league") could've used the current established 9vs9 tournament settings (with T10 if you're so insistent), while the other (call it "rookie league" or sth similar) could use the abridged 7vs7 rules you came up with. To make an ascend to the premier league more desirable it could offer better rewards than the rookie one while still opening the doors to a competitive environment for smaller clans. The divide in the community will happen anyway, the least you could do is offer both sides options they can be happy with. -

Jesus Christ, this is not about CVs. Not having CVs in a 7vs7 is very well within reasonable bounds as I have said before. This is about not using an established format that is known to work. 9vs9 works with all ship classes. 7vs7 with ridiculous restrictions, cutting out 1/2 of the playable classes, is new, untested as a competitive format and will inevitably divide the community and create a [edited]-storm. Why then use 7vs7 over 9vs9? -

With only 6 other surface combatants, of which 2-3 will be DDs, you have no room for tactical decisions or maneuvers. If it were 9vs9 you could split into two, if not three groups and thus retain tactical options and ship diversity, as it is already done successfully in competitive, making the rest of your points null and void. You keep clinging to your flawed views and ideals despite being told numerous times that they're wrong and will not benefit the game in any shape or form. -

Thank you, that's all I need to know about that. However what I meant is that clans may have voted for this format only to force a hard reset on the current "leaderboards", increasing their chances of winning. The exclusion of CVs is well understandable in the current format imo. I still cannot understand why said format is being used, however. Which is untrue in this case. No one could've blamed them for using, or at least basing clan battles on an already established, proven setup that clans already use. They could've easily gone with T10 9vs9 to ensure a healthy distribution of ship classes, which they would've inevitably caught some flak for, but it'd be far from the [edited]-storm they got now by creating a completely new pseudo-ranked mode that excludes half of the playable classes and doesn't even remotely resemble a competitive setting. It makes no sense on all levels to try something radical here. -

And that ofc begs the question which average skill level the clans that voted for this setup have, regardless of whether they were invited at random or not. Having lower skilled clans voting for their own benefit rather than overall game balance is very much in the realms of possibility. Not this drastically, nor with so little sense. You have an established format, why use something else? The above part could've been completely avoided by choosing something that is already widely accepted and proven to work. By creating something new you inevitably incite conflict within the community, leaving at least one part unsatisfied and potentially boycotting your new system. -

I specified established, aka well known and competitively successful clans. If you were part of a clan with some reputation, would you rather play this weird version of ranked or play a third party tournament with actual tournament settings? I know I wouldn't bother even remotely with it, or just do it as a joke more along the lines of random/ranked instead of the serious competitive gamemode it wants to be. You can still make it 9vs9 to allow all classes to appear in sufficient numbers. Restrictions in other tournaments never actually excluded 1/2 of all playable classes. -

Yet with these rules they have alienated the established clans already playing tournaments, only catering to the lowest possible denominator once again. Why would you play clan battles when you know that this isn't the competitive game mode you hoped for but some seriously shafted version of ranked? To say that this is to get as many of them back into this game is a joke on an astronomical scale. Clan wars is supposed to be a competitive setting, why not simply use that ruleset then? The ideal would have been to use what is already working, I still cannot see a reason why T8 9vs9 wasn't used (or T10 9vs9 if they're so insistent). Clan battles aren't supposed to be a cakewalk, it's not supposed to be easy to get into nor be comfortable to play. It's where the best of the best are supposed to duke it out with all that entails. And yes, that includes CVs. If only a good CV player is tipping the scales in a match then that match is actually pretty even, as, contrary to popular belief, CVs are actually the most team dependent class in a competitive match, being there for spotting only. If you cannot deal with one, you shouldn't be playing competitive anyway. -

Honestly, I can understand the decision of removing CVs from a T10 7vs7 match-up. Having one CV + 6 other surface combatants is simply too low of a number of the latter and restricts both tactical options and viable ship choices severely. Imo this is obviously the true driving force for removing CVs as any other reason is nothing short of absolutely retarded (as demonstrated in the video). Which makes me wonder, why not simply roll with the usual T8 9vs9 tournament setup that is proven to work? Or, if you really want to keep T10, also make it 9vs9 so you can have adequate numbers of all ship classes available? -

This isn't about one nation vs one nation. I highly doubt a fleet of only Moskvas will be able to give a well rounded one much trouble. But meh, I guess we'll see. - majority of playerbase is [edited] - CVs designed to punish mistakes = OMG WHY DO CVS HAVE GOOD STATS CVS OP PLS NERF We also got millions of complaints about torps. Look where that lead to. Catering to the lowest possible denominator (aka you) sure is beneficial to the game. Go figure. -

Not really, provided a DD scouts ahead like it should. Moskva cannot hope to get close without taking loads of focus fire herself. DM could with her lower concealment, but suffers worse from focus fire than Moskva. Neither will be able to utilize smoke. A Z-52 loses out against a Gearing backed up by a radar Mino. I feel like you misunderstand, I am talking in the context of smoke firing changes that will probably be applied in the next major patch. -

Honestly? I think Minotaur with radar will provide the most utility (aka DD killing power). Moskva will be able to use her utility from smoke but cannot shoot without herself becoming the target of tremendous focus fire. Minotaur will still be able to utilize smoke effectively after the smoke firing changes come to the main client, which means a Gearing + Mino combo will be able to dominate any objective based gamemode. I think 3 Gearings (or 2 Gearings + 1 Z-52), 2 radar Minos along with a long range support cruiser (Zao/Hindenburg/Moskva) and a Conqueror, Yamato or even a Montana will be the most effective composition. Remember that with the new smoke firing changes none of the latter will be able to go even close to objectives without getting focused to death, which means concealment and long range accuracy will become a sought after virtue until all DDs on one side are dead. -
Better question, what is the point of your video then? That Conqueror can be citadelled at long range? So what? Having immunity against citadels at ranges where it actually counts is still more than broken, really, especially considering all the advantages RN BBs get. Also the actual potatoes watching your video will now all have one more excuse to camp at long range and snipe. Congrats on inducing that.

Then why choose a format which you knew would exclude CV players from playing it and severely limit the number of BB players? You could've simply used the established 9vs9 tournament format and everything would've been fine. Why was the change to 7vs7 even necessary? -
Try to do so at close range, not at 17+km which is a thoroughly unrealistic, not to mention ineffective distance to keep. Seriously, calling others "potatoes" while at the same time showcasing your incompetence isn't really the best way to demonstrate credibility.

By looking at past tournaments played. It's not that hard. Having a lesser skilled CV player is not that big of a handicap in a competitive format, as demonstrated by past tournaments. Unless ofc your entire, or even just part of your team is less skilled than the opposing one, at which point you deserve to lose anyway. I can understand however that having a CV fit a slot in 7vs7 may be undesirable due to the low number of ships participating, but that ofc begs the question of why 7vs7 in the first place. Was 9vs9, the normal widely established competitive format, somehow not working? Why introduce something new when all people wanted is to introduce the competitive format into the game client? It makes no sense on all levels, really. -

Once you study the actual history of the game you will see that the vast majority of community feedback that have been given before the implementation of certain mechanics and decisions have been thoroughly ignored. What is left for us to do except for sharpening the pitchforks and lighting the torches when we know we're going to get ignored anyway as soon as our feedback doesn't fit WG's vision of the game, no matter how flawed that vision may be? Waiting for flawed mechanics to get implemented before making up your mind is like trying to shoot down a nuke when it has already exploded. -

With the meta that will be unfolding? I highly doubt it. I imagine DDs will create the usual smoke walls for cruisers to hide behind, except these cruisers will only be useful for their utility (aka radar) and will never be able to fire their main guns unless they're spotted anyway due to the new smoke firing changes. DDs will be left to torp those smokes and kill each other, with periodical support from cruisers and the one BB camping further away. Basically that means everything that will be camping at long range will shoot at DDs, everything that's hiding in smokes will use their utility against DDs but will not shoot for (very rational) fear of getting focused to death, DDs will try to kill each other and only until after the DDs of one side have been dealt with will the game move anywhere.
